Chapter 153: Ron vs 2nd Echelon Zombie

Dark clouds formed from condensed Lightning Mana hung above the battlefield as Thunderstorm Domain continued raging around Ron.

Bluish-white currents repeatedly descended from the clouds and spread across the black-gray ground, filling the area with Lightning Mana.

Standing within the storm was the Level 55 Zombie Race soldier, its long polearm held firmly in both hands while heavy armor protected most of its body.

Several marks already covered the armor from Ron’s previous attacks, though none had penetrated deeply enough to cause serious damage.

Ron was already pushing Thunder God Overdrive.

Dense Lightning Mana continuously surged through his Divine Lightning Body, forcing his muscles beyond their normal limits and accelerating his reactions considerably.

The strain was increasing with every passing second, so Ron had no intention of turning this into a prolonged battle.

A streak of bluish-white light suddenly crossed the soldier’s side.

Ron appeared within range and thrust his spear toward its ribs.

The zombie reacted immediately, sweeping its polearm outward as dark Mana extended beyond the broad blade.

Ron disappeared before the attack reached him.

Lightning Flash carried him around the soldier and directly behind its back.

His spear shot forward.

Clang!

The spearhead struck the heavy armor. Lightning exploded across the metal and forced the Level 55 soldier forward, but the plate endured the impact.

Ron was already moving again before the zombie could turn.

The soldier quickly realized that attempting to follow his speed directly was pointless. It lowered its stance and began using the reach of its polearm to control the surrounding space instead, sweeping the weapon across wide paths whenever Ron approached.

Dark Mana extended beyond the physical blade, making every swing much more difficult to avoid.

Ron flashed in from the side.

The polearm immediately changed direction.

He twisted his body and avoided the blade itself, but the outer edge of the dark Mana still grazed his waist and tore through his shirt.

A thin wound opened across his side.

Before Ron even landed, pale-green Life energy flowed into the injury through Life Link.

Evelyne had been watching him the entire time.

The bleeding stopped quickly as the wound began closing.

Ron barely paid attention to it before accelerating again.

The longer he remained in motion, the more power Thunderclap Momentum accumulated. Storm Momentum continued storing part of the force and Lightning energy generated by his movements as well, gradually turning every burst of acceleration into power that could be released later.

Ron did not need to slowly wear the zombie down.

He only needed to create one opening large enough to end the fight.

The Level 55 soldier raised its polearm and brought it down with tremendous force.

Ron vanished from underneath it.

BOOM!

Dark stone shattered outward.

Ron emerged through the flying debris and drove his spear toward the zombie’s throat, but the shaft of the polearm rose in time to intercept him.

Clang!

The collision forced Ron backward.

The Level 55 soldier still possessed greater raw Strength, so Ron did not bother contesting it directly. He allowed the force to push him away, then used Lightning Flash the moment his feet touched the ground.

He shot forward again.

This time, the spearhead struck the armor covering the zombie’s ribs.

Crack!

A visible fracture appeared across the plate.

Ron’s eyes sharpened.

He changed direction before the soldier could retaliate and attacked the same section again.

The polearm twisted toward him, but Ron forced more Lightning Mana through Thunder God Overdrive and accelerated out of its path.

His spear struck the fractured plate.

Clang!

The crack spread farther across the armor.

The Level 55 soldier roared and released a violent burst of dark Mana from its body.

Ron had already begun retreating, but the expanding force caught his side and hurled him across the ground.

His shoulder struck the stone before he rolled back onto his feet.

Blood seeped through the torn section of his shirt where the dark Mana had ripped open his side.

Pale-green Life energy surged through Life Link before he had fully steadied himself.

The bleeding rapidly slowed as Evelyne’s healing repaired the damaged flesh.

Ron did not wait for the wound to disappear completely.

He pushed Thunder God Overdrive to a higher output.

Bluish-white Lightning became denser around his body as the increased strain pressed against his muscles.

Then Ron moved.

His next burst of acceleration was noticeably faster.

The Level 55 soldier barely managed to turn before Ron’s spear crashed directly into the fractured armor covering its ribs.

Crack!

The damaged plate caved inward.

Ron disappeared again and crossed behind the soldier before the returning polearm could reach him.

Another thrust struck the same weakness.

The armor finally began breaking apart.

Cain watched the battle from a distance and quickly understood Ron’s intention.

Ron had stopped trying to gradually damage his opponent. With Thunder God Overdrive already pushed this far, he was using every Lightning Flash to build as much momentum as possible before ending the battle with one decisive attack.

Thunderstorm Domain strengthened his Lightning output while the currents surrounding him replenished part of the energy accumulating within his spear.

The Level 55 soldier sensed the growing danger.

It stopped pursuing Ron and planted both feet firmly against the ground.

Dark Mana poured into its polearm until the broad blade was nearly hidden beneath the thick energy surrounding it.

Ron saw what it was preparing but did not slow down.

He had already accumulated enough momentum.

The zombie twisted its body and swung.

A massive crescent of dark Mana tore horizontally through Thunderstorm Domain, sweeping across the ground and covering such a wide area that Ron could no longer avoid it by simply circling around.

Lightning exploded beneath his feet.

Instead of retreating, Ron accelerated directly toward the incoming attack.

Cain’s eyes narrowed, but he remained where he was.

This was Ron’s Advancement Mission.

The Level 55 soldier had to remain completely his opponent.

The dark crescent rapidly closed the remaining distance.

Ron continued forward until the attack was nearly upon him.

Then he bent his knees.

Lightning erupted beneath his feet as all the strength of his Divine Lightning Body exploded upward.

Ron’s body shot into the air.

The enormous crescent swept beneath him, passing close enough that the dark Mana disturbed his clothes before continuing through the storm behind him.

The Level 55 soldier immediately raised its head.

Ron had already recognized the opening.

The zombie had committed too much of its strength to the previous swing, leaving its polearm extended far from a defensive position while Ron was now descending directly toward it.

His gaze locked onto the fractured armor covering its ribs.

Ron tightened both hands around his spear.

The accumulated power of Thunderclap Momentum surged through his body and poured into the weapon.

Storm Momentum released at the same time, adding the force and Lightning energy it had stored throughout the battle.

The bluish-white currents spread across the spear before rapidly compressing toward its tip.

Even the Lightning surrounding Thunderstorm Domain began converging toward him.

The Level 55 soldier finally recovered from its swing and desperately tried to raise the polearm.

But it was already too late as Ron had already used his (Heavenly Thunder Dragon Spear) skill while descending.
