Chapter 110: Soul Cultivation Technique
Night went through the information in his mind.
Body refinement didn’t follow the same process as Qi Cultivation.
The technique he was using was called the [Dream Body Manual].
There were a lot of body refinement techniques in his memory, courtesy of [Dream]. While her primary motive was to transmit the [Dream Sutra] to him, she had transmitted other cultivation techniques as well.
The two he was currently using were the Dream Sutra and the Dream Body Manual.
These were the techniques cultivated and refined by [Dream] herself during her cultivation journey in life.
The other techniques were ones she had collected, some she thought were good, and many she had just used as references.
The Dream Sutra and Dream Body Manual were both techniques that could be cultivated all the way to the Immortal King Stage.
The Immortal King Stage was something too far away for him; in fact, this was his first time hearing there were stages after becoming an Immortal. Previously, he had thought Immortal was the peak of this universe, but apparently, it was not so.
This meant the Divine Path also didn’t end with becoming a God. There were likely stages beyond becoming a God as well.
To be honest, he didn’t have much desire to cultivate or evolve after becoming a God or an Immortal.
Maybe when he reached that stage, he would refine a body for [Dream] and just go chill in a quiet corner of the universe. Maybe he would go to the universe of his Patron God and settle there under his protection.
He was not dumb. While he wasn’t a cultivation maniac, others weren’t the same. There were probably people out there who did all kinds of things to get stronger. If the cosmos was peaceful, [Dream] wouldn’t be living in his Soul Space rent-free.
"Tsk," [Dream] scoffed.
[Blaze] was a Primordial God, so being under his protection might be the best way to live out his days. It would be nice to grow old with his friends.
"That’s a much better goal than the stupid one [Blaze] is trying to push you into," [Dream] said.
"Is saving the world not good?" Night asked.
"It’s good as long as it’s not something that will cost too much," [Dream] replied. "But usually, people who try to become saviors die early or lose everything they cherish in doing so."
Night hummed in thought. "I guess you’re right. As long as it’s not much trouble, I’ll do it."
"Good..."
Back to Body Refinement. The Dream Body Manual had four stages in Rank 1: Basic Refinement, Advanced Refinement, Master Refinement, and Perfect Refinement.
Right now, as the Qi nourished and refined his body, he was already close to reaching Basic Refinement. He could already feel the changes; he was becoming stronger and stronger as the seconds passed.
Previously while he was cultivating, he found an interesting use for Hive Mind.
When he was giving commands and cultivating simultaneously, it felt like he had two minds rather than one. When he asked Zero what it was, she explained it was normal, a quality of the Hive Mind skill.
Since the soldiers, the kings, and all the workers in the Insect Kingdom depended on the matriarch queen for instruction, this skill helped them split their minds and multitask easily.
Hive Mind allowed the matriarchs to divide their consciousness to work individually. Of course, she warned that this was risky; there was a chance the split minds might develop an ego of their own.
To overcome this, they assigned one part of the mind solely to managing the split minds.
Zero taught him how to do it. It was incredibly convenient to have a Matriarch Queen as a friend.
So, Night split his mind into five parts. It was quite easy when he did it, probably because the system skill smoothed out the process for him.
First part: Managing the overall mind.
Second part: Commanding his friends in battle.
Third part: Energy Cultivation. Though he had reached the peak of Qi Awakening, he could still refine his energies and stabilize his foundation.
Fourth part: Body Refinement.
Fifth part: Sifting through information.
With the help of the Throne, it was easy to shift across the incoming information. Right now, he was looking for a good Soul Cultivation technique.
Surprisingly, [Dream] didn’t have a Soul Cultivation technique of her own. This was not because she didn’t cultivate her soul and mind, but because she never needed to.
Her Dream Soul Physique was a ridiculous physique. Unlike his stupid physique that caused him endless disasters, hers was actually useful. The specialty of her physique was that the owner’s soul would always be ten times stronger than their body and energy.
That was insane. Unlike other Cultivators who needed to manually cultivate Energy, Body, and Soul, [Dream] only needed to cultivate her Energy and Body, and her Soul would naturally follow.
It was not without reason that her Dream Soul Physique was ranked 5th among all the physiques that existed across the cosmos.
Surprisingly, his physique was also ranked, just not on the usual list. It was ranked under Taboo Physiques, sitting at number 21.
This meant his physique was not the most miserable one in the cosmos. There were twenty physiques that were worse. It brought him some small consolation to know there were others out there more miserable than him.
Back to the Soul Cultivation technique. Though [Dream] didn’t have a personal one, she did transmit to him all the ones she had come across.
He went through all of them. A few caught his attention because they were Immortal King Grade Soul Cultivation techniques, meaning he could use them to cultivate all the way to the Immortal King rank.
[Nine Lightning Hell Soul Refinement Art] (Immortal King Grade): Using the lightning from Hell to refine the soul and transform it into an Immortal Soul.
"Sheesh, that sounds like a masochistic type of technique," Night muttered. "Next."
[Mortal Suffering Immortal Freedom Soul Manual] (Immortal King Grade): Going through the sufferings of mortals to cultivate an Immortal Freedom Soul.
"Suffering? Next..." Night sighed.
[Heavenly Wind Tribulations Soul Art] (Immortal King Grade): Using Heaven’s Tribulations to cultivate a Wind Tribulation Soul. To transcend the heavens, one must resist them first.
"Resist them with what? My soul? This one sounds more painful than the others... Next."
[Demonic Soul Sutra] (Immortal King Grade): Indulging in the 7 Desires to cultivate the Demonic Soul.
"Hmm, this one looks nice..." Night mumbled.
"What are you mumbling?" [Blaze] suddenly asked.
"Nothing, just going through the Soul Cultivation techniques," Night replied.
"Oh, which one?" [Blaze] asked, interested. "I hope you don’t cultivate anything below Immortal Grade, especially for a Soul Cultivation technique."
"The Demonic Soul Sutra. It’s Immortal King Grade."
"I would not recommend that, even though it seems you have the full technique," [Blaze] warned. "Which is weird, since from what I know, the Soul Demon King would rather die than spread his technique."
"I got it from a legacy," Night explained.
"Was it the legacy of [Dream]?" [Blaze] probed.
Night paused. "Yes, how did you find out?"
Night had never mentioned [Dream] once. Since she had asked him to hide her existence from [Blaze] for some reason, he was very careful about what he said out loud. He had also warned his friends.
The last time he had talked about [Dream] in the Nightmare Castle, [Dream] had used some techniques to hide him from [Blaze] somehow. From what [Dream] told him, right up until [Blaze] had pulled him into his Divine Realm, she had been able to hide many things about him.
After he became a Chosen, it became impossible.
"Your cultivation technique gave it away," [Blaze] stated.
"Is it that obvious?" Night asked.
[Blaze] "No, I just have sharp eyes. Anyway, [Dream] had the Dream Soul Physique, so you must not have a proper Soul Cultivation technique from what I can tell."
Its seems he knew about her physique.
"Yes, but I have a lot of other techniques, so I think I can manage. Most of them are Immortal Grade," Night said.
"Why don’t you use my Soul Cultivation technique?" [Blaze] suggested.
Night’s eyes brightened. Why hadn’t he thought about that? Excitedly, he asked, "What is the technique? Is it suitable for me?"
"It is suitable. Both of my main Soul Cultivation techniques, in fact..."
"Two? Can’t we only cultivate one technique?" Night asked. Did something change in the Primordial God realm? he thought.
"Yes, it’s just one technique, but I created a variant of the one I use," [Blaze] explained. "Not all my descendants were able to cultivate my main one, so I tweaked it a bit for them. It ended up becoming a different type of technique in the end..."
"What are they?" Night asked.
"[Fire Soul Sutra] is the variant one which a lot of my descendants use. It focuses on damage and survivability, with some of the techniques even allowing one to rebirth from the dead."
Night blinked. Rebirth from the dead? That seemed completely OP.
[Blaze] continued. "As for the one I use... it is the [Totem Soul Sutra]."
