Chapter 1945: Relinquishing the Position of True Immortal
A touch of deep emotion surfaced upon Yun He's face. "This fellow has departed completely this time. I reckon he won't be returning ever again in the future."
Fang Zhentian smiled faintly. "He has waited a very long time for this day. It can be considered as obtaining what he wished for."
A faint, icy sneer rippled across Yun Que's face. "To depart in such a manner is considered a form of relief for him. It was far too easy on him."
The crowd knew that this group of Yang Gods were incredibly knowledgeable. They knew all kinds of secrets concerning the Nine Realms. So it was perfectly normal that the others couldn't understand some of what they were saying. No one paid any attention to it. They only knew that this pseudo-Heavenly Dao was highly likely leaving the Nine Realms for good. As for where he was going, it wasn't important.
"Master, he mentioned owing a favor to the Reincarnation Immortal Sect?" said Fang Chen.
He wanted to know his master's opinion on this.
Yun He nodded. "Correct. He was formerly the Heavenly Dao of the Nine Realms, but he accidentally violated the rules that a Heavenly Dao ought to abide by. Right now, only by making equivalent recompense could he bring matters to a satisfactory conclusion and finally leave."
Fang Chen was visibly taken aback. "Master, what connection does he have with the Reincarnation Immortal Sect?"
"What type of question is that?" Fang Zhentian rolled his eyes. "What connection does he have with the Nine Realms? Isn't that simply the connection between the Heavenly Dao and the Nine Realms? To put it more precisely, he used to be the order of the Nine Realms. He destroyed the order himself, and so he suffered punishment."
"So that's how it is."
Fang Chen nodded slowly, yet his gaze was exceptionally grave. He discovered that whether it was Yun He or Fang Zhentian, they completely disregarded the words "Reincarnation Immortal Sect," subconsciously replacing it with the "Nine Realms."
This was no longer something that could simply be explained away as an aftereffect of being Yang Gods.
"Old Wang, what are your thoughts regarding the Reincarnation Immortal Sect?" Fang Chen suddenly sent a voice transmission toward Wang Chongsong.
Wang Chongsong replied, "You want to know my views regarding the Nine Realms? Once the matters here are settled, I will head back and organize my thoughts and provide you with a dossier for you to read. Right now, your strength is already sufficient to unite the Nine Realms, so there is no longer any need to beat around the bush. Whoever is disobedient, just beat down their front door directly. I also need to properly study my Bone Physiognomy Technique; I hope that by the time I emerge from seclusion, the Heavenly Dao will have already succeeded."
"......"
That confirmed it. Either sometime before this, just moments ago, or perhaps after Li Daoye had departed, some kind of mystical power had completely erased everyone's cognition regarding the Reincarnation Immortal Sect. It seemed similar to the forbidden technique the Demon Race used back then, which had caused a severe deviation in the Human Race's cognition regarding reincarnation.
The Demon Race had paid an immense price to execute that technique, and even then, they couldn't truly affect Yang Gods or certain reincarnated existences. But now, even the Old Master and the others have lost all cognition of the Reincarnation Immortal Sect.
Fang Chen gazed into the gray, hazy void, seemingly searching for something.
There's a very good chance that one of my senior or junior brothers from the Reincarnation Immortal Sect is behind this. But up until now, I have only ever met two fellow disciples of the Reincarnation Immortal Sect.
Seeing Fang Chen and the others casually chatting as if they had forgotten all abou them, Saint Jinyang couldn't help but shout aloud, "Monarch Fang, how do you plan to dispose of us?! You can't be planning on throwing us inside the Eighteen Heavens Prison Tower, can you? Our value far exceeds ordinary Yin Soldiers."
He grinned. "If the Eighteen Heavens Prison Tower loses control once more, it will likewise leave an opening for others to exploit."
His words were nothing more than a reminder to Fang Chen that throwing them into the Eighteen Heavens Prison Tower wasn't a great idea.
"Monarch Fang, we are all human cultivators. Since the path we've taken has already reached an impasse, why don't we follow you and walk your path instead?"
Saint Jinyang smiled faintly. "Once a new Heavenly Dao rises, we'll have plenty of time to maneuver against the Supreme Qingming Alliance. Perhaps this truly can elevate the race's destiny and refine new Supreme Bones."
Fang Chen smiled. "Give me a reason not to kill you all."
"Was the reason I stated not good enough? Why don't you ask Wandao and Fang Lie whether they are willing to kill us?"
Fang Chen looked toward his two elders.
"Killing them requires utilizing the Eighteen Heavens Prison Tower, but we cannot guarantee whether the Ancient Demon is still hiding within this space. If the Eighteen Heavens Prison Tower falls out of your control while refining these fellows, it will be easy for someone to intercept it midway." Fang Zhentian smiled faintly. "Furthermore, they are currently merely a strand of remnant soul. Their true primary souls have not come here at all. They are Saints after all. They wouldn't act so recklessly."
Remnant souls?
Everyone was stunned. They stared at Saint Jinyang and the others in disbelief. These fellows had only come here as remnant souls? And a mere remnant soul possessed such terrifying methods?
Saint Jinyang sighed. "You are as sharp as ever."
Saint Luoxue and the others smiled meaningfully.
Only now did everyone understand that Saint Jinyang and the rest had placed themselves in an essentially unkillable position from the very beginning. Even if these remnant souls died, the damage inflicted upon their primary souls would remain within an acceptable range.
Fang Chen smiled. "What are you suggesting then?"
Fang Zhentian laughed. "Naturally, even if they are remnant souls, they ought to be battered to death all the same. If there is an opportunity to make them suffer, how could we possibly let them depart comfortably?"
Fang Chen nodded. "I understand."
With a mere stir of his thoughts, massive swarms of Yin Soldiers directly unleashed lethal strikes against Saint Jinyang and the rest.
"Fang Lie, how dare you!" Saint Jinyang cried out in shocked fury.
However, they no longer had the opportunity to speak. In an instant, they were completely submerged by the swarms of Yin Soldiers.
Seeing this scene, the cultivators of the Minor Immortal Realm and the Killing Spiritual Division instinctively looked toward Shi Xinghai. Shi Xinghai's face was ashen, and no one knew what he was thinking.
After about ten minutes, the remnant souls of Saint Jinyang and the others had already completely vanished into thin air.
"Their primary souls ought to still be within the Ancient Forbidden Zones. Once we depart from this place, you can bring people to clear them out once more," stated Fang Zhentian.
Fang Chen nodded, his gaze landing squarely upon Shi Xinghai. "True Immortal Shi, it is time for you to make your decision."
Shi Xinghai smiled faintly. "What kind of decision can I possibly make? If you want to kill me, then kill me. Since the Nine Realms are already dead, you all will come down to accompany me sooner or later."
He paused for a moment before adding, "Before that, you all ought to first consider the matters regarding the Major Immortal Realm side. Since you all killed True Immortal Ancient Mirror, there is no longer anyone who can restrict the Fallen Immortals of the Major Immortal Realm from heading to the Lower Realms."
Lang Daochun laughed. "Who said we killed it?"
Shi Xinghai's expression shifted slightly. Immediately afterward, he saw an ancient, unadorned mirror appear in Lang Daochun's hand.
"So it was suppressed. I knew it. If the True Immortal Ancient Mirror had died, the Blood Gate border passes on the Major Immortal Realm side would easily be breached by the Fallen Immortals."
Shi Xinghai found it somewhat hard to believe. "You could actually even suppress the True Immortal Ancient Mirror..."
Lang Daochun laughed. "My apologies, but my methods naturally carry slight counters against certain spiritual treasures. Suppressing the True Immortal Ancient Mirror was well within expectations. It doesn't count as much."
Shi Xinghai's face darkened as he stared fixedly at Lang Daochun. By this point, he was fairly certain that he and his companions had been seen through by the other party from the very beginning.
"So from beginning to end, we never had any chance of victory. But you all... will regret this."
Shi Xinghai let out a sigh. Suddenly, the aura emanating from his body began to surge violently. A few breaths later, that violent aura dissipated. At the same time, Shi Xinghai's figure gradually began to fade away.
Chen Feifei frowned. "He has relinquished his True Immortal seat."
