I’m an Adventurer! ~Musou Skill is Plane Magic~
Episode 186: Let's go, the deepest part of Raptor Island!
First, take a quick look, and if there's anything unusual, you might want to go there. It should be more efficient than exploring the dark clouds. So I fly the carriage (...) around the island.
"You don't have a big tree."
"Maybe they don't have a pulse. Rain alone will limit growth."
Christella hugs me and leaves me blindfolded (...). As always, it is a countermeasure against altitude phobia, but the situation seems to be understandable with the digitization of "balance magic".
Certainly, there is no big tree that seems to have held a flying stone with some animation. The slopes of the island are lined with shrubs less than five metres long, and branches are thin. There are no rivers or ponds in sight, so I don't suppose this island has a water vein. Without water, trees can't grow.
"There are quite a few big holes around here, but is that the bird's nest?
"Yeah, maybe. There are blue signs of a flying dragon in the back, so I'm sure of it."
There are occasional holes about three metres in diameter in the slopes of the island. I sent the particles in and checked them out, and it looks like they're about ten meters into the back. It's hard to understand because of the acceleration control magic and wind magic that cover the island, but I can feel the signs of a flying dragon from there. Apparently, the flying dragon digs holes in the slope to make a nest.
Not only flying dragons, but the ecology of monsters is largely unknown, except for some domesticated ones. If you try to find out, you'll get eaten. Even if it turns out that the flying dragon's nest is a slope hole, it may be valuable information for mankind. I already know the information that the meat is delicious and I've checked it.
Baby, are you a little 'intimidated'? You're not coming out at all, Fai-lone. "
Well... I don't think it's good enough meat to kill useless creatures. "
As Samantha pointed out, the flying dragon trying to come out of the back of the hole is atrophied by sending a killer gas with a pinpoint. It's a real mole slap. No, we're closer to shooting guns. Shooting of the Wyburn?
The carriage is full of endless souvenir seafood and frozen dragon meat. I can't put it on any more, and it's a waste to dispose of it. You won't have to hunt anymore.
Besides, the dragon should be the apex of the ecosystem around here. Too much hunting may disrupt ecosystem balance. The closer the organism is to the apex of the ecosystem, the greater the environmental impact even a small increase or decrease in population. We need a planned dragon catcher.
"A child adventurer who's afraid of flying dragons... I think something's wrong."
"... that you knew the fear of the dragon being eaten."
"Oh, but I can't help it because it's delicious. Ufufu"
Hmm, I'm near the apex of the ecosystem, too. Which could have a huge impact on the surroundings when I'm gone. Let's live hard. I don't think it's possible that living now will have a negative impact on the environment.
"Ah, there's a big cave over there, too. Is that the Dragonfly's nest, too?
Approximately half the way around the island, Kikka discovered a huge cave in the slopes of the middle of the mountain. Driftstone sea elf, good eyes.
The cave is about five meters tall and eight meters wide, and is formed into a beautiful arch, with a balcony-like square in front of it. It looks like it was made artificially. It seems that the back is quite deep and cannot be seen in the dark. Hmm.
"I don't think there are any dragons here. It seems pretty deep in the back. All right, let's get down there."
"It's your first landing on Raptor Island without a trace! Beat's name will be added to the history page again!
"It seems that the history of this era is filled with just your name."
"Ah! That's right, Samantha! Driftstone, you know!!"
No, I think my name's still only on the aristocratic list. I do a lot of things, but basically I do it in hiding.
Well, if you're an adventurer (...), it's not strange to aim for a place without a trace. Achieving the great achievement of the first arrival will leave a name in history, and if records are kept, they will be evaluated as a document.
But I'm an adventurer. It's more business than business. It's more a profit than an honor, a treasure. Anything good?
◇
The cave is slowly descending, drawing a gentle spiral clockwise. Looks like we're heading towards the center of the island. The ground is flat as leveled, with some pebbles, but there is no problem driving the carriage.
I don't feel anything from the tip of the cave. If I'm right, that's for sure.
"Well then, don't let anybody out of the carriage. I don't know what's going on."
"Ugh, I can't help it. I'll put up with the view from the podium."
"Pee, Pee is with my daddy!"
For safety's sake, I want everybody to move by carriage. Me and Woo and Pee are the only ones out there. The carriage is flat to the bottom, so unless I die in one blow, everybody won't get pinched suddenly.
I really want Woo and Pee to stay in the carriage, but I'm afraid of getting stressed out and getting run over. I was in the carriage the whole time I climbed up. Wu hasn't even participated in the Dragonfly Battle. Well, I couldn't help but fight.
If you act suddenly, I may not be able to support you in time. In that case, it would be easier to keep it outside from the beginning and support it with planar magic from the beginning.
Everyone can get out the same way, but from here on out, it's an unknown territory. I want to preserve my magic as much as possible. The same goes for everyone else's magic.
If my predictions are correct, I might not be able to protect everyone if I were to fight the strong magic owners ahead. In order to increase everyone's chances of survival, it is better to preserve the magic as much as possible.
"Why are you so dangerous? I can't imagine a guy you can't beat."
"I'm not invincible either. Squid and scallops are natural enemies."
"Little fish and insects... strong people are different from our weaknesses."
"Deception."
"Umiyah, but I didn't have to be the boss at the time. I was scared even of fish lovers."
"I don't know, I don't know if I'm going through this."
"What do you mean? Tell me more, tell me more."
"(Kokoku)"
"Ufufu, that's right. That was....."
What a story everyone is talking about. Me and Woo-chan and Pee-chan go deeper into the cave. So far, I have not encountered any traps or monsters. Sometimes there are signs of flying dragons, but from the other side of the outer wall. There must be a hole dug up close to the cave.
Woo-chan is running around me, smelling the smell of the ground from time to time and chasing Pee-chan. Looks like fun. I can count on you to put me in alert mode as soon as danger is imminent.
Pee-chan and Woo-chan are circling around with me, or without stopping them, falling against the wall in the darkness that doesn't reach the light. Are you a bird's eye after all? I don't get injured because it is coated in a flat surface, but it is a little cute to come back with a pen bouncing with tearful eyes.
While doing so, it appears that we have reached the end.
The end point of the cave was a square hall of about 100 meters beautifully maintained with white stone. The ceiling will be about twenty meters high. No seams are visible on the floor or ceiling.
Pillars about one meter in diameter are arranged at equal intervals of about ten meters. The material looks the same as the floor or ceiling, but you still can't see any seams. It must have been made of earth magic.
And on the wall in the opposite direction from where we came in, there was a door with a canon that was as big as reaching the ceiling. The surface seems to have a fine sculpture, but it's a little too abstract to know what is engraved.
"Is this... a temple?
Christella looked around and groaned with a sigh. It was quiet, but it echoed strangely loudly in the quiet hall.
And maybe that's the right answer. But only half. I don't know what God's temple is. At least you're not a major god. But you should know that from now on. Go beyond that door.
Now, let's go worship the gods.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
