Instant Death

Eleven stories, okay! I get it! You're a good Japanese!

It was not until evening that the mists arrived in the northern city.

"You had quite a distance. About an hour on foot, around four kilometers."

"No, I didn't think arriving would be such a time."

Chichika (and Mochika) say in a mix of haters. Because suddenly the fog fell asleep at night.

Thanks to this, I'm quite late to leave.

"You have no choice. Use your powers to get sleepy."

"But isn't that bad?

Chichika asked worryingly. Chichikas' safety will also be of concern as it depends almost on their ability to fog at night.

"Nothing? I'm just drowsy enough to stay awake if I want to, and even if I sleep, I can detect a killing intent?

"What, the lack of its disadvantages..."

Blur Chichika approximated, and the night fog saw the city in front of him.

The first thing you see is a big wall. They're surrounding the city, and access is restricted.

There's a gate on the wall, so I guess that's the entrance.

"Hey, aren't you trying to close some kind of gate?

"Well, aren't you going to close it in the evening or so?

"Then hurry!

"Sudden haste"

Chichika rushed out, and the night fog followed.

"Um, excuse me! Could you please let me in!

"I don't know what you're talking about!

Chichika spoke to the gatekeeper, but what returned was many words that could not be judged.

The gatekeeper has blonde hair and a deep carved, far removed face from the Japanese. It would be unnatural for Japanese to be spoken with a pepper on this face.

"Well, isn't it normal not to go through with it if it's a different world?

It's pretty cumbersome if the words don't make sense, but the night fog thought this might happen.

"A little, I know. Are you Japanese?"

Then the gatekeeper spoke in one word of Japanese.

"That's right. Can you let me in?

"Wait. Lord, I'll call you."

The night fogs were passed into the understatement.

After sitting in a chair and waiting for a while, the gatekeeper brought the man back.

This one is Japanese, no matter what you think, and wears fancy clothes.

"Are you really Japanese? You're not talking to the guys who came in the daytime? I don't want to hurt you. Like what?

said the man without even trying to hide his frustration.

This man would be the lord.

According to Hanakawa's information, those who survived as Sage candidates, known in this world as Sage's squire, were in an important position.

"I came after them because I got away with them at noon. Why don't you just let me in the city?

Discussions with Chichika led me to join my classmates first.

I don't know if I can get along with the guys who made the night fog, but the tips for getting back to the original world lie with the wise guy.

It turned out that it would be reasonable policy to be with a group of people who aspire to be wise.

"Shit. If it's true, I'm going to take the admission fee, but I don't know what the money is anyway - right? A wise man told me not to stand in the way of the Sage candidate. I'll let you in."

"Thanks for that. By the way, how much is the admission fee?

"Thousand En per person."

I seem to have about that, but the night fog thought I wouldn't have to pay if I just said so.

"Looks like the noon guys headed to Wang Du, but how do I get there from here?

"Master Sage told me to stay out of your way, but he didn't tell me to cooperate. Find out for yourself."

"Thank you."

It would be useless to be here any longer. Night fog took a seat, and Chichika followed suit.

"Oh yeah. If you don't have any money, you don't have anywhere to stay, do you? If it's just a woman, you can stay in my mansion personally, okay?

"Fine!

Lords say with a low eye, but Chichika did not make it a one-sided one.

Chichika grabs the hand of the night mist and walks forcefully away.

I just walked into the city, stopped and finally let go of my hand.

"You didn't like him that much?

Chichika was in a strange panic and the night fog felt suspicious.

"That's annoying, I'm sure, but what worried me was his life. I thought Takahiro was going to kill you."

"Oh, my God, make people look like killers"

"What, I'm surprised you're unconscious?

"You know what? You don't care, you don't upset me, you don't kill me to that extent. What do you think people are?"

The night fog was only slightly scratched. They thought they'd kill whatever it was, even though it wasn't harmful.

"Hey, look, look! You're in a town that feels like fantasy! Ahhh! Look, some people look like cats or something! The one called the Beast Man?

Chichika was looking around the city, not even realizing the heartbreak of the night mist.

The cobbled streets are lined with stone buildings.

The civilisation level didn't seem so low, it was a flavorful township such as Europe in recent times.

"Street lights are electricity? Could it possibly be rechargeable?

"Are you still saying that? So, what are we going to do?"

"If you're going to do something, I guess before sundown. Do you have any ideas?

"I think we should get weapons first!

Chichika seemed to think that was a very good idea.

I don't know the letter of this world, but I somehow know if it's a weapons dealer with the painting on the sign.

The night fogs tried to enter a weapon shop that looked like they had caught sight of them.

"I don't think I need a weapon to protect myself."

"But Takahiro, if you defend yourself, they won't die, will they?

"I think you deserve someone who's attacked you with the intention of killing you."

"But if this one had a weapon, it might not be so easy for them to attack either."

"I wonder. Where we were armed, it didn't seem to work very well."

However, the night fog thought I could buy it if Chichika was convinced by it.

The store was busy. I guess the fact that there is demand for weapons is that much of a dangerous world.

The weapon is on display in the store and the customers seem to be looking for it. Looks like it's in the back of the store, but I think it's a luxury item.

Guests also included things that were clearly not human.

They coexist in this world, though they vary from human beings with just cat ears growing to human detached beings with their entire bodies wrapped in beast hair and scales.

"How about this?

Chichika hands me a sword about 30 cm across the blade.

I tried to hold the night fog in my hand. Lighter than I thought, looks good to take around, but a little less forgiving.

"If it's for intimidation, wouldn't you rather be a tough guy?

"It's hard to carry around when it's heavy. Takahiro, you don't seem fit."

"Well, whatever."

"Then that's settled!

Chichika was strangely clear. Besides, it seems like you're used to handling weapons anyway.

What Chichika chose for herself was a stick and a bow.

"Um, it's a little balanced. I should like to put a spear on it, but do I have to modify this..."

Chichika says she's got a bow in her hand.

"I'm sorry I'm clear, but do you get the word?

"Well, why don't you show me what you're buying and give me the money and I'll be fine?

Chichika took the weapon to the counter.

"Excuse me, do you understand Japanese?

"Ok! I get it! You're a good Japanese!

Again, one word, the inhabitants of this world seemed used to dealing with the Japanese.

The store owner was surprised when Chichika appropriately took out the gold coins.

Apparently, it was a lot, but there's as much money as there is. Chichika pressed the store owner as it was.

The store owner also thought it was bad as it was, besides putting a sheath on it.

"It's nice that I bought a lot of things, but isn't a bow hard?

"Oh, I'm fine. Because I'm used to it."

"Is Mr. Tannoura a bow club?

"I'm not in the club, but I guess it's sort of similar"

Leaving the store.

Then a girl with cat ears stood.

He's staring straight at the night fogs, so he's been waiting.

"Brothers, are you Japanese? I've never seen this city before, but is there something wrong with it?

Fluent but strange Japanese at the end of the story, the cat-eared girl has spoken.
