Though Night didn’t sense anything, someone else did.

"cArefuLl," [Zethe-thoth] whispered.

As soon as he heard it, Alze-beus sprang into action. Not caring at all about hurting the Primordial God’s Chosen, the Devil’s three heads screamed.

Screeee!

As the sound waves erupted, the ground collapsed, the air cracked, and even space destabilized for a second.

The attack was so sudden that Night was caught off guard, but someone else was prepared.

A huge array appeared with Sara at the center. The Game of Chess flew from Night’s hands, only stopping once it reached the middle of the formation.

Sara, who should have been knocked out, was floating high up in the air. Her tome continuously flipped pages as arrays and magic circles superimposed upon each other.

With a glowing lens over her right eye, she mumbled, "[Astral Void Displacement]."

The attack that should have torn them apart phased right through them, as if it had lost its mark and decided to avoid them entirely.

Alze-beus laughed, but his eyes were cold. "You humans are more cunning than us Devils sometimes. But an ant is still an ant."

Alze-beus then flexed his muscles, bent his knees slightly, and jumped. He arrived instantly near Sara, all six of his arms glowing a dark, ominous red.

[Death Dissolution]

Six hands clapped together, and three red beams were released at point-blank range. It appeared to be another sound attack...

From below, Night could only watch as this happened. He expected Sara to have a countermove, but he hadn’t fully grasped how serious her injuries were.

Instead of any new arrays forming or magic circles appearing, the lens over her right eye flew off and enlarged itself to block the attack as Sara swayed backward.

Night’s eyes widened. At this rate Sara might really die. "NOOOOO!" he screamed.

BOOM!

The entire region was destroyed, leaving nothing behind...

...

Far away on another planet...

"I think you should use God Descent now," [Aqua] said. "The boy might resent you if you let her die..."

[Blaze] was clearly hesitating. "I want to, but will his body survive it? He might just die if something unexpected happens. If I don’t use God Descent, those Devils will most likely let him live just to avoid annoying me."

[Aqua] looked at him for a moment. He was just looking for excuses at this point. "Do as you wish."

[Blaze] sighed. "If you are the one asking, how can I refuse?"

[Aqua]’s eye twitched. She chose to ignore him and returned to watching the fight.

As [Blaze] stood up, countless totems flashed across his upper body. But just as his connection to Night started to strengthen, it was forcibly severed.

Both [Blaze] and [Aqua] felt this, and their eyes narrowed.

Immediately, both of them disappeared from the room. They teleported directly to the edge of the cosmos, right where the new universe was currently merging with their own.

In the distance, the new universe looked like a giant whirlpool composed of innumerable planets, stars, physical matter, dark matter, and countless other cosmic phenomena. It looked like a beautiful piece of art created by existence itself.

Their Cosmos looked similar, but the scale couldn’t be compared.

Like a standard universe, the Cosmos had a core universe at the center, but it was already merged with 106 other universes. The size difference was hundreds of times larger than a single universe. Night’s universe was the 108th to merge with the Cosmos and become one with it.

But it was not the merging universe they were focused on; it was the thing lurking at the edge of their Cosmos.

It was gargantuan, easily larger than hundreds of galaxies put together. It was an almost transparent creature, covered in innumerable tentacles that made it impossible to see the core of the being...

Beside them, another flash of teleportation occurred, and a woman appeared. She had long silver hair and eyes that looked like she hadn’t slept in ages.

"You are here too?" [Blaze] asked.

"How could I not come?" [The Sleepless Sword] replied. "Especially after this creature messed with me and my Chosen."

[Blaze] raised his eyebrows; this was news to him.

He had sensed that [The Sleepless Sword]’s Chosen was on the same planet, but he hadn’t realized they were also attacked by this [Void God].

This would have made things a lot more interesting, if only this abomination wasn’t currently blocking him from helping Night.

Before the situation could escalate, he telepathically told [Aqua] to leave. Since this thing was capable of messing with [The Sleepless Sword], [Aqua] was in danger of becoming a target.

[Aqua] didn’t argue. She nodded at [The Sleepless Sword] and immediately departed. Having been with [Blaze] for almost 107 Eras, she knew when things were out of her league.

[Zethe-thoth] focused its gaze on [The Sleepless Sword]. "hEhE hEhE hEhE, tAsTy fOoD wE mEeT aGaIn."

"Why don’t you come inside so we can settle this?" [The Sleepless Sword] challenged.

[Zethe-thoth] shifted its gaze to [Blaze], pausing on him for a moment longer than necessary before shifting back to [The Sleepless Sword]. "uNfoRtUnAtElY, tOdAy wE wIlL hAvE tO jUsT wAtCh oUr chAmPiOnS fIgHt."

[Blaze] just watched in silence. He knew they were incredibly strong, but the [Void] outside the Cosmos was not a place they could simply enter.

For now, they could only watch.

Unlike what people assumed, [Blaze] was not rash.

For someone with the Fire Aspect, he was usually as cool as a cucumber, but that was only until someone close to him got hurt. When that happened, he would show exactly why people called him [Blaze] and nothing else.

Right now, [Blaze] was calculating how to bypass the blockade and descend.

With the way things were going, he did not like Night’s old, he did think night would survival this without external help.

Even if Night’s physical body couldn’t handle the God Descent for more than a single second, that would be enough time for [Blaze] to pull him out of the universe.

While it was not possible for [Blaze] to personally enter the universe, it was possible to pull his Chosen out.

Of course, that meant any benefits he would have received from Night being a native of a newly born universe would vanish.

But that hardly mattered at this point.

...

As soon as the attack hit the enlarged lens, it cracked.

A second later, it turned to dust. The attack punched straight through and slammed into Sara. She flew backward like a ragdoll and crashed into whatever remained of the ground...

Thud.

Just as Night dashed toward her, Alze-beus looked at him. All twelve of the Devil’s eyes glowed.

[Medusa’s Gaze]

Night froze in place.

His Nightmare Fire, which had appeared immune to everything until now, froze along with him. Slowly, the blackish-purple flames started solidifying, forming a petrified gray outer layer.

But despite the attack’s ability to freeze him, it barely managed to affect him beyond the surface of the flames.

Alze-beus was stunned, his pupils shrinking in disbelief. "You are just a mortal who is barely Level 34... and yet you blocked my attack this easily? This incarnation is Level 200!"

Night almost had a heart attack. Level 200. We are dead. He finally realized just how deep in shit they truly were.

Alze-beus praised him honestly. "You appear much more like a Primordial God’s Chosen to me, unlike that sword-wielding coward who ran the instant things got heated."

"If you wish, I can let you leave, together with that creature," Alze-beus offered. "But this Witch must die. If you agree, I can even drop you off near the city." Alze-beus figured it was better to make a friend than an enemy out of this boy, who clearly looked like the second coming of His Highness Aathan.

Seeing that Night was about to argue, the Devil prepared to convince him further, but [Zethe-thoth] interfered.

"kIlL hIm, I wAnT tO eAt hIm."

Alze-beus cursed his shit luck.

He guessed that in his previous life, he must have destroyed a world to be plagued by such bullshit luck now.

Sighing, he said, "That is what I wanted to offer. But... the Supreme God [Zethe-thoth] wants to eat you."

He purposefully said it out loud. He knew the Primordial God [Blaze] must be watching, and he wanted the God to know that what happened next was not his own decision.

Immediately, Night felt a chill run down his spine as he felt death approaching.

Just as it happened, the White-Scaled Ouroboros tattoo at the pit of his throat shined lightly and vanished.

In a flash, Alze-beus, who had been floating high above, disappeared. He reappeared right in front of Night and threw a punch.

Seeing the attack coming, Night already knew it was impossible to survive it.

But at that exact moment, Sara, who had been lying flat on the ground, moved.

She flickered and appeared right in front of Night. The punch that should have blown him to bits struck Sara instead.

It blew a massive hole straight through her body. Next moment everything below her chest region disappeared in an instant, but it had managed to block the attack.

"NOOOOOOOOO!" Night screamed.
