While still among the large crowd, Morden subconsciously stopped in his tracks, his head turning to look at the large screen not too far away.

Unexpectedly, Morden’s current interest was only shared by him; everyone else continued with their actions without a single hiccup in their steps as if they hadn’t heard it.

But that wasn’t even all.

He wasn’t even able to get a full view of the information before it strode over, and now a product ad was displaying on his face.

’What? a news as massive as a family of three being stabbed to death and the only thing they got was a few seconds on the News and everyone else’s ignorance.’

"Hey, get moving, there’s no time to waste." a loud booming voice came out from behind him.

The shout immediately snapped Morden back to reality, and since he didn’t want any trouble with a random person, he could only keep his thoughts to himself and keep moving towards the counter that was on the left.

Behind the counters were extremely beautiful-looking Ladies who made sure to wear a warm smile and have a polite stance.

The moment he arrived in front of one of the attendants, he could feel the woman scanning him from top to bottom Continuously which felt kind of unsettling.

’Is she about to begin discriminating against me?’

"Good Morning sir, how may I help you?" Morden heard the woman say it with her still warm and polite stance, completely ignoring his appearance.

’Now that is something you don’t see every day, so I guess this makes things easier.’

"Sir... sir," the woman called again to grab Morden’s attention.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry. I came to register as a Bearer, how do I go about it?"

The moment he finished asking the question, Morden noticed a strange expression in the woman, and he slowly confirmed his previous thoughts in his mind, but he couldn’t be more wrong.

If only he could hear what was going on in her head at that moment; he wouldn’t have thought like that.

’oh my God? What does that even mean? Is this person some kind of maniac slowly speaking gibberish? He says he wants to register as a Bearer, isn’t he a bit young?

"Register as a Bearer?" the woman asked again.

"Yes, I would like to register, is there something I need to do?"

Despite her shock as a professional who was very experienced with her job, the woman knew better than to lose her composure.

"Ohh, alright. Hope you brought your ID along."

"Yes, I did," he affirmed with a nod.

"That’s perfect then. Follow me then," she said while gesturing forward.

Morden took a last look at the gigantic screen behind him before turning back around to follow the woman.

She led him to a back room where he noticed other people waiting in the room, and at first sight, he immediately noticed something.

They were all much older than he was.

"Wait here, sir; it will soon be your turn to get tested, and I will work with your ID card and actually do the registration."

He felt a little hesitant to leave his ID with someone he doesn’t really know, but noticing the professionalism here, Morden decided to trust it.

Just like the woman had said, one after the other, people were being called into the room to get tested, and soon it was already Morden’s turn.

"Morden Tales," someone called from inside the room.

Without hesitation, he rose to his feet and proceeded to enter the room. The instant he entered the room, his attention was immediately grabbed by a large machine currently working on the side.

"Sir, Place wherever your tattoo currently is in front of that beam of light."

He did just as he was told, and he placed his left hand in front of the beam; he immediately received a response as a string of text appeared in front of him.

[External Connection Established...]

[External Connection Terminated...]

Seeing the string of text, Morden couldn’t help but check out the man that had just spoken to see if he had any strange expression, and he immediately noticed there was one.

"Sir, can you please remove the hand and place it back again?"

’Again? the difficulty in registration also happens in this world too, I guess’

He did just as he was told again.

[External Connection Established...]

[External Connection Terminated...]

Now he was fully locked on the man, so he could say for sure that the man appeared extremely confused.

’Something must be wrong, but what?’

’Could something be wrong with my tattoo or something?’

’Or maybe the machine is faulty.’

He watched the man think for a while before the man then opened his mouth to speak.

"Sir, the machine is having difficulties establishing a connection with you long enough for the scan to actually occur, but since the Connection was even established, it’s confirmed that you are a Bearer."

"So I will be giving you a temporary pass, but you must be back to try again."

"Try again, uhh?"

"Alright, I will make sure I do that," he said before turning to leave the room while giving the man a nod to show courtesy.

Back outside the room, he saw the Woman that had previously left with his ID already waiting for him with his ID in her hands.

"I am done with the registration."

"You need to return tomorrow, sir, to get a Bearer badge that will allow you to accept missions and also give you the permission to use your Abilities in certain circumstances."

"The organization appreciates your valiant efforts in protecting us," the woman concluded with a deep bow.

Feeling a bit flustered by the sudden bow, Morden couldn’t help but hurriedly grab his ID and hurriedly rush away, leaving the woman staring at his back strangely.

"That felt strangely unsettling," he muttered to himself.

"Now that I am done with my registration now, what do I do now?"

"The sun is still high in the sky."

"For now, let’s try to gather as much information as possible on that news I saw on that screen."

"It might be a lead that will actually get me closer to catching whoever did this."

"I hope I am actually able to do this. If I am, then tonight,"

"Tonight I will be visiting that place."
