I Took A Succubus's First Time

Chapter 423: Yuuna and Aria Vs. Via, Third Part

Via continued firing arrows of light toward Yuuna and Aria, sending one glowing projectile after another through the air with enough force that neither of them could afford to let their guard down for even a moment. The arrows moved with frightening speed, leaving bright streaks behind them as they crossed the battlefield, and the constant barrage made it difficult for Yuuna to find a proper opening for a counterattack.

Yuuna kept blocking the incoming attacks with her barrier, but she was quickly realizing that simply defending herself wasn’t going to work forever. The arrows were infused with holy power, and that particular energy was proving especially troublesome against her defenses. Whenever one of the arrows struck the barrier, cracks would immediately spread across its surface before disappearing as Yuuna poured more mana into maintaining it.

Her mana reserves were already running dangerously low, and she could feel the strain spreading throughout her body.

She could maintain the barrier for only a short period before the amount of mana required to keep it active became too much. Reinforcing it wasn’t really an option anymore either, since strengthening the barrier would consume even more mana and leave her with practically nothing for an actual attack.

Yuuna gritted her teeth before glancing toward Aria.

The two exchanged a quick look.

Aria immediately understood what Yuuna was thinking and gave her a small nod, showing that she was prepared to follow whatever plan Yuuna had come up with.

Yuuna took a breath before beginning another Crimson Dance.

This time, she didn’t hold anything back.

She poured practically all of her remaining mana into the technique, forcing the spell to generate as many crimson nails as her exhausted reserves would allow. The process immediately put even more strain on her body, but Yuuna continued pushing through it because she knew that a half-hearted attack wouldn’t accomplish anything against Via.

One crimson nail appeared after another, gradually filling the space around Yuuna until a large number of them were floating in the air. Their crimson glow reflected against her face as she gathered the last of her strength, and for a moment, even Yuuna wondered whether she was being reckless by putting everything she had into a single attack.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have many alternatives.

Once the Crimson Dance was complete, Yuuna released all of the nails simultaneously.

The entire collection of crimson projectiles shot toward Via like a storm, covering the space between them in an instant.

"I already told you, all of this is useless!" Via shouted confidently.

He immediately activated his barrier, apparently expecting the attack to end exactly like the previous ones.

For the first few seconds, it seemed as though he might actually be right.

The crimson nails slammed into the barrier one after another, producing flashes of red light whenever they collided with its surface. Via stood behind his defense with a confident expression, seemingly convinced that Yuuna had simply wasted what little mana she had left.

Then he noticed something strange.

A crack appeared across the barrier.

Via’s expression changed slightly.

Another crack appeared beside it.

The confidence on his face faded by just a little as more cracks began spreading across the surface of the barrier.

"Heh~" Via said, sounding more amused than concerned despite the unexpected development. "As expected of a member of the Sarushima House. You’re quite good, aren’t you? However, even with that level of power, this still isn’t something that will be able to break—"

The barrier shattered before he could finish his sentence.

Via barely had enough time to widen his eyes before the crimson nails descended upon him.

The attack struck from several directions at once, bombarding him with a relentless barrage of crimson projectiles. He tried to move, but the sheer number of nails made avoiding them nearly impossible. The first few struck him before he could properly react, and the attacks continued coming without giving him enough time to recover.

A barrier could technically be activated repeatedly, but doing so wasn’t nearly as simple as it sounded. Maintaining a defensive barrier consumed a significant amount of mana, and immediately creating another one after the previous barrier had been destroyed required even more energy.

Via’s mana reserves were considerably larger than Yuuna’s, but they weren’t so enormous that he could simply conjure another barrier within a few seconds without consequence.

That small delay was all Yuuna needed.

While Via was being bombarded by the Crimson Dance and was forced to focus on surviving the attack, Aria was already moving.

She disappeared from her previous position and closed the distance between them almost instantly.

Aria wasn’t fast enough to deal with Via’s arrows of light directly. Those attacks were simply too quick, and trying to chase them down while defending Yuuna would have been a terrible idea. However, Aria didn’t actually need to be faster than the arrows.

She only needed Via’s attention to be somewhere else.

Yuuna had gambled everything on that single opening.

That was why she had spent nearly all of her remaining mana on Crimson Dance instead of saving some for another defensive barrier. The attack wasn’t necessarily intended to defeat Via outright. Its real purpose was to force him to concentrate on defending himself and give Aria enough time to reach him.

The plan worked.

By the time Via realized what was happening, Aria was already standing beside him.

His eyes widened as he finally understood the trap.

"Amazing...~" he muttered.

Aria immediately swung her sword.

The blade passed straight through Via.

There was almost no resistance at all.

Aria’s expression remained calm for a brief moment, but something about the result immediately felt wrong to her. She had expected to feel the impact of her blade cutting through his body, yet instead, it was almost as if she had simply sliced through empty space.

Given Aria’s swordsmanship, she was capable of cutting through practically anything without allowing resistance to interfere with the movement of her blade. Her technique was so refined that even exceptionally tough materials could be severed cleanly.

However...
