"Flame Burst Step!"

The world blurred as heat exploded beneath his feet.

His body rocketed forward, crossing thirty meters in a fraction of a second as he materialized beside the four-armed goblin just as its jaws unhinged and its mouth opened wide enough to swallow the young woman’s entire head.

The Macro Splicing Saber appeared in his hands as he called it out from the storage ring.

"Squelch!"

Dexter easily drove the blade through the back of the goblin’s skull.

The black steel tore through its skull and its brain before erupting from the creature’s open mouth in a shower of thick, green blood pouring down on the woman’s face, nose and mouth.

The goblin’s body stiffened, and it instantly went limp as it collapsed forward, crashing to the ground inches from the young woman’s body.

As the green blood splattered across the woman’s body, she shrieked even more as though the stain was worse than death!

"AAAAAAHHH!" "AAAAAHHH!"

"Shut up," Dexter growled, his voice cutting through her panic like a blade. "Find a safe place and hide. Now."

The woman’s mouth snapped shut. She opened her eyes through the green gore on her face and saw Dexter standing above her.

She sniffed hard as tears streamed down her face. She quickly scrambled to her feet. "Th-thank you," she stuttered, her body shaking violently. "Thank you, I—"

Dexter immediately ignored her as he activated Flame Burst Step, blasting towards the nearby Goblin.

The notification registered in the back of his mind, but Dexter barely noticed. He was already moving.

He had noticed something different when he activated the bloodline technique.

It was easier to use, and he felt like he could use it way longer than he used to.

Instead of a 500% speed increase for two seconds, he could actually control and sustain the blast of energy beneath his feet to not just be a single violent explosion but a steady stream of explosions.

His body blurred forward as his head blasted behind him, and this time, the bloodline skill didn’t cancel after five seconds.

With his upgraded bloodline, he felt like he could sustain it for nearly a minute before his body began to show strain. And if he pushed himself, he could probably extend it further.

’This is new,’ he thought, a grim smile touching his lips as he rocketed toward his next target.

The second goblin was attacking a man inside his store.

"Graaa!"

The goblin growled as it cornered the store owner behind its own counter, its four arms reaching over the top, clawing at the man who was desperately trying to hold it back with a baseball bat.

Dexter’s eyes locked onto the shopkeeper’s face and he immediately recognized him.

The shopkeeper was the same man who had sold him groceries during his first week at the bungalow.

The same man who had doubled the price of pork just because he heard a rumor on the internet.

Dexter’s gaze turned dark, and he smirked. ’

’Let him suffer a bit.’

Dexter turned away and moved to save someone else.

As he turned around, the goblin smashed the counter, grabbed the man before tossing him across his own store like a rag doll.

"Bang!"

The man crashed into a wall, slid down, and tried to crawl away.

"Help! Help! Somebody help me!!!"

He tried to fight back, but the hiblkn sneered as it smacked him sideways into a rack of canned goods.

Cans exploded in all directions. The trader spat blood as his face bled with blood and pure terror.

At this moment, Dexter appeared before another Goblin.

It was a level 10 Goblin, and it had gripped the neck of a woman tightly, squeezing the life out of her as it watched with relish.

"Whoosh!"

The air shook as the goblin quickly reacted and punched at the space beside it.

"Bang!"

Shockwaves exploded in a circular pattern as the Dexter caught the punch with his palm.

"Whoosh!"

A dark light glinted and blood splattered in the air as Dexter’s blade easily sliced a long blood line through the Monster’s skull.

"Cough! Cough!"

The woman dropped to the ground with a flushed face as she wanted to thank Dexter, but he was long gone.

Dexter’s speed was so fast he appeared behind another Goblin.

"Roooar!"

The goblin was roaring and angry as it clawed at a locked car door.

His Type-3 blade easily cut through its skin without hesitation.

At this moment, the trader’s screams had turned faint as though he had given up.

Dexter sighed.

’Fine.’

He activated Flame Burst Step and closed the distance in an instant.

The Macro Splicing Saber swept upward in a clean, horizontal arc. The goblin’s head separated from its shoulders with surgical precision, the creature’s four arms still reaching for the shopkeeper as its body crumpled to the floor.

Green blood fountained from the severed neck, splattering the shelves of canned goods behind it.

The shopkeeper screamed as he scrambled on the ground. He looked up through the gore and debris, and saw Dexter standing over the goblin’s twitching corpse.

"D-Dexter?" the man stammered, his face pale with shock. "You’re—you’re the—"

Dexter glared at the trader indifferently as he turned to leave.

"W-who’s going to pay for the damages?"

Dexter wanted to turn back and choke the man to death but he inhaled deeply and blurred out of the man’s store.

Flames erupted behind him as it burnt a few nearby items.

"Hey! What the hell!?"

The trader shouted after Dexter.

A few goblins actually carried crude weapons like clubs, sharpened bones or stone spears.

Dexter was like a grinding machine; he easily cut through them like a scythe through wheat.

As he drew nearer to the center of the district, his ears flickered as he heard the sounds of two children crying.

He changed direction immediately, his body cutting through the chaos like a missile as he saw two kids standing in the middle of the road.

They were quite young. The older one was perhaps 9 years old and the younger one, no more than 3 years old.

The 9-year-old had his arms wrapped tightly around his toddler brother, as they crouched in the middle of the wrecked street.

"Mom!" "Mom!"

The sound of their crying carried through the market district. And it immediately attracted attention.

A massive goblin emerged from the smoke as it shot towards them like a missile.
