Chapter 129: Surrounded
"You're a man? You're actually a man?" Zhang Wenda stared at Song Jianguo in disbelief.
He'd long thought the name Song Jianguo was too masculine, but he had never considered this possibility.
But when the ironclad truth was laid bare before him, Zhang Wenda felt as if he'd been struck in the head with an iron rod. He instantly saw stars!
The moment Zhang Wenda shouted this, Aunt Flo, who was standing nearby, rushed over and started cursing at him.
"Fuck your mother! If she's a man, then what does that make me? Uncle Flo?"
Zhang Wenda turned to look at him. With the discovery that Song Jianguo was male, he now found Aunt Flo's very existence stranger and stranger.
"I knew there was something wrong with you from the start! How the hell can Aunt Flo be a real person?! And you even took a bus when you left! It's like a bad joke! Speak up! Are you two in this together, messing with me?!"
Song Jianguo finally snapped out of it, pulling free from Zhang Wenda's grasp. He clutched his body agitatedly and said, "Who's messing with you?! I'm a girl! I really am a girl!"
"Still saying you're a girl? Then tell me what kind of woman grows *that* thing! And such a small one at that! You don't even have your past memories, so how can you be so sure of your own gender?"
Hearing Zhang Wenda's words, Song Jianguo began to waver. He truly had no concept of his life before losing his memories, no idea what had happened in his past.
"But… I know I'm a girl!"
Tears welled up in the corners of the nearly-naked Song Jianguo's eyes. He was so distraught, feeling wronged for the first time in his life. The sight was utterly pitiful—if you didn't look at her other parts.
"Oh, there there, don't cry, don't cry. No matter what happens to you, Mimi, Aunt Flo will always be with you."
Aunt Flo walked over to Song Jianguo. With a single tear of his hairy right hand, he ripped his long red dress into a miniskirt, revealing a pair of legs covered in curly black hair.
She then quickly draped the red fabric over Song Jianguo, barely covering the essential parts.
Zhang Wenda took off his shirt and threw it over, but before he could say anything more, his body flickered into a phantom and forcibly shifted half a meter to the left. Two red laser beams instantly struck the spot where he had just been standing.
When Zhang Wenda looked in the direction the lasers came from, he saw four Third Line personnel who had silently surrounded them.
The four didn't attack immediately. They just took their positions at four corners, forming a square encirclement.
"They're trying to trap us! Forget everything else! We have to break out!"
Zhang Wenda roared in a hoarse voice. His body, riddled with holes, flickered violently. With a glint of cold light from his claws, he was the first to lunge at a Third Line agent to his left.
The Third Line agent clearly hadn't expected Zhang Wenda to be so fast and retreated hastily.
This person seemed easy to deal with, but he wasn't alone. The other three red laser beams shot out again, cutting off Zhang Wenda's path. Then, a blue beam of light hit Zhang Wenda, flinging him back into the encirclement.
It was obvious these four were focused on containment. They clearly had no intention of fighting to the death, but were waiting for more reinforcements to arrive from the sky.
Watching the enemies that were still falling from the sky, Zhang Wenda grew frantic. In less than thirty seconds, the number of enemies before him would jump from four to sixteen!
"Go! All of you! If you don't want to die here, use every last trick you have!" Zhang Wenda no longer cared about friendly fire. He pulled out a mushroom and took a hard bite.
A Wai Mouse with murder in its eyes instantly appeared on the spot. There were four enemies, and two allies in Song Jianguo and Aunt Flo. Probabilistically, the Wai was more likely to go after the enemies. He was taking a gamble, and luckily, he won.
Seeing the Wai instantly burrow into an enemy's mouth, Zhang Wenda, Song Jianguo, and Aunt Flo each took on one of the remaining opponents. The situation was instantly reversed.
As Zhang Wenda finished off the person in front of him, he saw that Song Jianguo, with the help of the Black Cats, had also thrust a spear into an enemy's chest.
The two of them then went to help Aunt Flo.
But even after the immediate crisis was resolved, there wasn't a hint of a smile on anyone's face. When they saw the Third Line personnel falling from the sky like dumplings being dropped into a pot, Zhang Wenda knew their ordeal had just begun.
"I'll draw them away! You two run!" The agile Zhang Wenda shot forward, attracting the attention of the nearby Third Line personnel and giving Aunt Flo and Song Jianguo a chance to escape.
From that moment on, Zhang Wenda's extreme speed played a crucial role. Especially with the aid of the Red Core, his speed became astonishing, allowing him to flash past all the enemies landing nearby.
By the time they tried to attack, Zhang Wenda was already far away.
The Wai following Zhang Wenda was performing miraculously. With shrill SQUEAKS, it went on a mad slaughter, tearing the newly formed encirclement to shreds and allowing the other two to escape the enemy's trap.
"Into the alley!" Aunt Flo shouted, spotting a narrow passageway ahead.
Song Jianguo, with his cats, plunged into the dim alley. Aunt Flo quickly assessed the way forward. "This way, Mimi! There's a fork here! Let's head toward the crowds!"
Just as Song Jianguo and Aunt Flo, now hidden in the market crowd, were cautiously looking back toward the fierce battle, Zhang Wenda suddenly appeared in front of them, startling them both.
It turned out that once he saw Song Jianguo and Aunt Flo had shaken their pursuers, Zhang Wenda had also quickly left the area, leaving the Wai behind by itself to draw attention.
Fortunately, the Wai could only exist in places Zhang Wenda could see, so there was no risk of it teleporting to his side and starting to slaughter his own allies.
"Let's go. Whether we can leave this Thought-Stream or not, the right move is to get away from this dangerous area first. There are more and more Third Line people."
"How can I be a man?! I can't possibly be a man!" Seeing that Song Jianguo was still obsessing over it, Zhang Wenda smacked him on the head.
"We'll talk about it after we get out!" Looking at the figures still falling from the sky, Zhang Wenda knew they would really die if they stayed any longer.
Fortunately, this time the crowds in the Thought-Stream didn't disappear, giving the three of them cover for their retreat.
Hiding and dodging, the group fled toward the edge of town. While running, Zhang Wenda glanced back in the Wai's direction and began to ponder.
'There's a problem with the logic of this little Thought-Stream. The fact that we can't eat probably means this person was tortured in the past. And whenever we use different abilities, Third Line people show up to attack. That proves this person must have been hunted by the Third Line before.'
Zhang Wenda knew a bit about the Third Line. They wouldn't mobilize so many people unless it was for something extremely important and dangerous. This person was definitely no ordinary individual; they had to be dangerous to some degree.
