Chapter 361 - 357: Since You’ve Come, Don’t Leave
Hong Yu’s steps, about to carry him into the teleportation gate, faltered.
He smoothed out the slip of paper in his hand. A line of small characters was written on it: "The entire Hong Family and the Cyan Nether Sword Sect are in my hands. If you want them to live, get to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect within three days. Otherwise, prepare to collect their corpses!"
The moment Hong Yu finished reading the note,
the slip of paper in his hand went WHOOSH, incinerating into ash.
Hong Yu’s eyes narrowed. He let out a cold snort, a blood-red, chilling glint dancing in their depths. "I don’t care who you are. Daring to threaten my Master and the others... I’ll make you pay a terrible price!"
His fists clenched so tightly they let out a sharp CRACK, CRACK.
He felt no sense of belonging to the Hong Family. His only real connection, the Third Elder, was already dead, leaving him with no attachments to them whatsoever.
But regardless, he had lived there for more than a decade.
Besides...
the Cyan Nether Sword Sect was there. It was home to his master, the Elder of White Cloud Peak who had recognized his potential, as well as all his brothers and friends from the Wind and Snow Association.
There was no way he could just stand by and let them die.
Thoughts raced through his mind as he tried to figure out who was behind this.
After some thought, he realized the list of potential culprits was not short.
The Zhui Yang Ancestor was one of them!
First, he had killed Prince Zhui Ri. The Zhui Yang Ancestor was surely furious and would love nothing more than to tear him to shreds.
On top of that, Hong Yu had single-handedly thwarted the astronomical bounty the Zhui Yang Ancestor had issued. That was a huge, invisible slap in the face.
For a powerhouse of the Zhui Yang Ancestor’s caliber, face was everything.
He definitely had the means and the motive.
Besides the Zhui Yang Ancestor, the powers behind the other geniuses he had killed—like Ziyan Wuhen, Ling Bingxin, and Ding Zhentian—were also potential suspects.
And beyond them, Hong Yu also thought of Wang Jiankun.
As for others, like Hai Cangtian, Hong Yu didn’t give him much thought.
For one, he’d had no real contact with Hai Cangtian.
For another, Hong Yu was unaware of the connection between Hai Cangtian and Lord Owl.
’Regardless, the most urgent task now is to get to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect.’
Hong Yu took a deep breath and walked toward the teleportation gate, a chilling light flickering in his eyes. ’By now, Old Sir Tie should be done absorbing the Enlightenment Fruit, right? Beichen Ba’s injuries are probably mostly healed too. I’ll just have them go straight to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect!’
The moment Hong Yu stepped out of the teleportation gate, the very first thing he did was crush the Communication Token that Old Sir Tie had personally refined.
This was the prearranged signal between him and Old Sir Tie.
Of course, the Communication Token also carried a message with his destination: the Cyan Nether Sword Sect!
’With Old Sir Tie’s and the others’ speed, they should be able to reach the Cyan Nether Sword Sect within three days.’
Hong Yu muttered to himself, ’As for Senior Brother Feng and I, we can indeed make it in three days if we travel at full speed. But if we do that, our Primordial Gang will be completely depleted with no chance to recover. Showing up at the Cyan Nether Sword Sect like that would be walking right into a trap!’
Hong Yu looked up and saw Yao Yueye standing nearby, waiting for him.
An idea sparked in Hong Yu’s mind. ’Yao Yueye is a prince of the Yaoyue Kingdom. He must have a way to get me to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect faster, right?’
At this thought, Hong Yu stepped forward. "Yao Yueye!"
Yao Yueye nodded, sizing up Hong Yu with a serious expression before speaking. "Everyone else thought you were the weakest, but I didn’t. Hong Yu, I’ll be leaving the Yaoyue Kingdom soon to travel to the Xiahuang Ancient Kingdom for training. I trust that by the next time we meet, you will no longer be a match for me!"
Hong Yu laughed, his fighting spirit blazing. "I’ll be waiting for our next match!"
"Good!"
Yao Yueye nodded lightly.
Just as he was about to leave, Hong Yu quickly called out, "Wait!"
"Hmm?"
Hong Yu said, "I need to get to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect within three days. Can you help me?"
"The Cyan Nether Sword Sect?"
Yao Yueye frowned, then said, "Come with me to the Royal Palace. The Royal Families of the Southern Ten Nations have Teleportation Arrays connecting them, allowing travel to any of the Ten Kingdoms Imperial Capitals. I have the authority to send you over!"
"Then I’m in your debt! Thank you!"
Overjoyed, Hong Yu quickly clasped his hands in a gesture of thanks.
Yao Yueye shook his head.
Hong Yu beckoned for Feng Xue Xin to follow, offering no explanation.
Feng Xue Xin merely frowned. Seeing the grave look in Hong Yu’s eyes, he understood enough and followed with a grim expression.
As the three made their way to the Royal Palace, they failed to notice that several others had already arrived at the palace’s Teleportation Array.
Yao Chuheng glanced at the Zhui Yang Ancestor, the Ziyan Ancestor, and the Sun and Moon Old Demon from the Sun and Moon Divine Sect. He frowned. "All three of you are heading to the Fengyue Kingdom?"
The Ziyan Ancestor was Ziyan Wuhen’s grandfather.
With a full head of long, purple hair and a potent, fiery aura radiating from his body, he spoke in a voice like muffled thunder, "Old Demon, just hurry up and activate the array. Send us over."
"That’s right," the Zhui Yang Ancestor added. "We’ve known each other for years. Don’t tell me you’re still suspicious of us?"
Yao Chuheng rolled his eyes helplessly and said, "Suit yourselves!"
He then activated the Teleportation Array, and the three of them stepped inside.
The array was about to close when Wang Jiankun arrived with Hai Cangtian.
Yao Chuheng looked at the pair in confusion, his gaze finally landing on Hai Cangtian. "Your Highness, are you also heading to the Fengyue Kingdom?"
Hai Cangtian said flatly, "Do I need to report my destination to you?"
"That... is not what I meant, Your Highness," Yao Chuheng said with a forced smile.
Wang Jiankun stepped in, smiling to smooth things over. "Brother Yao, Prince Hai Cangtian merely wishes to pay a visit to my Cyan Nether Sword Sect. Using your Teleportation Array shouldn’t be a problem, correct?"
Yao Chuheng frowned, muttering to himself, ’What is going on? Why is everyone suddenly heading to the Fengyue Kingdom?’
Although he was puzzled, Yao Chuheng didn’t dare obstruct Hai Cangtian. He smiled. "If Prince Hai wishes to go to the Fengyue Kingdom, I certainly wouldn’t dare stand in his way!"
He then reactivated the Teleportation Array.
Hai Cangtian led Wang Jiankun inside. With a flash of light from the Teleportation Array, the two of them vanished.
Staring at the now-inactive Teleportation Array, Yao Chuheng frowned. "Strange. Very strange. Zhui Yang and his group went to the Fengyue Kingdom, and now even Hai Cangtian is going?"
Wily with age, Yao Chuheng didn’t dwell on it.
He understood how the world worked. He knew there was a clear line between what one should know and what one was better off not knowing.
But as Yao Chuheng deactivated the array and departed, he had no idea.
「On the other side of the Teleportation Array...」
Within the Fengyue Royal Palace, lights flashed repeatedly. The Fengyue Kingdom experts guarding the Teleportation Array stared at the Zhui Yang Ancestor’s group as if facing a formidable enemy.
Just as the two sides were about to come to blows, two more flashes of light appeared, and Wang Jiankun walked out.
The moment these Fengyue Kingdom experts saw Wang Jiankun, they breathed a collective sigh of relief and bowed respectfully. "We greet Sect Leader Wang!"
Wang Jiankun nodded. "You may all disperse. They are friends of mine."
"Yes!"
Several Fengyue Kingdom experts nodded repeatedly and retreated.
The Zhui Yang Ancestor, however, raised a hand, conjuring a barrier to prevent outsiders from overhearing their conversation. He looked at Hai Cangtian. "Prince Hai Cangtian, for what purpose have you summoned us all to the Fengyue Kingdom?"
"Heh heh, Zhui Yang Ancestor, aren’t you just playing dumb?" Wang Jiankun sneered.
The Zhui Yang Ancestor snorted coldly. "Wang Jiankun, shut your damn mouth! Fucking hell, look at the kind of monster your Cyan Nether Sword Sect has produced! He even dared to kill my grandson."
Wang Jiankun was enraged, but constrained by the Zhui Yang Ancestor’s power, he just gave a cold snort and fell silent.
Hai Cangtian said calmly, "I have brought you here to give you an opportunity for revenge, of course."
"Oh?"
The Zhui Yang Ancestor and the other two narrowed their eyes but asked no further questions.
They were all old foxes. How could they so easily allow themselves to be used as someone else’s pawn?
In truth, from the moment Hai Cangtian had sent the telepathic message telling them to come to the Fengyue Kingdom, they had vaguely suspected he wanted to deal with Hong Yu.
Although the three of them also wished they could flay Hong Yu alive.
But...
they were, after all, powers subordinate to the Xiahuang Ancient Kingdom. If their collaboration with Hai Cangtian against Hong Yu were to be exposed, they would face pursuit and a death warrant from the entire Xiahuang Ancient Kingdom!
Hai Cangtian naturally understood their concerns. "Don’t worry about being exposed," he said lightly. "Since I’ve chosen to cooperate with you, I certainly won’t bring you harm. I have a meticulous plan. You need only follow my commands, and I guarantee not only that you will kill Hong Yu and avenge your heirs, but you will also obtain some considerable treasures!"
"Treasures?"
The three were stunned.
Even Wang Jiankun looked at Hai Cangtian with confusion.
Although he was controlled by Lord Owl, Lord Owl was always exceedingly mysterious and had never revealed that Hong Yu possessed a great treasure.
Hearing this now, he was quite perplexed.
Hai Cangtian smiled and nodded. "I guarantee it. Once Hong Yu is dead, each of you will receive a Treasure no weaker than a Celestial-Level Primordial Weapon!"
"HISS!"
The three of them sucked in a sharp breath!
A Celestial-Level Primordial Weapon!
Even with their status and power, a Treasure of that Level was something they could only dream of obtaining!
But greed was one thing; the three of them still maintained a shred of reason.
The Zhui Yang Ancestor frowned. "Your Highness, it’s not that we don’t believe you. But with your strength, dealing with Hong Yu should be effortless, no? Why go to the unnecessary trouble of having us make a move?"
The others also looked toward Hai Cangtian.
But he just laughed. "Because he has something that I want!"
A glint appeared in the three men’s eyes.
Only then did they recall that ever since the tournament, Hai Cangtian had been making trouble for Hong Yu, both openly and in secret.
At this thought, they nodded in unison. "Alright, we’re in!"
Hai Cangtian nodded in satisfaction. "In that case, in a moment, we will..."
After Hai Cangtian finished announcing his plan, the group dispersed.
Hai Cangtian and Wang Jiankun were the first to return to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect. As for the Zhui Yang Ancestor and his group, they set up an ambush on the road from the Kingdom of Fengyue Capital to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect, waiting for Hong Yu to walk right into their trap!
They had already calculated everything. It wouldn’t take long for Hong Yu to arrive in the Fengyue Kingdom via a Teleportation Array.
But traveling from the Kingdom of Fengyue Capital to the Cyan Nether Sword Sect required a day and a half.
So, the Zhui Yang Ancestor and his group lay in ambush along the way.
By noon the next day, three figures suddenly appeared in the sky ahead.
Hong Yu, Feng Xue Xin, and Beichen Celestial Frost were flying forward at extreme speed. Beichen Celestial Frost stuck close to Hong Yu, much to his exasperation.
The girl was worried he was in danger and had insisted on coming with him, no matter what.
Feng Xue Xin, however, just gave them a suggestive look.
As the three of them flew, Hong Yu suddenly raised a hand, signaling for Feng Xue Xin to stop.
Feng Xue Xin asked in confusion, "What’s wrong?"
Hong Yu took a deep breath. "Something’s off. We’re taking a different path!"
But just as the three were about to change course, a sinister voice suddenly echoed through the air...
"Since you’ve already come, you may as well stay!"
