[Ding!]

[Advancement Mission completed.]

[You have successfully dealt considerable damage to a 1st Echelon being.]

[Additional evaluation detected: Target has been killed by your attack.]

[Advancement requirements fulfilled.]

A tremendous wave of Mana suddenly erupted from Sonya’s body.

Cain’s expression became serious when he saw the crimson-gold flames spread outward around her as Sonya closed her eyes.

The Mana circulating throughout her body suddenly began rushing toward her chest.

Instead of remaining scattered through her Mana pathways, the energy rapidly gathered at a single point as more and more Mana compressed inward.

A Core gradually began taking shape.

The surrounding Fire Mana surged again the moment its structure stabilized.

Sonya’s body strengthened immediately.

She could feel that her physical attributes rose sharply, while the Mana radiating from her became noticeably denser than before.

[Mana Core successfully formed.]

[You have advanced to the 1st Echelon.]

The transformation should have ended there, but Sonya suddenly gasped as a powerful golden light erupted from the center of her chest.

Cain’s eyes narrowed.

Inside Sonya’s body, one of the nine dormant Suns had begun trembling.

The previously embryonic sphere rapidly contracted as Fire Mana rushed toward it.

Its surface became brighter with every passing second.

What had previously looked like little more than a dormant concentration of Solar energy gradually transformed until it truly resembled a miniature Sun.

Sonya’s eyes suddenly opened, golden-red light filled her pupils.

Then, above her head, a small Sun slowly manifested into existence.

It was only slightly larger than her fist, yet the instant it appeared, the temperature around them rose violently.

Cain immediately understood what had happened.

’One of them had awakened.’

Sonya stared at the miniature Sun floating above her head, and a wide smile gradually appeared on her face.

[Nine Suns Divine Body has responded to your Echelon advancement.]

[First Sun awakened.]

[Current Awakened Suns: 1/9.]

Before Sonya could fully process the change, another notification appeared.

[A new skill has been awakened.]

[Solar Flare]

[Draws an enormous amount of Solar Fire from a manifested Sun before compressing it at the Sun’s surface.]

[The accumulated Solar energy is released as a devastating stream of concentrated Solar Fire, possessing tremendous temperature, penetration, and destructive power.]

[The power of Solar Flare increases greatly with the number and strength of awakened Suns.]

[Using Solar Flare consumes a massive amount of the manifested Sun’s accumulated energy and places tremendous strain on both the Sun and the user’s Mana Core.]

[Repeated use within a short period greatly increases Mana consumption and may force the manifested Sun to return to the user’s body.]

Sonya’s eyes brightened as she read through the description.

She had only just advanced to the 1st Echelon, yet the Nine Suns Divine Body had already awakened its first Sun and granted her another powerful Skill.

Before she could even test it, another System message appeared.

[Congratulations.]

[You are the tenth player to kill a First-Echelon being while remaining an Unranked Awakener.]

[Please select the name that will represent you in the World Announcement.]

Sonya immediately froze as she had never expected that she would actually be included in a list that countless people could only dream of entering.

Then she slowly turned toward Cain.

Cain raised an eyebrow.

"Don’t look at me."

"You chose Heavenly Dragon."

"Exactly, which means my naming sense is clearly excellent."

Ron immediately laughed.

"That’s exactly why she shouldn’t ask you."

Cain rolled his eyes and ignored him.

Sonya looked back toward the miniature Sun floating above her and thought for several seconds.

The crimson-gold sphere burned quietly, releasing waves of heat that caused the air around it to distort.

Then her lips curved upward as she said softly.

"Blazing Sun Maiden."

[Name confirmed.]

The next moment, the familiar cold voice of the System resounded throughout the entire World.

[World Announcement.]

[The tenth player to kill a First-Echelon being while remaining an Unranked Awakener has appeared.]

[The name "Blazing Sun Maiden" shall be recorded in the history of this World.]

[Blazing Sun Maiden has received a Cyan Scroll.]

Cain was not particularly surprised that Sonya had only placed tenth.

When he accomplished the same feat, he had been the second person in the world to do so. Since then, several exceptionally powerful Awakeners had begun appearing one after another.

The Radiant Sword Saint had claimed fourth place.

Not long afterward, the Northern Tyrant became the fifth.

And more names had continued appearing over the following hours, and now Sonya had taken the tenth position.

A Cyan Scroll materialized in her hand.

Sonya stared at it for a moment before looking toward Cain.

"Should I save it?"

Cain shook his head.

"No. Just use it since we are now doing the World-Class Mission."

Sonya immediately understood what he meant.

There was little reason to preserve a resource that could make her stronger when they had barely begun exploring a place containing enemies several Echelons above them.

She crushed the scroll.

Cyan light immediately burst from the parchment and wrapped around her body.

Instead of spreading throughout her completely, most of the energy gathered around one of her existing Skills.

Sonya’s expression changed.

[A compatible Skill evolution has been detected.]

[Inferno Orb is evolving.]

New information flooded into her mind.

The method she had previously used to condense Fire Mana changed rapidly, becoming far more refined as the cyan energy reconstructed the Skill.

Nine Suns Divine Body responded almost instinctively to the transformation, allowing Sonya to understand the new process without difficulty.

[Ding! Inferno Orb has evolved into Inferno Star.]

[Inferno Star]

[Condenses an immense amount of Fire Mana into an extremely dense sphere resembling a miniature star.]

[The concentrated flames release intense heat even before impact, scorching nearby targets as the sphere travels.]

[The user may detonate it at will, causing the compressed Fire Mana to erupt outward in a devastating explosion with tremendous heat, penetration, and destructive force.]

Sonya stared at the description for several seconds, then looked down at her hands.

Her smile widened further.

In less than ten minutes, she had advanced to the 1st Echelon, awakened the first Sun within her Divine-rank Talent, gained Solar Flare, and evolved Inferno Orb into a considerably stronger Skill.

"Today is a good day."

Ron glanced toward her and sneered.

"You should try getting a Mythical-rank item too. Makes the day even better."

Cain immediately turned toward him.

"Don’t fucking start your bullshit."

Sonya laughed.

The miniature Sun floating above her gradually dimmed before shrinking into a point of crimson-gold light and returning to her body.

Cain looked toward the distant ridges again.

They had not even traveled three kilometers into the Invasion Corridor, yet Sonya had already undergone a massive increase in strength.

However, they still had more than ten kilometers remaining before reaching the Southern Anchor Gate.

"Let’s continue."

The group resumed moving.

As they traveled farther away from the Dimensional Fringe, their surroundings became increasingly unfamiliar.

Fragments that clearly came from their world almost completely disappeared.

In their place were remnants none of them could identify.

A shattered pillar several meters wide lay across a shallow depression in the terrain. Its surface was made from pale-blue stone, but the material looked nothing like anything Cain had encountered before.

Not far from it, half of an enormous metal wheel protruded vertically from the ground.

Even Jack looked small standing beside it.

Whatever kind of machine or structure the wheel had once belonged to must have been enormous.

They continued onward until Cain suddenly slowed down.
