Chapter 19: The Administrator

’Uhhhh? The cat spoke, or am I hallucinating due to the amount of blood I have lost?’ he wondered as his head approached the ground.

THUD!

His body hit the ground harshly.

"What is going on? I need to open my eyes; I need to see," he muttered while trying to force his eyes open, but he only managed to open them slightly. just enough to see a small figure approaching.

"You just had to survive, didn’t you, and now you are forcing me to do this," he heard the voice say again.

"You shouldn’t exist anyway, so why are you resisting so much?"

The more the voice spoke, the more confused Morden became, and in turn, the pain in his head increased by multiple folds, almost becoming unbearable.

But Morden decided to ignore the pain and seek answers.

"What have I done? I have only tried to complete my assigned Mission," Morden muttered, but it was still loud enough for the white cat to hear.

"Completing the mission is exactly the problem; you were never meant to be successful."

’What? why?’

"That idiot you killed was a very important piece; killing him has completely destroyed a lot of things."

"I knew you were going to be trouble the first day I set my eyes on you."

"I guess I won’t be needing this distasteful form anymore,"

From the fickle amount of things he could see, Morden noticed a change occurring to the figure in front of him just after it finished speaking.

The White Cat was slowly growing taller and gently shedding off all the fur around his voice; before he could blink, the figure in front of him was not a cat anymore.

Instead it was an extremely handsome man dressed in a Pristine white garment that seemed to radiate a holy aura. But compared to his holy appearance, his eyes showed a very demonic presence.

The contrast between the face and the body wasn’t the only strange thing about the figure in front of Morden; another thing he managed to observe was that he couldn’t see his legs on the floor anymore.

The man was floating in the air.

Morden wasn’t the only one shocked by the sudden turn of events; even the surrounding villagers that had been cheering Morden on previously were left with their mouths wide open.

One minute, they were looking at a cat; the next minute, it was speaking, and then boom, it was a demonic-faced Angelic man.

"Mommy, what is that?" a child asked while pointing at the floating man.

The child’s voice suddenly attracted the Man’s attention; he had been speaking since completely ignoring their presence, but now that they had interfered, that was about to change.

"Ohh, you pathetic things," the man said with pity on his face.

"I am sorry you had such an idiotic brute as your leader."

"He came begging, wanting to become a real person, a true Bearer."

"And I gave him the opportunity,"

"But look what he did to you all, made you all suffer for so long all for it to end with dying to this outsider."

While lying on the ground, Morden could slightly sense the dread that was slowly permeating the air; he could feel something was about to happen.

He tensed up, trying to stand, but his body was just too weak at the moment, and he had even lost too much blood.

"There’s still something to be thankful for though; you all still have one final use."

"You will help me in teaching this arrogant Outsider a lesson."

"Sadly, I can’t kill him with my own hands."

With a raise of his hands, a faint golden light sprouted out from his arms and charged straight into every single village in the surrounding area.

The young, the old, the middle-aged—no one was spared.

"Now, each of you should pick up the largest stone you can find; your target is lying down here,"

The injured Morden heard that, and his heart immediately sank in his chest.

’Is he? No, no, he won’t.

"Rain them on him,"

All of the villagers at this point were already holding rocks of various sizes, the hazy gaze locked straight on Morden.

Hearing the order, they all released the rocks with them in a weird synchronized way.

Rocks of various sizes flew across the air, all aimed at the immobile Morden.

BANG!

Morden felt a rock hit him hard on the leg, and then another one hit his back, and the next moment there was almost nowhere on his body that hadn’t been hit by a rock at this point.

Deep purple bruises could be seen all over him as he squirmed on the ground in pain, too tired to even scream.

"Really Tenacious, I will give you that."

"It seems a pile of rocks won’t be killing you, so I have no more use for you people," the man said while turning to the villagers.

"Morden Tales, remember this moment, remember their faces, remember everything."

"You did this to them."

"Your existence, your interference, is resulting in their death now,"

"And they won’t be the last; they are just the first victims of your existence."

"Remember, The One who shouldn’t be only brings death to those who Should be," his eyes looking at Morden with pure hatred and anger.

"YOU DON’T DARE," Morden forcefully shouted with everything he had.

At this point, he didn’t care about the person who was in front of him, nor did he care about the Mission anymore; the only thing he was focused on was the villagers all around him.

He wasn’t shouting because of how much he loved them or any feeling of attachment; he was shouting because he felt like he couldn’t hold on anymore.

He couldn’t hold in the weight of having people’s deaths directly on him.

The family of the original owner of this body was killed; he didn’t know how, but he has been subconsciously blaming himself.

And now, this man was about to kill the whole village due to his actions; his heart couldn’t hold it, so he shouted, he shouted at the top of his lungs.

Hearing Morden’s shout, the man didn’t react; he only smiled gently and snapped his fingers.

Then Morden saw it: the villagers that had just stoned him were slowly turning to dust and silently flying away with the wind.

They were all dead.

"BASTARD," he shouted while trying his best to move, but his body still didn’t listen.

"You did this," the man said in a calm voice.

"I was only the Administrator," and then he silently vanished, leaving nothing but silence.
