Chapter 692 - 279: Rolling Up!
Puff! Puff! Puff!
In pain, Xiangliu howled as beams of light shot towards it, piercing through its body and creating bloody holes.
Being naturally of the Water Attribute, it loathed firelight; the burn scars left by the Golden Crow crossing had not faded.
At this moment, the Power of the Sun drawn from above, although not as intense as the Golden Crow’s crossing, still inflicted great harm on it.
The claw marks on its back began to crack widely, and the cracks spread across its body, blood flowing down in streams.
Chunks of flesh also rolled off its body.
Roar! Roar! Roar!
Xiangliu roared in fury, shrinking its body, attempting to charge towards a distant light beam.
Yet before Xiangliu could make a move, blood surges from within the East Marsh Camp, where the Desolate Bear wielding the Battle Banner stood, covered in fresh blood, the banner cracked, yet launching another attack.
The bear and banner’s momentum was even greater than before.
Seeing this, all seven of Xiangliu’s intact heads danced, stirring up clouds of water vapor to block Yann Wanyun’s assault.
The blood-red Battle Banner, carrying overwhelming War Intent, broke through the seven clouds of vapor and, together with the blood-soaked Yann Wanyun, slashed at Xiangliu’s neck.
Xiangliu was terrified, dodging, but too late; one intact head and two with severed neck bones were cut off.
Roar!
In agony, Xiangliu bellowed, Water Element Witch Runes appeared on the stumps of the three heads, a layer of dark water vapor sealing the bleeding wounds.
Having suffered such a loss, the originally fleeing Xiangliu was instead provoked into ferocity.
Its massive tail whipped, catching Yann Wanyun off guard, sending the Desolate Bear avatar flying, blood gushing from its mouth.
Seeing the situation turn dire, Yann Wanyun wielded the Battle Banner to snatch the three fallen heads of Xiangliu, seizing the chance to retreat rapidly towards the East Marsh Camp.
Seeing Yann Wanyun daring to take its heads, Xiangliu opened its six mouths, and an inky Water Arrow formed, swiftly attacking the Desolate Bear.
"Fight!"
With a loud shout, the banner struck out like a spear, clashing with the Water Arrow, unleashing a massive wave of energy.
Yann Wanyun vomited blood, retreating into the East Marsh Camp, the previously cracked Battle Banner shattering in his hands.
Yet, from the shattered banner, a surge of War Intent emerged.
Seeing the significant results achieved, Xiangliu’s remaining twelve eyes gleamed with a fierce light.
Vast waters rose into the sky, forming giant waves stretching over a hundred miles, crashing down towards the camp.
As the waves fell, a dark Turtle Shell Array appeared above the camp, resisting the descending waves.
Xiangliu’s attacks didn’t stop, it urged the waters to continue assaulting the array, submerging most of the camp beneath the water.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
From afar, beams of light pierced through the water, creating a harsh sound as water and fire collided.
In the blink of an eye, another beam hit Xiangliu.
Puff!
This beam landed precisely on Xiangliu’s cracked back, the scorching power tearing through flesh, revealing a Water Element Witch Rune on the exposed bones.
Boom!
Amidst the intertwining water and fire, the rune within Xiangliu suddenly exploded.
The power of water and fire burst forth, large pieces of flesh falling off Xiangliu’s body.
Roar! Roar! Roar!
The remaining six heads of the pained Xiangliu cried out repeatedly, the dark water vapor on the three severed necks dissipating, blood from the neck and body flowing to form streams.
In this state, it couldn’t hold back.
The loss of blood extinguished Xiangliu’s rage.
"I will return!"
Xiangliu glared at the Human Race in front of it, dragging its wounded body towards the Great Marsh.
The East Marsh Camp was built by the water, in front lay vast wetlands, with a metal-constructed dam a few miles inland.
The dam, semicircular, extended to both sides, connecting to the camp’s city walls.
Xiangliu plunged into the water, harnessing the vapor to head towards the depths of the Great Marsh.
Next time, it aimed to stir a beast tide, letting an endless number of water-dwelling Wild Beasts submerge this Human Race city, having them tread on land to devour all humans.
Once Xiangliu entered the water, waves rolled over it repeatedly.
It harnessed the Source Power within the water to wash its wounds.
Though the Source Power wasn’t abundant, some Power of Water Source could slightly alleviate its grave injuries.
At this moment, Xiangliu’s body, over two hundred feet long, had a bloody severed neck, missing three heads.
A large crack extended from the neck to its tail, not to mention other cracks spreading from the main one.
Water Element Witch Runes appeared on the wounds, but the bloody water didn’t merge with the surrounding flow.
As the water passed over Xiangliu’s body, its Power of Water Source was fully absorbed, swiftly entering the wounds.
The difference was, as the marsh water hit its body, white foam was abundant, with some forming large areas of white froth.
In an instant, Xiangliu reached the dam in the water.
The dam, constructed from soil and stones, coated with a layer of molten iron, gleamed with a metallic luster in the sunlight.
