I Took A Succubus's First Time

Chapter 421: Yuuna and Aria Vs. Via

Aria immediately managed to steer the car toward the side of the road, quickly getting it out of the direct path of the attack before bringing it under control. The sudden movement caused the vehicle to shake slightly, but she managed to keep her composure and prevent the situation from becoming even worse. Once the car was safely out of the way, Aria immediately turned her attention toward the direction from which the attack had come, carefully scanning the sky for any sign of their attacker.

"Ohh? Seems like she’s quite a bit more capable than I expected," Via said, looking down toward the woman in the maid uniform with an amused expression.

He didn’t seem particularly bothered by the fact that his first attack had been evaded. Instead, Via simply reached for the string of his bow again and calmly pulled it backward, creating another arrow made entirely of light. His movements were smooth and practiced, almost as though firing arrows at people was nothing more than an ordinary morning routine for him.

A moment later, he released the string.

The arrow of light immediately shot forward, traveling toward Aria with frightening speed.

Aria reacted almost instantly. She pulled out her sword and raised it directly in front of herself, meeting the incoming projectile head-on. The blade collided with the arrow of light, successfully knocking it away before it could reach her body.

"Attacking in the middle of the morning is quite the way to introduce yourself," Aria said, keeping her sword raised while staring toward the direction of the attack. "Surely angels aren’t supposed to be quite this uncivilized."

"Aria!" Yuuna called out, immediately realizing that the situation had become much more serious than she had initially expected.

"Yuuna-sama, it seems like the attacker is hiding somewhere behind those clouds," Aria replied, maintaining her defensive stance as she continued watching the sky.

Yuuna immediately looked toward the direction Aria had indicated. She narrowed her eyes slightly as she tried to locate their opponent, but the clouds made it difficult to determine exactly where Via was positioned.

She decided that waiting around for another attack wasn’t going to accomplish anything.

Yuuna raised her hand and immediately unleashed her Crimson Dance.

Multiple crimson nails appeared beside her, hovering in the air for only a brief moment before suddenly shooting toward the place where she believed the attack had originated. The projectiles moved rapidly through the air, forming a concentrated barrage that covered a considerable area.

Because Yuuna currently had a Love Link, even though it was only a relatively weak one created through a kiss, the Crimson Dance she had released was considerably larger than what she would normally have been able to produce. Her usual mana reserves were rather limited, meaning that an attack of this scale would normally leave her with very little room to continue fighting afterward.

With the Love Link boosting her mana capacity, however, Yuuna could potentially use an attack like this several more times.

In fact, she estimated that she could probably use it at least ten more times before reaching the same limits she would normally encounter after using it once.

The Love Link created through that kiss hadn’t dramatically increased her overall strength, but even that relatively small increase was proving to be extremely useful. The additional mana capacity allowed her to make much greater use of her abilities, giving her considerably more room to fight instead of forcing her to carefully ration every spell.

That difference might have seemed small from the outside, but Yuuna knew better.

Against someone like a fallen angel, having even a little more power could mean the difference between being overwhelmed immediately and actually having enough time to find a way out.

The concentrated crimson nails eventually reached the direction of the attacker’s position.

Suddenly, a tremendous burst of light exploded outward from behind the clouds.

The bright flash swallowed the incoming Crimson Dance, scattering the crimson projectiles before they could reach their intended target.

"Fuhahahahaha!"

Via’s laughter echoed through the sky.

"That was certainly a scare!" he shouted, sounding more entertained than concerned. "I honestly didn’t think I would encounter mana quite like that. Considering that fact, I’m assuming you’re from the Sarushima House, aren’t you?"

Yuuna immediately understood what he was getting at.

"Sarushima Yuuna," she replied, her expression becoming colder as she stared toward the clouds. "What business do you have attacking someone like me without warning, Fallen Angel?"

Yuuna had already figured out what kind of opponent they were dealing with.

Angels generally didn’t attack demons openly, especially in places where humans might witness what was happening. Exposing the existence of supernatural beings to ordinary people would create far too many problems, so most angels were careful about keeping their activities hidden.

Via clearly didn’t seem to care about any of that.

Launching attacks in the middle of the morning, particularly ones powerful enough to cause a significant disturbance, was something that would inevitably attract attention if there were enough civilians nearby.

Fortunately, the area around them wasn’t particularly crowded.

Kouhei had also been doing everything he could to prevent ordinary people from getting close to the area. While Yuuna didn’t know exactly how many civilians he had already moved away from the scene, she trusted that he was doing his best to make sure that the existence of demons remained hidden.

"I see, I see," Via said, sounding almost pleased with himself. "It seems like you actually know what you’re doing, at least. That’s more interesting than I expected."

The clouds suddenly shifted.

Via finally revealed himself.

He was a man with extremely long, ash-white hair that fell around his body, accompanied by an ugly smile that made his appearance considerably more unsettling. There was something deeply unpleasant about his expression, especially the way he looked at Yuuna and Aria as though the entire situation was nothing more than an entertaining game.

Fallen angels didn’t normally have their appearances changed simply because they had fallen from grace. Becoming a fallen angel didn’t automatically alter their physical appearance, which meant that if Via looked like this now, then there was a very good chance that this was what he had looked like back when he was still an angel.

That realization somehow made him even more disturbing.

He didn’t look like someone who had become evil because of his fall.

Instead, he looked like someone who had already been rotten from the inside long before he ever became a fallen angel.

"Yuuna-sama..." Aria suddenly said.

Her voice had changed.

She moved slightly closer to Yuuna, instinctively becoming more protective of her. Her hand remained firmly around the grip of her sword as she stared directly at Via.

It seemed that Aria recognized him somehow.

Via noticed the reaction almost immediately.

"Oh, it seems that maid recognizes me better than you do, Sarushima," he said with a mocking smile. "You don’t seem to recognize me at all, do you?"

Yuuna stared at him carefully.

She looked over his face once again, trying to figure out why his appearance seemed so familiar. His long hair, that irritating smile, and even his voice all felt like pieces of a memory she had heard somewhere in the past.

For several seconds, she couldn’t quite place him.

Then the memory suddenly came together.

"Via?!"

"HAHAHAHAHAH! That’s right! That’s right!" Via laughed loudly, clearly enjoying the moment. "That finally jogged your memory, didn’t it?"
