I Read Their Tragic Fates, and My Family Reads My Mind?

Chapter 307: They Also Kind of Wanted to See

At Arabella Donovan’s words, the Donovan Family couldn’t hold it in any longer and burst out laughing. Ron Cole and the others, who had been patiently watching the scene unfold, also struggled to keep a straight face.

But when the laughter died down, the mood in the room grew heavy, and everyone’s expression was tinged with a mix of stifled frustration and gloom.

It was laughable to even talk about certain people and events, yet they had somehow become real. And for most people, that reality was an inescapable, cataclysmic disaster.

"Mr. Cole, are you suspecting that in today’s car accident, besides that Mr. Vaughn, these people were also helping from behind the scenes?"

"It’s a possibility."

The members of the Donovan Family, however, especially Dennis Donovan, already had a definitive answer in their hearts.

"I’m sure of it. This person only got in touch with Mr. Vaughn in the last two weeks. It has to be that damn Jacobs. When he saw he couldn’t get the upper hand with Justin, and his attempt to pull a fast one backfired, he couldn’t swallow his anger and shifted his target to Serena."

Perhaps it was because Dennis Donovan had been retired for so many years, but his sensitivity to danger had dulled.

He had assumed that with Vincent Vaughn and the mastermind dealt with, Arabella Donovan would be safe, especially since she was in Brynn, right under his nose. But he never imagined...

Guinevere Preston, keenly aware of her husband’s emotional shift, patted his hand comfortingly.

Dennis Donovan took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, "This matter must be thoroughly investigated. We need to give Serena and the other two victims the justice they deserve."

"Even if you hadn’t said it, we would have to investigate this thoroughly. Dangerous elements like these should not be allowed to remain on our peaceful soil."

Now that the two most powerful men in the room had spoken, one could only imagine the fate awaiting Jasper Jacobs—especially since his biggest backer had already fallen.

Arabella Donovan, on the other hand, was curious. She wondered if this so-called male lead, this "chosen one," could really use his plot armor to evade the police’s multi-layered pursuit.

If he couldn’t, and the male lead ended up behind bars, would the female lead, Claire Bishop, still follow the original plot and give birth to the child safely, or...

’Ah, that’s not right. Claire Bishop should be six or seven months pregnant by now, right? It’s too late to not have the baby, so she’ll definitely give birth. The only question is, once a "clinging vine" female lead like her loses the male lead she depends on to survive, will she be strong and raise the child alone, or will she just abandon the kid and find someone else to rely on?’

’Judging by a certain someone’s character and past actions, the choice is painfully obvious. So much for her "blind love" for the male lead. I’m genuinely curious: will he fly into a rage when he finds out, while he’s stuck inside making license plates?’

Everyone was speechless. ’Aren’t her thoughts getting a little ahead of themselves?’ But... hahaha... why did they also kind of want to see how that would play out?

While Arabella’s imagination ran wild, she started to predict the ultimate fate of that toxic couple from the original novel—the two who were tormented physically and emotionally to a world-ending degree, to the point that literally *No One Survives* but them, yet still couldn’t manage to break up.

Meanwhile, Ron Cole and the Donovan Family had finished discussing the car accident and had begun to clear the room.

By the time Arabella snapped back to reality, only she, Dennis Donovan, and a few others including Ron Cole were left in the room.

The suddenly solemn atmosphere made her realize something. Her eyes glinted. "Mr. Cole, is there something else you wanted to say?"

"Yes." Ron Cole affirmed Arabella’s suspicion without hesitation. "In fact, even without today’s car accident, we were already planning to seek you out."

"Those things I told you about before—they’ve come true?"

"That’s right." Ron Cole took the encrypted file from Brian Hughes and pushed it in front of Arabella. "These are the events from the lists you gave us that have now actually happened."

"So many?" Arabella’s expression was one of surprise.

’Looks like this world’s plot is starting to rapidly accelerate. I need to speed things up, too.’

Fortunately, with the proof of these actual events, Ron Cole and the others had no choice but to believe her now.

Arabella planned to have them keep a close eye on the handful of main characters to prepare for any emergencies that might arise. She also wanted their subordinates to pay more attention to recent developments around the country, just in case any other incidents occurred.

And these were things she obviously could never accomplish on her own.

"What do all these mean?" Arabella asked, pointing to the various colorful tabs in the document with a puzzled expression.

As if he knew she would ask, Brian Hughes preemptively explained, "Red means the target is deceased. Green means the person is still alive. Orange means we intervened but couldn’t save them. Yellow means we saved them."

"So, you’re saying that once you realized they might meet with misfortune, you tried to save them. It’s just that some attempts were successful, and some weren’t."

"Yes."

Arabella wasn’t surprised by this. Perhaps at first they hadn’t truly believed her, but with lives at stake, even if they were skeptical, they wouldn’t dare to take the potential consequences lightly.

The only difference was that at the start, when they were still half-doubting, they would have only *tried* to save people, and were prone to failure due to a lack of experience. But once there was factual evidence, those "tries" would become all-out efforts.

It was precisely because she knew what kind of people they were that Arabella was so insistent on working with them—to protect this land and the people on it together.

"First, tell me, how did you try to intervene?"

Ron Cole and the others exchanged glances before he answered truthfully, "Since you gave us the causes of death for these people, we secretly assigned agents to protect them and guide them away from the accidental circumstances that would lead to their fatal injuries. For example..."

Ron Cole pointed to a name highlighted in yellow in the document. Arabella recognized her at a glance—it was the nurse she had predicted would be hit by a car driving on the wrong side of the road on her way home from a midnight shift, and who would later die after being hospitalized.

"You predicted at the time that this nurse would get into a car accident on her way home from the night shift, so we had her hospital stop assigning her to any for a while."

"Did it work?"

"No. Due to some unexpected circumstances, the nurse ended up swapping shifts with a colleague one night and took her night shift. We had to activate our backup plan, assign someone to escort her home, and pull her out of the way when she encountered the vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road."

"So she survived?"

"Yes. Then there was this gentleman whose business went bankrupt; our people intercepted him on his way to the rooftop."

"If he didn’t make the jump, he naturally wouldn’t have ended up in that place."

"Yes. But of course, not every plan was a success. Take this one, for example..." Brian Hughes pulled a file from the pile and pushed it in front of Arabella. She casually glanced in the direction he indicated, but after getting a clear look at the name and photo, she immediately sat bolt upright as a curse exploded uncontrollably in her mind.

’Fuck, isn’t this the doctor male lead?’
