The monsters near Night experienced the full brunt of the aura, which killed them instantly.

His friends were not as affected, likely due to their connection to him. But they still couldn’t move like the others in the planet and were frozen in place.

Unlike his friends who had a connection with his Sara and Blade sitting near the tree didn’t have the same luck.

The Aura was mercilessly attacking friend and foe alike and Sara, who already had a soul injury, suffered the most. Her condition worsened.

Blade was not faring much better, though outwardly, she remained unharmed.

Unlike everything else, Night was not frozen, but he didn’t move either, entirely focused on the process.

He didn’t know why the snake-shaped rune had reacted, but it seemed related to the red fire. As he had guessed, the first thing the snake-shaped rune did after releasing the aura was move toward it.

The snake-shaped rune in Night’s Soul Space jumped into the red fire as if it had always been waiting for it all this time.

At the same time, the flame totem on the back of his hand underwent a bizarre change.

Red flames poured out of the totem and consumed the Armoured Fire Lizard, but it didn’t stop there. The flames surged toward all the remaining dead monsters, greedily consuming the corpses.

Night’s eye twitched. Was it supposed to do that?

Night also felt a pang of heartache watching all the potential EV disappear.

Currently, after all the devouring, his EV had finally broken 500k, and he still didn’t feel like he had enough.

[Energy Value (EV): 516,386 EV]

The red flames ignored his friends, and in seconds, they consumed all the corpses.

As it happened, the snake-shaped rune in his Soul Space dissolved into the red fire, turning it completely white.

After the flames had finally devoured all the corpses, they returned and entered the Flame Totem.

Simultaneously, the now white flame in his Soul Space grew intense and compressed, until only a small snake in the shape of an infinity symbol, biting its own tail, remained.

It had turned into a totem. Night understood this instantly because of the information he had received from the cultivation technique.

As soon as it formed, information appeared in his mind, telling him exactly what kind of Beast Soul Totem it was.

[White-Scaled Ouroboros]

That was the name of the beast.

In perfect sync, the flame totem on the back of his hand moved to the pit of his throat, shifting to resemble the White-Scaled Ouroboros Totem.

Just as it happened, the aura covering the planet disappeared, and everything returned to normal.

He also received another set of information from the totem. This tolem had a skill attached to it, but it would only reveal itself when the time was right.

Mysterious...

He felt his Soul Space become far more stable, and his overall strength surged. To know more, he would have to review the Totem Soul Sutra, he was not sure how the rankings in Soul Cultivation worked.

Before he could do that, Blade appeared beside him.

"Let’s go," Blade said.

Just as he was about to ask why, he saw Sara standing beside her, blood flowing from her mouth.

His pupils contracted in panic, but realising it was most likely an urgent situation, he quickly calmed himself, unsummoning his friends and the Throne.

"Let’s go," Night agreed.

Blade cut through space, and the three of them left the Death Zone.

The second they disappeared, terrifying Demigod-level monsters swarmed their previous location.

At their appearance all the weaker monster hid with everything they had, they didn’t want any part in this chaos.

Among the monster that appeared first, were even close to the peak of the Demigod rank.

One of them was a colossal snake that gave off an aura alarmingly close to that of a true God...

Night, Blade, and Sara appeared just outside the Death Zone barrier.

"What happened?" Night asked.

"We were too close to that aura," Sara said, wincing. "Because of my soul injury, I took the worst of it."

Night looked at her with guilt. Unknowingly, he had hurt her...

As she wiped the blood flowing from her lips, she smiled reassuringly. "It is not as bad as you think..."

Blade looked at her, then at Night, and chose not to comment. She could tell even Night didn’t know exactly what had just happened.

"Good thing we were setting up the arrays," Sara added, "otherwise we would have been caught off guard and become monster food."

They had been setting the arrays for the monster that had the node but it unknowingly helped them avoid a disaster.

Seeing Night’s confusion, Blade explained, "Because of that weird aura you released, all the strong monsters were attracted to our location. They probably thought a peerless treasure had appeared."

Night’s back was covered in cold sweat just hearing that.

All the monsters?

The little bit they had seen of the Death Zone was terrifying enough for Night to know how dreadful the Eternal Light Region truly was.

If all the strong monsters in that area had attacked them, not even dust would remain. He suspected his Nightmare Fire might not have even worked on the strongest ones.

"What do we do now?" Blade asked.

Just then, Night received an urgent message from [Blaze]. "You are being targeted by the Demons and that [Void God]! Leave that place immediately!"

Shocked, Night urged them, "Let’s return to the Dream City now!"

Before they could even ask why, Night elaborated. "The Demons and the Void God are coming for us, and they know where we are!"

Suddenly, Blade looked surprised, while Sara’s pupils constricted in horror.

Immediately, Blade cut through space toward Dream City and pushed Night and Sara through the rift, but it was already too late.

"[Yellow Bomb]," a voice echoed. It was Alze-beus.

BOOM!

The entire region exploded as if a nuclear bomb had gone off. Sara and Night could only see a blinding yellow light as Blade used her own body to block the brunt of the attack, before they were teleported.

...

Cough. Cough. Cough.

Night got up and looked at his surroundings, immediately covering himself in Nightmare Fire.

What happened?

The surroundings were not the Nightmare Castle he had been expecting, but they were close. They were somewhere in the forest region near the city.

From afar, he could see Dream City. It seemed the explosive attack had managed to destabilize and alter their teleportation coordinates.

Remembering the dire situation they were in, he panicked. He looked around but couldn’t find Sara, who was supposed to be right beside him.

******** Natural Calamity Physique. Night cursed under his breath as he spread his Spirit Sense to locate her.

No wonder the whole journey had felt strangely peaceful, the physique had been preparing a big disaster for him all along.

And this time, it had dragged Sara and Blade into the disaster with him.

He despaired thinking about how Blade was faring. Blade could have easily defended herself, but she had chosen to take the attack head-on so that he and Sara could escape the unknown threat.

After all, a God was involved, even a Unique Being like Blade chose not to be careless.

Night swore to himself: if something happened to Blade, he would find whoever did it and give them the worst death possible, even if he had to burn the entire planet down to do so.

Ignoring his dark thoughts, he focused on his Spirit Sense, which had improved drastically after acquiring his first totem.

He had unlocked the ability to use Spirit Sense when he reached the peak of Qi Awakening.

Typically, this skill only became available when one reached the Foundation Building stage, but because of how exceptional his cultivation technique was, he had unlocked it early in the Qi Awakening stage.

Using his Spirit Sense to find Sara was far better than running around blindly. If she was close, the Spirit Sense would do the job, and if she was far away... he didn’t want to think in that direction right now.

His Spirit Sense could already cover a full kilometer in diameter.

Soon, he spotted Sara.

She was lying on the ground, he witch robes were in rags. She hadn’t yet regained consciousness.

Night dashed forward, using all the movement skills he had at his disposal.

He realized Sara had not been completely honest with him earlier. With her strength, she should have been the first to wake up, not him, making their current situation even more dangerous.

Just as he reached Sara, he heard a voice.

"So, you are the Primordial God’s Chosen."

All the hairs on his body stood on end as he saw a grotesque being materialize near Sara out of nowhere. Night hadn’t detected it with his Spirit Sense at all before hearing its voice.

The being was six feet tall. It had three heads, six arms, and two legs. All three heads looked like human, if you ignored the extra pair of eyes on each face. The left head was a middle-aged woman with black hair; the right head was a middle-aged man with black and white hair. The face in the middle belonged to a young boy, and it was the one that had just spoken.

Alze-beus looked at Night and said, "I only have business with the witch." It pointed one of its hands at Sara. "I have no reason to get into a conflict with you, so..."

"Get lost, brat."
