Chapter 50: Citywide Event
The moment he made his choice, Morden felt no particular change for a while, and it reminded him that way until he felt a strange tremor in his mind.
He hadn’t even gotten time to think about what was going on when a screen suddenly popped up in front of him.
[Criteria met: Multiple Attributed Bearer entering the same city at once]
[City-Wide Event Initiated]
’Oh shit,’
That was the only thought that Morden could manage to form when he finished reading the texts that had appeared in front of him.
He wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or bad thing just yet, but something he knew for sure is that anything strange involving the Omnisphere can’t be that good.
The string of text soon vanished, and now all that Morden was left with was the feeling of ascent that put just a little amount of pressure on him, almost unnoticeable, but it was undoubtedly there.
The feeling lasted for a bit more until he slowly felt himself having a tangible body again, and he had his other senses again.
Opening his eyes, Morden was shocked to see his status screen was the first thing that appeared in front of him. Something he hadn’t actually bothered checking for quite some time now.

He looked through the screen and nodded, everything there was just as he had expected; there wasn’t any major change, and there wasn’t anything strange about the fact that he still didn’t know what attributes were.
With nothing else to see, Morden willed it and closed the status screen in front of him.
"Where is this place?" Morden said while sitting up from his previous lying position.
He looked all around him to see an extremely simple room, or, better, the better term, a mostly empty room. The only thing in the room was the bed Morden was lying on and nothing else.
So his scan didn’t really give him any information since he was also staring at empty space and the walls.
’Given that this is first place, I wake up after entering the Omnisphere, and then I will guess that this is the spawn room.’
’My spawn room precisely,’
’It looks a little lack-luster, though.’
Despite complaining about the room’s appearance, Morden couldn’t actually do anything about it, and he didn’t even care enough for him to actively do something about it.
"I think I can check this room later, but first I need to meet up with Darlus and Lisa," Morden said while getting up to leave.
There was just nothing interesting in the room that could keep him for longer.
He walked towards the door that was only about two steps away from his bed and twisted the door handle to open it, and almost immediately he was hit.
He was hit by the noise that was currently everywhere, causing Morden to feel quite a bit of nausea.
’What the hell is going on?’ he thought while looking left and right.
On both sides of the entrance to his room were rows and more rows of rooms all opening into a central opening area.
’Is the Omnisphere offering some kind of Bearer hostel?’
But all across where he looked, he couldn’t see a single person; all he saw were doors, making it strange as to where the noise was coming from.
’I should just leave here at this point,’
While he was checking his surroundings earlier, Morden had already seen what looked to be a stairway downstairs, and that was exactly where he headed.
Thankfully for him, when he arrived, it was actually a stairway, and upon following it, he arrived downstairs, and that was when he actually understood where the noise was coming from.
Bearers of a wide variety of ages could be scrambling about, most people engaging in short conversations with others before talking to someone else almost immediately.
And one thing was constant among all the faces he saw, and that was the look of panic. Everyone had panic written on their faces, the differences being the difference in age groups.
The much older-looking Bearers were panicking less, but the younger ones were in an extreme hyperstate.
Having his curiosity get the better of him, Morden turned towards a random direction and walked towards the most composed-looking person he could spot at first sight.
’He seems extremely composed, so he must be able to give me good information,’ he walked towards the person.
"Hello, could you please fill me in on what is going on?" Morden asked, but the next instant he immediately regretted ever asking.
He watched as the most composed face he spotted slowly morphed into a face showing utter horror.
"What is going on? What is going on?" the person shouted.
"I will tell you what’s going on. Death is coming?"
"It’s coming for everyone in Evergreen city, everyone."
"Death, Death, Death, Death, Death, it’s coming, it’s coming for every single one."
Seeing the sudden change and the exaggerated response, Morden was startled slightly, causing him to take a few steps back.
But that wasn’t enough; the person’s shout had already attracted the attention of everyone in the surrounding area, and they were now looking towards him.
"That newbie just had to go trigger Larry,"
"I have had it with these ignorant fools; they are going to start up trouble for others."
"I wonder who the multiple attributed people, prompting a citywide notification is crazy,"
"Exactly, whoever they are, they should leave as soon as possible, or we find them and send them away by any means possible."
The silence that the person called Larry shouted caused Morden to finally hear some murmurs from people giving him quite a bit of information.
Of all he heard, only one stuck to him the most and rung in his head the loudest, prompting a scary thought.
"We caused a City Wide notification."
