I Tame Beasts by Feeding

The terrifying pressure from the Second-stage Spirit Beast was almost tangible, washing over them like a tidal wave, but the Red Refining Snake and the Golden-Winged Eagle did not retreat.

The snake’s body slithered rapidly across the stage, wreathed in a layer of its own flames. Combined with the Red Flame Leopard’s inferno, a section of the arena was instantly engulfed in a suffocating heatwave, causing the very air to shimmer and distort.

Meanwhile, the Golden-Winged Eagle circled overhead. Its sharp gaze was locked onto the Red Flame Leopard, its iron-like talons glinting coldly as it continuously harassed its target, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

CRACK!!

With a whip of its tail, the Red Refining Snake lashed out, its massive appendage viciously striking the Red Flame Leopard.

But the Red Flame Leopard couldn’t even be bothered to dodge the blow. A flicker of human-like contempt showed in its fierce gaze. It allowed the tail to whip toward it and, in the same instant, pounced on the incoming appendage.

The tail struck its mark, but the leopard was not sent flying as the Red Refining Snake had anticipated. The Red Flame Leopard’s flames merely flickered; it had withstood the blow without a scratch. Its sharp claws shot out, lunging for the snake’s tail.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

Three Black Wind Slashes shot forward, aimed straight for the Red Flame Leopard’s head.

Unfortunately, the Red Flame Leopard remained unconcerned. With a mere lift of its head, it shot out a massive Flame Ball that collided with the Black Wind Slashes in mid-air, stopping them in their tracks.

The leopard’s thick paw seized the Red Refining Snake’s tail, and flames immediately began to spread across it. Then, with a tremendous exertion of force and a vicious flip, the Red Refining Snake—a beast a full size larger than the leopard—was swung around like a toy and flung through the air.

BOOM!

The Red Refining Snake cried out in pain as its massive body flipped over and slammed onto the stage. Fortunately, its physique was tough, so it was not seriously harmed. At the same time, the flames that had spread onto its body sputtered and died out.

"Red Flame Leopard, Red Flame Charge into a continuous Sea of Fire."

Miao Wenlun called out softly. At his command, the flames on the Red Flame Leopard instantly flared. As they burned fiercely, a Sea of Fire began to spread out slowly from the beast.

The ambient temperature shot up instantly, and a hazy mist from the heat enveloped the stage. The Red Flame Leopard seemed to revel in this environment. It let out a sudden, long roar, and the entire stage trembled.

ROAR!!!

The Red Flame Leopard roared as its already impressive speed surged with even greater power. With a vicious stomp of its paws, it transformed into a fiery meteor and charged straight for the Red Refining Snake.

From the sky, the Golden-Winged Eagle continuously unleashed Black Wind Slashes that landed on the Red Flame Leopard, yet they failed to slow its advance in the slightest. It charged forward unstoppably, intent on ramming into the Red Refining Snake.

The Red Refining Snake tapped its tail on the stage and instantly coiled its body. Blue light enveloped it, forming a shimmering curtain of water to protect its entire form.

The next moment, they collided. As expected, the Water Illusion Spirit Armor exploded on impact, and the Red Flame Leopard’s advance halted for a split second.

BOOM!

A tremendous roar echoed across the stage as earth and stone were sent flying and dust choked the air. A giant crater had appeared before the crowd’s eyes. To the side, the Red Refining Snake was coiling its tail, on which a small section was visibly dented and its Snake Scales were torn away.

"A tough body,"

Miao Wenlun remarked lightly, a hint of surprise in his voice.

That single blow would have instantly killed any ordinary First-rank Spirit Beast, yet the Red Refining Snake had only sustained a minor injury.

"A Second-stage Spirit Beast is indeed powerful."

Yu Changsheng gave a slight smile, his gaze toward the Red Refining Snake filled with concern. The beast met his eyes, conveying that it was all right, which finally put him somewhat at ease.

Meanwhile, the battle between the Drum Thunder Beast and the Colorful Star Deer was just as intense.

DRUM DRUM DRUM!!

Lightning flashed across the scales of the Drum Thunder Beast. Its drum-like abdomen swelled enormously before rapidly deflating with an exhalation. Its mouth gaped wide, the single horn on its forehead began to glow, and a powerful Thunderbolt started to form.

Blinding lightning flashed, bathing the surroundings in purple and cyan light. With a series of sharp crackles, arcs of electricity began to fill the air, dancing restlessly.

RUMBLE!

The next instant, with a sound like true Celestial Thunder, a thick pillar of lightning shot forth with unstoppable momentum, hurtling toward the Colorful Star Deer.

Light flared from the Colorful Star Deer’s curved antlers. Towering trees materialized from the void, and dense vines wove themselves into circle after circle, forming layer upon layer of defense.

However, these defenses only managed to halt the lightning strike for an instant. A moment later, the sea of trees collapsed, layer by layer.

The Colorful Star Deer seized that momentary pause to leap nimbly aside, narrowly dodging the blast of lightning as it shot past.

KRAKA-CRACK...

The Thunderbolt smashed into the stage. The already crumbling platform was instantly spiderwebbed with cracks. Unable to withstand the force any longer, it exploded with a final CRACK and a deafening RUMBLE!

The Sea of Fire and residual lightning immediately raged outward, splashing and scattering in every direction.

"This is bad! Protect the disciples below!"

Elder Chen’s eyes narrowed. He hastily cast a spell to control the chaos, preventing the Energy Shock from harming the disciples in the audience. With another wave of his hand, a series of complex inscriptions materialized, flashed with light, and branded themselves onto the ground. A barrier rose up to enclose the battlefield, ensuring the fight could continue without further interruption.

’Is this their true strength? A single exchange has this much destructive power... I bet even a battle between true Foundation Establishment cultivators is only this intense!’

Feeling the violent fluctuations from within the energy barrier, the crowd was filled with a mixture of awe and lingering fear.

Having failed to land its blow, the Drum Thunder Beast immediately began gathering power for another attack. Lightning flickered with its every breath.

Dazzling lightning flashed once more. The Drum Thunder Beast suddenly sucked in a massive breath, causing arcs of electricity to spread as a terrifying suction force erupted. For a moment, a gale kicked up sand and stones, and the very sky seemed to change color.

"Fire Sea: Star Fall!"

The flames on the Red Flame Leopard blazed higher. Streams of fire emerged from the void to cling to its body, burning fiercely and scorching the air. The leopard’s fur stood on end. A sudden wind blew from nowhere, shrouding the entire world in a murky haze.

Terrifying energy erupted from the attacks. A closer look revealed a world-engulfing Sea of Fire and apocalyptic lightning. The glare of fire and lightning illuminated a scene that looked like the end of the world.

Amidst it all, the figures of Yu Changsheng and his beasts were like a small boat tossed on a colossal wave, threatening to capsize at any moment under the world-shaking power.

"Black Wind Hundred Cuts!"

"Poisonous Fire Covering the Earth!"

"Sea of Trees Swallowing the Heavens!"

SCREECH!

The Golden-Winged Eagle let out a sudden, piercing cry to the heavens, a sound that seemed to pierce the clouds and shatter the sky. Facing the overwhelming onslaught, it soared upward without a trace of fear.

A massive phantasmal image appeared behind it as its wings suddenly expanded. It soared freely between heaven and earth, its true, brilliant form revealed amidst the Sea of Fire and lightning!

FWOOSH FWOOSH FWOOSH!

The Golden-Winged Eagle beat its wings relentlessly, stirring up a violent gale mixed with chaotic Demon Power. One after another, crescents of Black Wind solidified from the air, filling the sky before descending in a continuous barrage.
