"What time is it?"

Rory reached for her optical computer by the pillow and glanced at it. Her eyes instantly went wide.

"It’s almost eleven o’clock! And you’re telling me it’s ’still early’?"

She was supposed to attend the Festival of All Females today. Lola was coming to fetch her after lunch.

Vangar took the optical computer out of Rory’s hand and pulled her back into his embrace.

"Jasper and the others haven’t finished making lunch yet. Sleep a little more. When lunch is ready, I’ll carry you downstairs."

"I promise you won’t be late for the Festival of All Females."

Since they had tossed and turned until too late last night, Vangar was genuinely worried Rory hadn’t had enough sleep. What if she got sleepy when she was out playing in the afternoon? Knowing her, she wouldn’t want to come back then.

Rory glared at him. "It’s all your fault. I clearly told you to stop."

Vangar suppressed a laugh and quickly admitted his mistake.

"It is my fault. I promise I’ll definitely listen to you next time."

Rory didn’t believe him for a second. "You said the same thing in the first half of the night."

And what happened?

"Humph!"

Rory bit Vangar’s face with force. She did use some strength; she left a tooth mark on Vangar’s face.

Vangar didn’t feel any pain at all; instead, he laughed and showed concern for Rory.

"Let me see, did you hurt your teeth biting me?"

He was thick-skinned and wasn’t afraid of being bitten. Rory didn’t hurt her teeth, but her feelings were slightly hurt. Rory was about to push Vangar away a little when his optical computer rang.

Vangar took the optical computer and opened it. Rory leaned over for a look; it was a message from Wen to Vangar.

Wen: [Lunch will be ready very soon. You can wake Rory up and have her come downstairs to eat.]

After reading Wen’s message, Rory immediately sat up.

"Lunch is ready. Let’s get up quickly and go downstairs to eat."

She was afraid that if she didn’t get up now, she wouldn’t be able to get up again. Vangar watched Rory’s urgent expression and smiled helplessly, his smile full of indulgence and adoration. He reached out to encircle Rory’s waist, took the clothes from her hand, and gently put them on her.

"Rory, I know you are going out in the afternoon. I definitely won’t act recklessly again." You don’t have to be in such a hurry."

He was not a beast; he could suppress his desires.

Rory didn’t believe him. Through the blanket, she gave Vangar a pinch.

"You said that several times last night. Your credibility with me right now is zero!"

Vangar sucked in a breath of cold air and looked at Rory with a resentful gaze.

"Rory~"

Meeting his gaze, Rory guiltily withdrew her hand. She forgot this was Vangar’s first night. He was not like Yuel, who was so thick-skinned and battle-hardened; he might not be able to withstand this...

It was all to blame on this disobedient hand of hers. When did it develop such a bad habit?

"That... I’ll go freshen up first."

Rory didn’t dare look at Vangar again and quickly ran to the bathroom.

Vangar: "..."

When Rory came out after freshening up, she saw Vangar still sitting on the bed with a resentful look. Rory walked over to look at him.

"Um... it shouldn’t be pinched broken, right?"

She swore she really didn’t use much force. Vangar’s face was red, and he pursed his lips. Damn it, who exactly taught her to play like this?

"I’m fine."

Vangar endured the urge to drag the person over and said in a low voice, "Rory, you go downstairs first to eat. I... I’ll go down later."

As a veteran, Rory instantly understood what Vangar was about to do. She immediately nodded, "Then you get busy first. I’m going to eat now."

Vangar: "..."

Downstairs.

Nix saw Rory come out of the levitating elevator alone and immediately ran toward her.

"Rory."

Nix gave Rory a big hug and a forceful kiss on the cheek.

"Rory, I made you a lot of delicious food. Hurry up and come with me."

After speaking, he glanced toward the levitating elevator door again.

"Where’s Vangar? How come he didn’t come down with you?"

"He’s busy." Rory replied. Fearing that it would create another misunderstanding like when she said Vincent was ’impotent’ previously, she specifically explained: "I had him help me tidy up the room a bit. He’ll be down in a little while."

"Oh." Nix nodded. He quickly tapped on his optical computer. He showed Rory the photos of Vangar he had taken last night.

"Rory, in the morning, I picked out a few sets of clothes. Will you help me look and see if any of them are nice?"

The style of clothes Nix picked today was similar to the suit style Vangar wore last night. Rory first sized Nix up, then looked at him with a suspicious gaze.

"How come you suddenly like suits? I remember you previously said that what you hate most are suits and your work uniform."

Nix lowered his head, a blush appearing on his face.

"Isn’t this ’times have changed’? Last night I saw Vangar wearing a suit to your room and you didn’t throw him out. I guessed you might like..."

Hearing Nix’s explanation, Rory smiled and patted his face.

"Nix, I like whatever you look like. You don’t need to do things you don’t like to do for my sake."

Rory said, had him lean down, and leaned close to his ear to speak to him in a low voice.

"Moreover, compared to wearing a suit, I prefer you..."

Nix’s face immediately turned completely red.

"Rory, you’ve learned bad things." She actually said such words.

"Then do you like it?" Rory asked him with a laugh. Nix nodded forcefully, "I like it."

"Since you also like it, then don’t fret over the suit matter anymore."

She smiled and tapped a finger on Nix’s optical computer.

"Come, now explain to me what is going on with this group that I don’t know about?"

Just now, when Nix opened his optical computer, Rory had noticed this group. These guys, they were sneakily building a group behind her back again.

"Rory, you listen to my explanation. This group... this group, it..."

"Explain then; I’m listening to your fabrications."

Rory cast a non-smiling glance at Nix and started walking toward the dining room.

"As long as you think of your fabrications and reasons before tomorrow morning, that will do."

Nix: "..."

Had he known, he wouldn’t have built this group.

Entering the dining room, Rory glanced at Wen and the others who were already waiting there. She asked: "Has Yuel not returned?"

Vincent nodded, "Not returned yet. I asked him just now; he’s still in a meeting. Probably won’t be back until tonight."

"So hardworking." Rory gave a heartbroken sigh.

"Where’s Paros?" she asked, "He also hasn’t returned?"

That day, going to the Divine Battlefield, after Bree died, Paros suddenly left. At that time, Rory’s entire attention was on Xarion and she didn’t notice Paros leaving. It was Vincent who told her. He said someone from the water realm had come looking for Paros about something. Paros’s spiritual force was mostly recovered, so leaving wouldn’t cause any problems. Rory hadn’t bothered with him further. Nor did she ask about his situation.

"No." Vincent shook his head, then asked Rory with a laugh: "Are you worried about him? Should I give him a call and ask?"

"No need to call," Rory said. "Just send him a message asking him if his spiritual force is okay. As long as he’s okay, that’s enough."
