Morden’s mind immediately went blank; no thoughts were coming to his mind at that moment; he just stared straight at Mona.

"Why are you so shocked?" Mona said in a cold voice.

Her voice snapped Morden out of his blank state, filling his empty head with a barrage of thoughts. Despite having a large number of questions, Morden only managed to ask a single one.

"Why?"

Though he didn’t have a deep trust in this woman, he still had quite a high level, and who can blame him? She was the first person that actually believed he didn’t kill his family. She had also given him important information that helped him survive his trial.

And now, she was standing in front of him with such cold eyes.

"Because it wants you dead," Mona responded, but this time her voice wasn’t as cold.

"The one who shouldn’t be, shouldn’t be."

Though he had gotten a response to his question, Morden still looked at Mona with eyes that displayed complete obliviousness.

’How did she know about that attribute? Does she know that person called the Administrator? Has she known all along?’

"How did you know that, and who the hell is the ’it’ that wants me dead?" Morden finally managed to spit out another question.

"Since I am looking for answers too, I guess I need to answer some of yours too, but in response you need to answer some of mine too," Mona said.

"Make sure you think of your response; it determines how fast you die."

"Have a seat," she said while waving her hand; the world instantly responded as shadows slowly coalesced into a seat just behind Morden.

At this point, the man Morden had been fighting previously was already tossed to the side, completely frozen from fear.

"Firstly, I will be answering your first two questions. I know it wants you dead because the moment you got back from your first trial, I received a mission... Kill the One who shouldn’t be."

Morden listened with rapt attention, his eyes widening further the more he heard.

’Since so long ago,’

’What the hell does this attribute mean, and why the hell is it sending everyone after me?’

After finishing her first statement, Mona paused a bit while her eyes focused on him more.

’Why the hell can’t I read his mind? Has his mental strength gotten so high?’

Noticing herself slowly growing distracted from what actually matters, Mona pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and focused on the current task at hand.

"To answer your second question, the ’it’ is the Omnisphere."

Though he already had a guess that it was probably the one, hearing it from Mona actually confirmed his guess while also simultaneously eliminating a possibility.

’Then she probably doesn’t know the administrator, and there’s no reason for me to tell her about that for now.’

"Do you have a question of your own?" Morden asked while looking at Mona.

"Yes, I do, but it isn’t time for that yet. I will answer all of your questions first, so go on."

Hearing the ball being passed back to his court, Morden didn’t hesitate, and he immediately jumped at the opportunity.

"What the hell are attributes, and could they be the reasons you were sent to kill me?"

His question hadn’t finished leaving his mouth when Morden had already noticed Mona’s reluctance to answer, but in the end she finally gave in.

"No one can really say what attributes are, so I can’t give you an answer to your question, and to answer your second question, yes, it absolutely could. In fact, it almost certainly is."

"Before you ask why, it’s because everyone that has ever had an attribute ended up causing major irreparable damage to the world,"

The second part of her statement, almost raging out in shock, the statement that everyone with an attribute has caused irreparable damage, is just too shocking, even for Morden, who had just arrived in this world not too long ago.

"Does that answer your questions? If you have any more questions, now is the time to ask them before it gets to my turn."

Feeling slightly satisfied by the answers he had gotten, Morden wanted to end it all there, but then something else popped up.

"Why did you send this man after me, and how many of the events of the past few days are true?" Morden said while pointing to the man from earlier.

"I sent him to kill as a substitution for his own life, but obviously he has failed, and now he will have to die." Her eyes glanced towards the man for a brief second before returning back to Morden.

"How am I supposed to answer your second question? Do you think I know every single thing that has happened in your life for the past few days?"

"If you are asking about your family, then yes, they are truly dead, and we still aren’t sure you didn’t do it, especially since I got that mission."

"I was asking about the piece of clothing I found behind my window, Merlin, and finally the death of family."

A look of realization finally appeared in Mona’s face when she heard the first part of Morden’s question, but towards the end it changed into confusion.

"Yes, that piece of clothing is actually evidence he found in that exact spot, but we decided to leave it there to see if you would find it. In addition, I don’t know who the hell Merlin is, but I am guessing it’s that person that locked you in this place; if that’s who you are talking about, then you should be the one telling me who he is based on the fact that he has been seen following you since the moment you left the police station that night."

"Wait, what? Following me since that time? I just met him earlier today," Morden said with a horrified face.

But Mona didn’t respond to him at all; she just continued her answer.

"Last but not least, yes, a family of three was actually killed in that building where you went, but he didn’t kill them; he was only there because I told him where to do the job."

"But not only did he fail once, he failed twice," Mona added, her eyes now as cold as ice.

Seeing the attention shift back to him, the man immediately began shivering while he opened his mouth to explain.

"Pleeeease, Forgive me , I only failed because someone else came there. I swear, miss, someone interfer—"

He hadn’t finished speaking when a shadow had risen and cleanly pierced his head in the blink of an eye.

She didn’t bat a single eyelid before turning back to speak to Morden.

"Now for my own question,"

"Why shouldn’t I kill you this instant?"
