Chapter 420: Visiting the Wilsons
Just as Michael had promised, he went to visit the Wilsons. He had a little information about this family, but he wanted to meet them face to face.
At least, he wanted to meet those that were related to his mother. After all, he had only met those that were related to his father so far.
He did not care much about the chaos that he had caused, both directly and indirectly. The previous day, he killed Amos, taking revenge for his parents.
Even though he had the ambition of bringing them back to life, that was something that he was not sure how he was going to do it.
In the system store, of course, there were other methods that he could use to bring them back to life. It was just that, most of these methods were not reliable at all.
It would not be impossible for him to end up bringing zombies into this world, using some of those methods. And of course, Michael did not want walking corpses for his parents.
Because of this, he was looking forward to the day that another civilization would appear. Michael believed that beyond the skies of this world, there definitely existed other civilizations.
This was the only explanation that he could get to explain about the existence of the system. It was something that was beyond what could be found in this world, at least, it could not be created by the technology that could be found here.
Since he had already told Marion the previous day that he would go for a visit, they had planned the visit in the afternoon.
For the whole morning, Michael spent most of it in the villa, using the training chamber. As for Kate, Michael was not worried about her.
Just like the previous day, she left early in the morning together with Lina. Michael was not really sure about what they were doing, but he could guess that it was related to NEXUS.
As the appointed time approached, Michael took a shower, before he finally left the mansion. Since he did not have a car here, he did not buy another. Instead, Benson arranged one for him.
As for the other car that he had bought for Kate, the two ladies were using it. Michael did not bother to buy another car using SP, as he was intending to save the points.
This was an idea that he got a few days ago, after the auction. He realized, he was not sure how many SP he might need in a situation where another civilization suddenly appeared.
At the moment, with the amount of SP that he currently possessed, he could afford almost everything within the system store. But there were a few items that he could not afford for the time being.
This was something that made him quite cautious. After all, the principle of the system mechanism was that, all the items that could be found within the system store had a relation to this world.
Even though not every item that could be found within the system store could be found in real life, but one cannot be too sure. Yes, most of the items, especially those advanced items, they were mostly work of fiction.
But even then, Michael believed that just like how he did not know about the mutants, there was a possibility that there was much more that he did not know about.
It took almost an hour of driving before he finally arrived at the Wilson residence. The moment that he got there, he found that Marion was already waiting for him at the entrance of the family villa.
Her long black hair rested neatly over her shoulders, moving gently as a faint breeze blew. Her amber eyes remained as striking as ever, standing out against her smooth complexion.
Dressed for the cool autumn afternoon, she wore a light beige trench coat over a dark green turtleneck sweater, paired with black slim-fit pants and brown ankle boots.
The moment that she saw Michael arriving, a bright smile appeared on her face. She had been waiting for Michael to visit them.
Even though he had already said that he would be coming over today, she had been a little restless. She was not sure if he would come, or maybe something would come up and prevent him from coming over.
As for why she was this anxious, it was mainly because of his mother. She did not get to see Michael’s mother, her aunt, that much when she was young. After all, she was very young when Cynthia left with Zachary.
She had memories of her, and had seen several portraits of her. But even then, she still missed her.
Another thing, it was due to the fact that Michael had saved her. He not only saved her, but he even had her family, a family that he did not know much about.
Before they met, they did not have any interaction with each other. When he was suffering alone in the hands of gangsters in a small city, they did not know anything about it.
Therefore, Marion felt extremely grateful at Michael. And more than that, she felt guilty and that she owed him. She was after all older than him by 7 years. With such an age gap, she was supposed to be the one to take care of him, not the other way around.
And today, she had been waiting for almost an hour, not long after Michael made a call, saying that he was on his way.
Now, when she saw him arriving, she was excited. Just after he got out of the car, she went ahead and grabbed his arm, before pulling him into her embrace.
Of course, with Michael’s strength, it would have been easy for him to be able to resist. But he found no reason to resist his cousin’s enthusiasm.
It was only a few seconds later that Marion finally let go. Then, she looked a little embarrassed due to the enthusiasm that she could not control.
While chuckling, she said, "Welcome home. My dad and mom are inside, I think that everything is ready by now."
Michael nodded at her with a smile, as he followed her into the villa. The moment that he got in, he was hit with a wave of enticing aroma that was coming from the kitchen.
Clearly, the food was just being prepared. And judging from the aroma, Michael could tell that a variety of dishes had been prepared.
"Wow! You really look like my sister. Even though you have much more resemblance towards your father, but some of your features definitely look like those of my sister." Suddenly, a voice came from the stairs.
Abel, a man with amber eyes, short blonde hair and a mustache, Marion’s father and Cynthia’s brother, stood there looking at Michael.
He had seen Michael’s images several times. After all, before Marion left Michael’s villa back in Brenton city, she had taken quite a few photos with him.
But as he looked at Michael, he suddenly remembered his sister. Just looking at Michael, he could see the resemblance that had with her.
Even though he had already accepted that his sister was gone, he still felt nostalgic looking at Michael. Memories of his time together with his sister flashed in his mind, and he was nearly overwhelmed by emotion.
Still, remembering that today was supposed to be a happy event, he immediately shoved all those emotions down. He took a deep breath, smiling as he descended the stairs, approaching Michael.
With all the skills that Michael possessed related to human psychology, he could immediately tell that Abel felt nostalgic. Clearly, he really loved his sister, and his presence here today reminded him of her.
Nonetheless, he did not say anything, as he shook hands with Abel.
While holding his hand, Abel led him towards the sofa, "Come, we have a lot to talk about. I just hope that you don’t treat me like a stranger, even though this is the first time that we are actually meeting.
If possible, I would like to make up for all the time that you grew up without us. I know, this is not something that can be accomplished within a day, and some of the things cannot be made up for, but I hope that you would give us a chance."
Michael did not resist, as he followed Abel and sat down. And upon hearing his words, he responded, "No problem at all."
Of course, Michael could not just pretend that he was familiar with Abel. Yes, he possessed the information about this guy, but that was it. They did not have any prior interaction, so of course, there was literally not much bond between them.
The only relationship that they had at the moment was the fact that Abel was his uncle, and he was his nephew.
Still, just from the information that he possessed, Michael did not mind building a relationship with Abel and the rest of the family. At least, they were much better as compared to the Santos.
Soon, the two of them began chatting about mundane things. But, it was mostly Abel asking questions, with Michael responding.
Marion watched from the side, and a slight smile appeared on her lips. It had been quite a while ever since she had seen her father like this.
As she thought about this, she decided to go to the kitchen, to help her mother out. Previously, it was Abel who was helping out while she was waiting for Michael’s arrival.
With him chatting with Michael now, she had to go and help out so that her mother would come over and meet Michael.
