"... what do you want me to do with this?

Those words leaked on their own because of their sudden self-loss. I turned my gaze to the Earl of Teresia wondering if this was not very much.

"We will have to play. With Lord Elise."

The calm voice of the Earl of Teresia crushes my hazy escape route.

I seriously took another look at what was in my hand.

A doll with beautiful craftsmanship symbolizes a beautiful girl with an indescribable smile on her exquisitely deformed face to reduce creepiness.

It wraps around a brilliant costume like how much gold it would cost if it actually existed, and I pull it off first rather than admiring the excess decorative gesture. Doesn't anything have to be frilly enough to make you feel something like this...

This doll has been given in the name of the girl staying in this Golden Hill Hall, Baron Schulstoke, Elise's father.

The baron bothered to come over with a set of two different designs. What I mean by that is, as Count Theresia said earlier, "Elise and I need you to play with this".

Originally Elise came to Cardiac territory for sanatorium purposes, but nominally it was treated as a guest I invited as my playmate.

Until now, however, I have remained in a relationship with her that only sees her rather than plays. Sometimes Elise wasn't feeling well, but it was simply because I was too busy to spend more time with Elise than I could with her.

But there is no reason for Baron Schulstoke to know that. The baron of the lord's nobility is a recognized title to the land, and he hardly ever comes out of the social world, and he doesn't know that I'm busy or interested in playing with dolls.

Nevertheless, a doll is a very orthodox gift for a pre-teenage girl. The odd thing to see from the public would be me not wanting to play.

I just wondered if I would know such a personal preference or something. Count Teresia just pulled up to the office.

When I was left, I dropped my gaze on the sparkling doll again.

I don't know what to do with this. You want to play, I'll do it.

Hold your head, no, seriously reconsider.

... The point is, shouldn't Elise play with this and have someone to accompany that play? Isn't it necessary for me to be the playmate?

I somehow picked the first piece of the doll in my hand, the dense skirt part of the cloth, while thinking about giving it to Latka as well. The costume, which is elaborate in vain, is embroidered to the point where it becomes invisible due to the overlapping of the cloth. A rose of gold thread, stunningly sewn into the top cloth, plays the light and tickles.

"... n,"

When I looked closely, I noticed how strange the embroidery was. Only a part of it that would normally be repeated is different from the others.

Roll up another piece of cloth and make sure it still has the same embroidery there.

When I tilted my neck and looked at it for a while to see what this pattern was, I wondered if the pattern on that strange part was a letter.

If you look at that as a letter from the right place and read it, it is apparently a meaningful sentence, although it is very hard to read because there are no blanks between words.

"Cheng Cheng, was it a secret book"

The Earl of Teresia shrugged so as he dropped his eyes on the paper that had written off all the letters that had been stabbed.

"I asked Lord Elise, and apparently this rose shows the ciphertext. It seems Viscount Staedel had the mystery solved as a play for Lord Elise, who couldn't get out of the room, and the ciphertext, etc. was always marked with the rose."

Her uncle Viscount Steidel is extraordinarily adorable for Elise, who is infirm and sometimes spends her days without even getting off her cot. Elise herself told me that if she could play on the spot without moving, she would have prepared all kinds of toys in order to avoid the situation where her niece would walk into the room without any pleasure.

Viscount Steidel doesn't have a daughter herself, so maybe she's loving her niece for that matter. I'm guessing Elise's weakness is echoing the surrounding overprotections. I admire the strange thing about how many innocent girls grew up in such an environment.

"So now you know what it said?

"Yes, as long as you pay attention to the separation of words, it's not that difficult either. It was a warning about the movements of the Northern aristocracy."

Northern aristocracy, the Earl of Teresia distorted his face just a little annoyed by the word.

"There are some radical organizations around the Nordstelm family," he said.

"It's stupid. Now that we have discredited the territory of Cardia, it is not true that the money that has been taken will return..."

The Count exhaled one, as tired, deeply.

This is it if you think you've calmed down. I appreciate the Viscount Steidel for rewarding me, but I don't welcome any trouble. Even Cardiac territory is understaffed and has a lot of work to do.

I feel gloomy remembering the malicious gaze of the relative Northern nobles in the House of Lords the other day. I have to corroborate whether the contents of this secret document are true or not, but I was certain that there was no mistake.
