Settlement Relationships

"Put out the use to Voquone. We can't let them in the settlement until we get that answer back!

Naturally.

Nothing can prove our relationship with the ancient dragon Granos.

You'll need to see if you can trust me.

"I feel sorry for letting you keep watch, but I'm gonna let you camp here at night, okay?

"With your strength, as confirmed by the eyes of the demon, it will be possible to kick us to the settlement. It's a good idea for us if we don't do it and we're going to camp at night."

I thought that wolf was a demon-fed being, but he was a demon of use?

At least, Lawrence's remembered elf magic had no demon of use.

Does the elf have secret magic in each settlement?

Or is the settlement here special?

Well, I'm just extra wary of prying in the present situation...

As preparation for the night camp, tents, baths, tables, chairs and meals are taken out of different space storage one after the other.

The elves on the lookout round their eyes are surprised that I use the unique magic of elves and the different space storage that only a limited number of elves can use.

"Whoa, you, how do you do that magic!?

"I'll explain that, too, when the use returns from the Voquan settlement. It's a story you don't believe."

"Are you really... human?

"What do I look like other than a human?

I know you understand we're not aggressive, but have you made me more alert than I was earlier?

But from an elf who doesn't know Lawrence and Vereda and the others exist, there's no clapping, so...

If you tell the truth, you're more than likely to be suspicious.

Lawrence's magic itself deviates from Elf's magic culture, and it's out of the question for Vereda and the others to do so.

Even the same elves wouldn't want to believe that they are eating human souls and gaining immortality and magic.

"For once, I'm telling you, even if our ladies take a bath, you're not gonna peek, are you?

"" "" "Don't be ridiculous!!

All the prized elves scream.

Even humans would be angry if they treated me like a 'peeping demon'.

"It doesn't make any deep sense. I just told you not to be alarmed because I'm going to get a bath in this tent."

"Don't you guys have anything to be wary of!?

"I'm on guard. If you want to set us up, just let them do it for real."

When the stare is applied, the elves run upset.

"I don't want that to happen, so I want to be calm."

We're just here to talk.

As a precedent, I don't feel compelled to do so because I just need the elves to be de-alerted.

Unless the elves set me up, I'm going to look for other settlements, even if they refuse to talk to me.

I'm not fooling around just doing the usual night camp to reassure my wary opponents.

So while we are at the very least alert, we avoid creating a swordswallowing atmosphere out of this one.

I see an unconvincing look, but I guess the elves don't want a fight either.

There was nothing more to say to me.

The next morning, everyone woke up, but the use I went to check with the Voquan settlement was not back.

Mark, Takel, I was on watch in my turn, so I was exploring the magic around me while practicing magic control in the center of each tent, but I haven't been able to sense the presence coming up.

Running through the Balganaan Great Forest in the middle of the night is dangerous, so I guess I stayed in the Voquan settlement until morning.

If so, then maybe the elves don't treat each other that exclusively.

Lawrence was a species called Dark Elves himself, so the other elves...... were just being treated unfairly, especially by the Veredas?

Then maybe we need to change our perceptions about the elves...

"What's the matter, look hard?

When Mark looked at my expression, he said, 'Is something wrong?' I came to ask.

"I thought the relationship between the elves might be uneven in Lawrence's perception..."

"Oh, personal subjectivity isn't necessarily..."

"Right..."

Mark, who understood my concerns, and Holly, who was listening nearby, answer.

"If you grew up being treated like a troublemaker, your subjectivity is likely to have been distorted..."

Ever since last night, the signs from the elves watching over us have been surprisingly mild...

Previously on Elves, they didn't like us staying within the cover-up.

I thought the Voquones, who are responsible for Lawrence and Vereda, were a special example, but rather than eliminate us... I find myself confused by the elves in the atmosphere of protecting the settlement, including us.

Is that a trait as a race?

Is this the result of respect for the name of the ancient dragon Granos?

If I could, I hope it would be the former...
