Chapter 60: Undying God Body (Divine-rank Talent)
[Undying God Body - Divine-rank Talent]
[Physique +300%. Strength +100%. Agility +66%.]
[Greatly strengthens the body, vitality, regenerative ability, and resistance to physical and energy-based damage. The user’s flesh, muscles, bones, organs, and blood vessels possess extraordinary durability, while the body continuously repairs injuries at tremendous speed and instinctively redirects Mana and Life energy toward damaged areas.]
[When the body is pushed beyond its normal limits, damaged muscles, bones, organs, and blood vessels are continuously reconstructed, allowing the user to temporarily endure levels of physical output that would normally destroy their body. The greater the available Mana and Life energy, the longer this state can be sustained.]
[Severed or destroyed limbs can regenerate as long as sufficient Mana and Life energy remain. More severe destruction requires significantly greater energy and recovery time.]
[Divine Preservation automatically activates upon suffering fatal damage, preserving vital functions, sealing catastrophic wounds, suppressing blood loss, stabilizing damaged organs, and prioritizing the restoration of the brain, heart, and other vital areas. Regeneration can continue even after the user loses consciousness.]
[The user can still die if vital areas are completely annihilated, the body is destroyed beyond recovery, or the available Mana and Life energy are exhausted.]
Cain stared at the information for a long moment.
Divine-rank.
His eyes moved through the description again before stopping on the enormous physical bonuses.
Physique +300%.
Strength +100%.
Agility +66%.
"Holy fuck..."
He then checked his stats.
[Stats]: Strength: 143 (+148) / Agility: 159 (+130) / Physique: 87 (+269) / Sense: 76 (+5) / Mana: 260 / Magic: 160
Cain stared at the three physical Stats.
The numbers beside them had changed so drastically that even he needed another look.
His bonus Strength had risen to 148.
Agility now received another 130 points.
But Physique was the most ridiculous of all.
+269.
Cain slowly clenched his fist.
Despite the enormous increase, his body did not feel awkward or difficult to control. The power was simply there, hidden beneath the same outward appearance as before.
A grin gradually appeared on his face.
Even Undying War Body had already changed the way Cain approached dangerous fights. Its evolved form had pushed that advantage into an entirely different realm.
Then he thought about the 2nd Echelon zombie waiting inside the western public park.
The concern he had carried since receiving his Advancement Mission faded considerably.
’Even if I can’t kill that bastard immediately...’
Cain flexed his fingers once before relaxing them.
’I’ll grind it down until I can.’
Cain assumed the 2nd Echelon zombie would be extremely powerful. Whether that assumption was correct or not hardly mattered. When preparing for something that could cost him his life, he would rather expect the worst than walk in unprepared.
Of course, if the creature turned out to be far weaker than he expected, Cain would be more than happy to be proven wrong. He had no desire to risk his life simply because the System kept throwing ridiculous missions at him.
But if the worst happened and the zombie proved too strong to kill during their first confrontation, Cain already knew what he would do.
He would drag the battle out and wear it down little by little.
When it came to a battle of attrition, Cain was confident that he held the advantage. That confidence had only grown after the Undying War Body evolved into the Undying God Body.
As long as the creature failed to kill him outright, he could recover, return, and continue fighting until one of them finally fell.
Cain’s smile widened.
For the first time since receiving that ridiculous Advancement Mission, he felt completely confident about the eventual outcome.
"Cain?"
Evelyne’s voice pulled him from his thoughts.
Cain looked over.
She had been observing him ever since the transformation ended, her expression filled with curiosity.
"What did you get?"
"Something useful."
"That’s all you’re going to tell me?"
Cain only shrugged in response.
Evelyne stared at him before sighing helplessly.
"You’re so annoying."
Cain smiled without answering.
His attention suddenly shifted toward the classroom door.
Several hurried footsteps were approaching from outside the building.
"They noticed."
Evelyne followed his gaze.
Not long afterward, Elara appeared in the corridor with Nathan and Jack close behind her. Ron arrived moments later after apparently following them from the auditorium.
Elara entered first and looked around the classroom.
Her gaze settled on the cracked tiles beneath Cain’s feet before moving toward him.
"What happened?"
"Nothing serious."
Nathan studied Cain for a moment.
"You got stronger again."
"Just a little." Cain replied with a smile.
Ron’s expression immediately darkened.
"Motherfucker."
Cain raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"I leave you alone for a few minutes and somehow you become stronger again."
Jack chuckled quietly.
"Sounds like a skill issue." Cain shrugged.
"Fuck you."
Elara looked at him for another moment before eventually turning toward Evelyne.
Only then did she notice that something about her had changed as well.
Evelyne said with a graceful smile. "My Talent evolved."
Nathan raised an eyebrow.
"Your healing talent?"
"Yeah."
Cain stepped in before the conversation could become another lengthy interrogation.
"She’s much better at it now."
Then he looked toward Nathan and Elara.
"When you head south, prioritize her Leveling."
Evelyne frowned.
"I don’t need special treatment."
"You do if we want to make the best use of your healing."
Cain did not elaborate further.
The more Mana and Magic Evelyne obtained, the more useful she would become whenever the group encountered serious danger.
Nathan immediately understood.
"We’ll handle it."
"Good."
Cain turned toward Ron.
"We’re leaving now."
Ron nodded in response.
Cain then looked toward Jack. "Tell Alex to meet us outside."
"I’ll get him." Jack nodded.
Nathan glanced toward Cain.
"You’re heading east already?"
"Yeah. No point waiting around." Cain walked toward the door as he continued, "Stick to the plan. Take everyone south once they’re ready and keep the smaller groups close enough to support each other."
Nathan nodded.
Cain stopped briefly beside Elara.
"Make sure Evelyne gets enough kills."
"I will."
Cain continued down the corridor with Ron beside him while Jack headed back toward the auditorium to call Alex.
As he walked outside, Cain paid more attention to his movements than usual.
His body felt different enough that even an ordinary step required slight adjustment. The strength he had possessed only minutes earlier could no longer be used as a reference for how much force he needed.
Fortunately, adapting would not take long and Cain knew exactly where he could test himself.
The eastern side of the city was waiting for him, especially the zoo quite far to the east where there were numerous animals.
He was kind of waiting for it because he believed that there should be quite a lot of animals being evolved, since he noticed an evolved dog’s corpse before as its size was bigger than a normal one.
Then his gaze briefly shifted west.
Somewhere beyond the university, inside the public park, the 2nd Echelon zombie was still there.
A smile appeared on his face.
This time, Cain was actually beginning to look forward to meeting it.
By the time Cain and Ron returned to the area outside the auditorium, Alex was already waiting for them.
The massive greatsword rested across his shoulder, its thick blade looking almost ordinary against his broad frame despite how difficult most people would have found it to even carry for long.
