18. Sage Visits Adventurer Guild
"What town is this?
"This is Medicine town. Does it have a population of about 10,000? I stopped by because it's halfway through the town of Orti. It's a reasonably big town."
"... for what, a lot less crowded? Is it my fault?

I happen to grab a passerby on the street and ask him what's going on.

"With the Adventurer Guild? Is that where your husband belongs?

Adventurer rankings range from E to S. So it's quicker to count from below.
"Isn't that crazy? I don't care what you think. Isn't it obvious there's a flaw in the mechanism?
Geschpentdragon's daughter, Colette said with a frown root.
But I shook my head to the side.
"A social system does not work unless it is kept at a general level. Can't you even say it's my fault I'm a stickler?
Colette closed her big eyes, and let it be,
"I see. Sure, my husband is out of standard. Well, that's not a lonely thing to do."
"You think so?
"Uhm! The dragon species are the same. It's too strong, no one can get close, and it's not coming close! Not with you!
"No, I'm the type of person who wants to live as a normal person. I always thought I didn't want to stand out like a dragon."
"Oh my god, you traitor!?
Talk about that and head to the Adventurer Guild.
"Anyway, let me tell you something, I'm the one who banished the brave party. The truth is, they nested from me, to be reckoned with, but blind to the world. As I would like to understand, I tend to distort the facts. So I guess I might get some kind of penalty in the Adventurer Guild."
"Then I'll burn you down in this town!
Strongly. There was a trace leak of Kisher and flame from my mouth.
"I'm happy to feel it, Colette. If you don't change your mind, it's hard to do it in human society, right?
"Hmm. You mean I have to change my mind if I'm to be with my husband for good?
Forever? "That's what I mean," he nods, leaning his neck at the word.
Then it happened that Colette listened with enthusiasm.
Why not?

Well, I arrived at the Adventurer's Guild while we were talking about that.
I opened the door and glanced around.
I found the atmosphere to be more tingly than usual. There were a lot of people, and they gave us the creeps that came in. Apparently, something's going on for sure.
There is no requisition sticking out at all on the bulletin board either. There should usually be a large number of requests.

I went to the receptionist and spoke to the receptionist there.
"I'm sorry. I'd like to ask you something."

The receptionist said whether she was busy or not, looking down.
