I Married the President

Today, the results of yesterday’s assessment were to be announced. Many contestants were filled with anticipation, especially those who had received high scores.

As the head examiner, Claire Sinclair picked up the microphone and called out the contestants one by one to give them their scorecards.

Only after she had finished did she begin to speak. "These scores are a summary of your performance yesterday. For those of you with single-digit scores, you’ll have to keep working hard."

After the four lucky contestants were announced, everyone thought that segment was over. But Claire Sinclair suddenly raised her microphone and said in a low voice:

"Based on the contestants’ performance yesterday, I will now exercise my exclusive right as the Artistic Ethics Mentor to grant a direct pass to the finals. The three contestants I am promoting are Leonard Bishop, Liam Linden, and Leo Lynch."

Cecily Taylor couldn’t take it anymore and spoke up. "Professor Sinclair, you need to explain this. Why do you have this right and we don’t?"

Claire Sinclair smiled. "Doing good deeds is not about opportunistic scheming. The three people I chose were the only ones who understood the true meaning of this assessment. This shows that their artistic ethics are up to par. As the Artistic Ethics Mentor, I don’t look at talent, only character. It’s as simple as that."

"In that case, the three of us mentors should also have the right to grant direct passes. We can’t let you be the only one making these decisions," Cecily Taylor continued to argue.

Claire Sinclair chuckled. "The prerequisite for that is being the Artistic Ethics Mentor."

"You—" Cecily Taylor started to say something else, but Mimi Fisher suddenly cut in:

"We performers don’t even know if our own artistic ethics are up to snuff, so what right do we have to be the artistic ethics mentor for others? Professor Sinclair is a senior reporter for the Astoria Daily. It’s perfectly reasonable for her to be the one assessing the students’ artistic ethics.

Or have you still not realized that Reporter Sinclair isn’t here to give you scores? She’s here to serve as the moral supervisor for all of us. How could you not see that?"

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone fell silent.

Claire Sinclair quickly stepped forward. "Everyone, let’s calm down. The sixth episode, which airs tomorrow night, will reveal the moral assessments I’ve conducted on you over the first three rounds. Then you’ll understand why some people got high scores, some got low scores, and some were even eliminated for seemingly no reason. Now, I’ll ask Professor Fisher to announce the next task."

The next task was a talent assessment. The contestants were divided into seven groups. Based on the previous round’s rankings, the top seven contestants automatically became team captains, and the other contestants could choose which team to join.

In the previous round’s rankings, Leonard Bishop had placed first, surpassing Liam Linden for the first time ever.

However, for a long time, no one joined Leonard Bishop’s team.
