I Just Wanted Friends, But My Summons Keep Eating the Bosses (ND)

Chapter 147: Watch as I, the mighty RANGO, SOLO THIS ENTIRE PLANET

Looking at them, Night realized killing them was not worth the effort.

All the excitement had dispersed like smoke, leaving him feeling annoyed.

Nightmare Mist drifted from his body, cloaking him first before slowly spreading into the surroundings.

The group of pursuers froze in shock. They were all somewhat capable evolvers, and they had seen this exact same mist blanket the city border the previous week. If not for the barrier of Dream City, all that would have remained was barren land.

The wasteland surrounding Dream City was living proof of that.

Some of them started begging for mercy on the spot.

"Shit, it is the same mist!"

"I apologize, senior! Please spare my life!"

"Please let me live! I was forced to come here by my master!"

"I am willing to be your slave, please spare me!"

"You can have my body, you can ravage me, just please let me live!"

Seeing Night remain unmoved as the blackish purple mist expanded, one man realized that it was not just their group in danger, but the entire city.

Once this monster was done slaughtering them, it would definitely turn its claws toward the rest of Dream City.

Thud.

The man threw himself flat on the ground and kowtowed furiously.

"Please forgive us, Great Ancestor! This lowly one failed to recognize Mount Tai!"

Then he raised his head, his forehead bleeding onto the stone, his face flushed red with indignation as he screamed at the others.

"What are you bastards doing gawking at his holiness? Stop staining his visage with your filthy eyes!"

After shouting that, he slammed his head into the ground again and again like a broken record.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Many in the crowd were convinced by his desperation and followed his example, though their kowtowing was far less dramatic.

By now, almost everyone was either wailing for mercy or slamming their foreheads against the ground shamelessly.

Meanwhile, some of the smarter once quietly made a run for it, noticing that Night showed no real desire to run rampant in the city streets.

Seeing that Night did not strike them down, even the ones who had been begging on their knees scrambled to their feet and fled in terror.

Soon, only the dedicated kowtowing gang remained, leaving Night with no choice but to speak.

"Leave. There will be no second chance."

He purposefully deepened and distorted his voice heighten the impact.

They did not need to be told twice. They scrambled away in every direction, not caring about their dignity in the slightest.

The bald man who had started the kowtowing craze ran like he had just achieved nirvana.

The glow of relief on his face as he sprinted ahead of everyone else was blinding. It certainly did not hurt that his bald scalp caught the sunlight.

Once the area was deserted, Night dispersed the Nightmare Mist and sighed in relief.

He had been genuinely embarrassed by their shameless behavior toward the end, and he made a mental note of it.

Maybe one day I can use that tactic too, Night mused. Since it managed to fluster me so easily, it would surely work on others as well.

He stood there for a few seconds longer.

A tear in space opened before him, and he stepped through without hesitation.

...

Back inside the training hall of Nightmare Castle, the main body of Night stood holding Blade in his hand as he watched the clone return safely.

He smiled softly. "I am getting better at this."

He practiced the spatial cut two more times, and both attempts succeeded smoothly. He looked at the four clones he had brought back into the hall.

He had learned how to split space using his own clones as spatial anchors.

While it was not versatile yet, it gave him insights into how to teleport to places he had already visited, and perhaps with enough practice, to locations he had never set foot in before.

With these thoughts in mind, he sat cross legged on his mat.

The four clones did not remain idle.

One sat cross legged just like the original body and projected its consciousness into the Soul Space.

It went to Lucy, who was busy practicing illusion arrays. Night had received fragmented knowledge about arrays from Alzebeus, and now he possessed the soul of Baron Wispr, who had been exceptionally proficient arrays.

He wanted to see how arrays functioned while also spending some quality time with Lucy.

Meanwhile, the other three clones conjured wooden blades and began sparring diligently to the side.

...

Outside in the city streets, the traveling clone of Night with Jeffy and Teffy reached the city gate.

Rogan had chosen not to join them, claiming he needed to look after the guild hall while they were away.

When the guards stationed at the gate saw Night approaching, their bodies turned rigid, standing stiff like statues.

Teffy noticed the bizarre reaction and cast a curious glance at the boy.

Once they stepped outside the city walls, Night’s lips twitched when he sensed the wave of relief washing over the soldiers though the Domain, as though they had just escaped an apocalypse.

Taking the lead, the group ran continuously for two hours.

Along the way, whatever monsters crossed their path were instantly pulverized into paste by Teffy.

The man did not even activate any fancy skills, relying purely on physical strength and martial technique. But that monstrous power was more than enough to deal with the monsters.

Night already knew Teffy was a summon; the man had admitted it during their small talk along the road.

Night tilted his head up and looked at the rows of mountains. They stood in a clean, geometric formation that looked entirely unnatural to his eyes.

Twelve smaller peaks encircled a massive central mountain that stood easily a thousand kilometers tall.

It made him wonder why they had only spotted it once they drew near. Something of such colossal scale should have been clearly visible even from the walls of Dream City.

Jeffy narrowed his dark eyes as he studied the rocky peaks, considering the dangers that might await them. "It is some kind of natural concealment formation that makes it impossible to spot from afar. In fact, the very fact that we can see it from ten kilometers away is a testament to our high perception."

"Is that not why we are here?" Teffy asked with a grin. "We finally found a capable teammate." He tried to smack Jeffy on the shoulder, but Jeffy deftly sidestepped.

Night found their constant bickering amusing. Their relaxed chatter along the trail had made the journey quite pleasant.

Looking at the mountainous terrain, Night tapped his chin thoughtfully with his thumb and forefinger.

On their way here, they had barely encountered any monsters, which was unusual in a world plagued by dungeon outbreaks.

He had already deduced that his main body had unknowingly culled the local monster population during his rampage, leaving him to wonder just how far his main body had expanded at that time.

However, that extermination should not apply to this specific mountain range.

If his guess was correct, this mountain cluster possessed a barrier like the Dream City that kept the outside calamity at bay.

A dark portal opened beside Night, and Lucy stepped out. The portal itself had mutated in color, now shimmering in blackish purple colour, mirroring his Nightmare Mist.

Jeffy and Teffy stared at the young boy in astonishment.

"You are a summoner?" Jeffy asked in disbelief.

This boy is already a walking disaster on his own, and he is a summoner too? Jeffy thought.

What a dangerous combination.

Lucy swept her golden eyes across the two men, deemed them uninteresting, and promptly ignored them.

She turned her gaze toward the peaks, studying the terrain for a few quiet moments before speaking.

"These peaks are arranged specifically to camouflage the central mountain. The twelve surrounding peaks are being obscured by a separate illusion."

Night nodded in agreement. "So there really is something fishy going on here. I thought it was very suspicious that a landmass this massive could sit right next to Dream City and remain undiscovered."

"You mean anyone who actually found it never lived to talk about it?" Jeffy asked.

"Yes," Night replied. "Which makes me wonder how the two of you managed to avoid detection. From what you told me, you two crossed into one of the outer mountains earlier."

Teffy rubbed his nose sheepishly. "We were detected, all right. We just ran like hell and shook them off."

Jeffy beside him clicked his tongue in annoyance.

Lucy narrowed her eyes and sniffed the mountain breeze. "Hostile monsters incoming. They are gathering at the base of the mountain."

...

Meanwhile, inside a cave within a nearby mountain, Rango stood surrounded by ten female wolves, his harem.

Every single one of them was covered in wounds, quietly licking their injuries to recover.

Rango’s previous magnificent appearance was nowhere to be found. Right now, his scarred body looked like a poorly stitched voodoo doll.

Suddenly, his ears twitched, and his snout flared as he tested the mountain air.

He sniffed intently and muttered, "I smell a familiar scent nearby."

Rani, the elegant white wolf beside him, looked up wearily. "Is it someone from our home world?"

Rango shook his head. Even that minor movement caused him a tremendous amount of agony, prompting him to curse loudly. "Fuck!"

Rani stared at him in utter disbelief. "We are in such a precarious situation, and that is all you can think about?"

The other nine wolves also cast disapproving glares at their pack leader aka Husband.

They genuinely believed he had lost all hope of survival and simply wanted to go out in a blaze of shameless glory.

Rango glared back at them in annoyance when he realised their what they thinking

"No, you idiots! Not that! The pain in my neck! Forget it.... We need to go check who this is. My instincts are telling me this newcomer is our only ticket out of this accursed mountain range."

Rani scoffed loudly. "And why exactly do you think we are trapped here in the first place? Did you really have to strut back into the territory and run your arrogant mouth at the other tribe leaders?"

Another female wolf mocked him, mimicking his haughty tone with dripping sarcasm. "Pathetic losers who cannot even defeat a tiny human child! Watch as I, the mighty RANGO, SOLO THIS ENTIRE PLANET!"

Toward the end of her sentence, her voice rose to an irritated screech.

A third wolf rested her chin on her paws, her tone with depression. "We could not even secure a single valley. At least back on our home world, we had a proper territory. Now we are stranded on an alien planet, running and hiding in caves like homeless dogs."
