At the edge of the Cosmos.

[Blaze] and [The Sleepless Sword] narrowed their eyes. The way Night moved and felt now was vastly different from before.

"Possession?" [The Sleepless Sword] asked. "But this feels more like a God Descent."

[Blaze] didn’t reply. He watched closely, his thoughts unknown.

...

Alze-beus saw that [Zethe-thoth] was taking his sweet time. The Devil opened his mouths and fired a massive red beam.

[Crimson Ruin]

[Zethe-thoth] smirked, entered the Void, and hid his body in the deeper layers of space. The attack simply passed through his afterimage and struck directly where Night was floating.

BOOM!

Night dodged it at the last second, and the attack hit the ground instead.

Upon contact, the beam created a crater in the already devastated land. The hole was smooth. If one looked closely, they wouldn’t even be able to see its end.

[Zethe-thoth] and Alze-beus turned to look at the boy, who was now standing some distance away from them.

The last movement was so fast that it almost felt like teleportation.

Something like this shouldn’t be possible, even if it was a God Descent. They couldn’t see any signs of his body being overloaded by the overwhelming energy of a God.

But he was clearly not himself. The clearest indication was his aura, which had changed entirely, alongside the purple eyes that faintly glowed from his half-opened eyelids.

No matter how good a God was at controlling their power, perfectly possessing a mortal vessel without strain shouldn’t be possible.

This made both of them wary, though for completely different reasons.

[Zethe-thoth] was wary because of what this situation implied, as this was not his first time encountering something like this.

Alze-beus, on the other hand, was wary because of the message he had received from His Highness Aathan some time ago.

His Highness’s message had been simple: Planet Earth is blocked. No God Descent is possible. Report Back Immediately.

The message was clear. While it looked like it was filled with concern for his well-being, it was anything but that. So naturally, Alze-beus ignored it as if he hadn’t received it at all.

If a God Descent was impossible... then what exactly was this?

The boy, who looked half asleep, finally opened his eyes fully.

His aura, which had already changed, mutated even further until it became bizarre. It didn’t feel like it belonged to a single person, but rather a chaotic mass of collective consciousness.

[Zethe-thoth] was the first to speak. Unlike Alze-beus, he was not affected much. "Who might you be? You are clearly not the owner of this body..."

The boy tilted his head and looked at [Zethe-thoth] with purple pupliless eyes.

To Alze-beus, it was a simple action, yet it felt wrong on a fundamental level. The body language didn’t match the figure of the young boy. It felt too feminine.

[Zethe-thoth] immediately corrected his question, though his curiosity remained. "Which Goddess might you be?"

[Dream], now in full control of Night’s body, sighed. "It doesn’t matter who I am, does it?"

[Zethe-thoth] smiled, though the aura around him started to pick up in intensity. "I suppose you are right."

Alze-beus finally asked the only question that mattered to him. "Where is the plant?"

Meeting [Dream]’s gaze, Alze-beus clarified, "The plant on the throne."

She immediately lost interest in him and was about to focus back on [Zethe-thoth] when Alze-beus continued. "If you give me that, then I am willing to team up with you to defeat him." He pointed directly at [Zethe-thoth], whose smile deepened.

[Dream] looked like she was holding back a chuckle. She asked [Zethe-thoth], "He has no clue, does he?"

The area around [Zethe-thoth] looked like it would crumble from the sheer aura he was releasing, yet the Void God replied with a twisted smile, "It appears so."

Alze-beus raged when he saw how the two seemed to look down on him. Time and again he was being disrespected. He had enough of it and he was done holding back. He figured he could always find out what they meant from their corpses.

His size grew. 750 meters. 1 kilometer. 3 kilometers. 7 kilometers... He only stopped expanding when he reached a towering 10 kilometers in height.

In front of him, both of them looked no different from ants.

His aura exploded outward without any restraint. The mouths on his colossal body gulped in unison, and immediately, all the mana in the entire region was sucked into him.

From afar, he looked far more like a true God than the other two.

He didn’t waste time talking. Instead, he swung a massive fist that glowed violently yellow at both of them.

[Yellow Devastation]

BOOOOOMMMMMM!

...

In the Dream City.

Arthur, Zora, and the army stationed at the city wall felt relieved when the Blackish-Purple Mist finally retreated.

But when the mist cleared and they were finally able to see the barren land devoid of all life, they reeled in horror.

The region outside Dream City was supposed to be a plethora of life.

The whole area was previously filled with dangerous monsters above Level 70. Normal people rarely ventured there; only the true powerhouses dared to farm in that place, while others used the controlled Dungeons within the city to level up.

The jungle had been teeming with countless monsters like Water Cat Crawlers, Poison Tigers, Wind Lions, Fire Wolves, Mist Storm and Insects.

Yes, insects.

The area had been dominated by their kind. They were small in size, but they were strong enough that even someone like Zora, who was now the first Demigod from humanity, could not go there carelessly.

A whole ecosystem had formed there with insects like Crimson Red Bugs, Bloodthirsty Butterflies, Mana Sucking Flies, Illusion Ants, and much more. Much much more.

But right now, none of them remained.

The forest-filled area that spanned hundreds of kilometers was now nothing more than an wasteland.

Because of this, their Dream City now stood out like a sore thumb amid the desolation.

Just when everyone was celebrating how lucky they were to have a city barrier that protected them, they saw it: a colossal monster that towered higher than the skyscrapers they had read about in their history books.

Pitch black in color, with eyes and mouths covering its entire body, the Devil looked like a God of Destruction.

The army at the city walls looked on, completely dumbfounded.

Many of them shivered uncontrollably, some tripped and fell backward, and a few even realized their pants were suddenly wet. Despite going through unimaginable hardships since, this sight still shook them to their very core.

"Oh my god..."

"How is that pos... possible..."

"Impossible..."

"Is that a God?"

"Haha... haha... haha..."

"Please tell me I am dreaming..."

"Which idiot though it was a good idea to play Holi" as he looked at his wet pants

"Who dropped water on my pants?"

"I want to know as well, mine feel wet too..."

"Is this the end...?"

If not for the City’s protective arrays, they might have already broken rank and started running.

Arthur held his sword tighter, refusing to leave the city walls, as [The Sleepless Sword] had instructed him. He really wanted to jump in and fight, if not for some poetic justice but atleast to let the Nightmare World Seed know he was willing to redeem himself.

Besides him, Zora could sense that something related to the Dream Aspect was located in the exact same direction as the huge Devil. From someone with Dream and Nightmare Aspect like her the aura was impossible to ignore.

...

As soon as Alze-beus’s fist connected, the land trembled violently, and two new craters were formed. The whole region was instantly covered in a thick blanket of dust.

Alze-beus didn’t stop. He attacked again. He sensed his initial attack had been dodged, and while [Dream] and [Zethe-thoth] were hidden behind the dust, he locked onto their exact locations using his Spirit Sense.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Every single attack was charged with [Yellow Devastation] and backed by the terrifying power of a Devil Monarch.

His aura could be felt from thousands of kilometers away. Monsters and other beings who sensed it immediately hid themselves or started running in the opposite direction, terrified of being caught in the crossfire.

Seeing that his punches were getting him nowhere, all the mouths on Alze-beus’s body inhaled deeply.

[Zethe-thoth] looked at this and was about to interrupt, but realized it was already too late.

Screeeeeeee!

A horrific scream escaped the countless mouths covering Alze-beus’s body. The air trembled, the sky darkened, and the land felt like it was being ripped apart.

Spatial rifts and space cracks appeared throughout the surrounding regions.

Unfortunately the targets [Zethe-thoth] and [Dream] escaped relatively unscathed.

Annoyed just as Alze-beus launched another attack, his gigantic body suddenly lurched forward as if it had been hit by a speeding train.

His colossal body flew forward and fell flat on the soil as he felt a sharp pain in his spine.

The culprit was [Zethe-thoth]. "Tsk, what a troublesome soul attack." The previous scream had caught him slightly off guard; it had almost exorcised his consciousness right out of Vikram’s body.

Luckily, he had reacted quickly and shielded his soul in time.

Moving his gaze from the fallen Devil, he looked at the boy, who was still floating in the air lazily, as if all of this was entirely beneath him.

Before [Zethe-thoth] could continue, Alze-beus raged.

Realizing how unsightly his display was while lying flat on the ground, his body twisted unnaturally so his heads faced upwards, and he screamed again.

Sreeeeeeee!

Unfortunately for him, this time [Zethe-thoth] was prepared for it.

The attack strong enough to kill stronge Emperors and evensome weak Monarchs passed by [Zethe-thoth] as if it were a breeze.

To make matters worse, [Zethe-thoth] could feel the boy backing away. He had already crossed a considerable distance in the blink of an eye.

Even Alze-beus noticed this. He and [Zethe-thoth] locked eyes for a brief moment, and as if operating on a previous agreement, they both chased after the boy.

[Dream], currently controlling Night’s body, ran. Each step left behind small wisps of Dream Mist as she effortlessly crossed tens of kilometers in a single bound.

In no time, they were thousands of kilometers away from the Dream City.

[Dream] did this deliberately because she was not entirely sure how sturdy the city’s defenses actually were.

The level of this fight was so high that a single stray exchange had the strength to level the entire city. A tiny mistake and the Dream City would disappear from the map of Earth forever.

That was why she was running. Not too fast, so that they could easily keep up, but not too slow, so as to avoid being caught.

When she felt they were a sufficient distance away, she finally stopped and looked back.

[Zethe-thoth] arrived first, followed by the colossal Alze-beus the next moment.
