Chapter 617 - 610: Form
The pores all over Zhou Yuanjue’s body opened, expelling countless minuscule, "captured" Seeds of the Fierce Sun from his cells. This triggered a powerful energy release. Guided by his Divine Soul Power, the energy transformed into a thick pillar of light that surged violently toward Rainbow, who was suspended in mid-air.
To a certain extent, Rainbow’s ability was seemingly unstoppable for any lifeform of a lower realm.
He used his extremely strong Energy Manipulation Power to compress his vast "Yang" Divine Soul into components several times smaller than a cell. The resulting energy fluctuations were nearly nonexistent. It could even jump through True Realm channels and appear suddenly in any corner of the material world.
Without a corresponding ability to stop this energy—in other words, without True Realm Energy of the same realm to counter it—escaping his attack was nearly impossible.
This was the so-called "Monarch Effect."
It takes a soldier to fight a soldier, and a general to fight a general. Only a King can contend with another King.
Only when both sides were equal in status and realm was a true confrontation possible.
But Zhou Yuanjue was different.
Although he hadn’t mastered the corresponding True Realm power and couldn’t truly perceive its existence, he had encountered it multiple times. Furthermore, he had obtained the perfect Atlas from a high-level civilization in Beisha Country. Because of this, he could now instinctively sense the faint danger and trajectory of True Realm power.
Therefore, the moment Rainbow used his ability, his body naturally sensed that profound danger, and the cells throughout his body instantly went on high alert.
In this state, it was as if his body were a nation under extreme martial law, with every citizen a soldier. No matter how covert or minuscule the invading force was, the moment it appeared inside him, it was instantly perceived. And without any command from his conscious will, the various parts of his body would act on their own to counter the opponent with lightning speed.
If Rainbow’s power had been at the absolute peak of the Ancestral Level, Zhou Yuanjue likely couldn’t have suppressed it so easily and instantly. He would have inevitably suffered some damage.
Unfortunately for Rainbow, while his ability had the essential characteristics of the Ancestral Level, his true power was only in the realm of an Ancient True King—not much different from Zhou Yuanjue’s. To think he could suppress Zhou Yuanjue based purely on the nature of his power was nothing but a foolish delusion.
His opponent simply didn’t understand Zhou Yuanjue.
In every respect, the current Zhou Yuanjue was already a King who could meet them, even at their peak, as an equal.
...
...
Meanwhile, within the space at the center of the massive gray fog in the sky, a dozen or so figures watched the clash between the two with perfect clarity.
"Rainbow’s ’Cannon Fodder’ was neutralized that easily?"
"It seems he can sense the trajectory of the Power of Boundaryless?"
"His body seems... special. An ordinary Path of True Self shouldn’t grant this degree of bodily control. Even we would need to be on guard beforehand to counter Rainbow’s Cannon Fodder, or else interrupt its trajectory with an equivalent Power of Boundaryless."
"..."
The revived Ancestral Incarnations were surprised by the abilities Zhou Yuanjue displayed. Rainbow’s strength was beyond doubt—he was on par with Ji in terms of realm. Yet, his opponent had weathered the attack unscathed and without any prior intelligence. This exceeded all their expectations.
They had imagined that in a confrontation with an existence like Rainbow, even if Zhou Yuanjue avoided injury, he should have been in a much more sorry state.
"The first to break through from any given biosphere is always an extremely special existence. I believe you all have now had a taste of that."
"Trying to suppress him with specialized abilities is not a wise choice, in my opinion. Or rather, we should recognize that if we were in the same realm and possessed the same power characteristics, we would likely not be his match."
Ji spoke up from the side.
"You hold him in such high regard?"
The other Ancestral Incarnations said with a frown.
"My assessment might be higher still. To defeat him, to wear him down, the best way is to crush him openly with overwhelming power or numbers."
"Look. That fellow Rainbow has been thoroughly enraged. Perhaps this will force our opponent to reveal some of his true capabilities."
Ji said calmly.
Hearing Ji’s words, everyone’s gaze returned to the gray fog screen.
...
...
BOOM!!
The thick pillar of Scorching Sun light pierced through the gray space. Rainbow gave a light wave of his hand, and the pillar, which contained the terrifying power of a sun, suddenly refracted. It deviated from its original trajectory, missing his body and shooting off in another direction.
As the master of this power, Rainbow naturally couldn’t be harmed by it. However, the mental wound inflicted by Zhou Yuanjue’s action was far more unbearable than any physical injury.
The Primordial Ancestors were cursed beings.
In order to escape their original planet, they sacrificed a vast number of lives and destroyed the natural magnetic field, thus incurring a curse from the planet’s will.
As a result, the nature of their power changed, developing toward "Calamity." Their Spirits and wills also underwent a kind of mutation under the "curse," becoming difficult to control in certain ways.
Wounded by Zhou Yuanjue’s action, an even more savage aura erupted from within Rainbow.
"Very good. Very good. You were able to take my ’Cannon Fodder.’ You are worthy of being my opponent."
Rainbow spoke in a deep voice. As he did, the crown of intense, condensed light on his head shed thousands of brilliant strands, and his body also began to mutate.
Antlers like a deer’s sprouted from his head. His human face began to elongate, and whiskers spread from his cheeks. His palms also mutated, transforming into sharp claws.
Intense Fierce Sun Power continuously gathered on the surface of his body, forming scale-like plates that embedded themselves into his skin and emitted a dazzling light.
In an instant, Rainbow seemed to transform from his human form into the mythical shape of a half-man, half-dragon from legends. Clad in magnificent robes and wearing a crown, he now more closely resembled a Divine Spirit of old.
And the power he now wielded was indeed like that of a Divine Spirit.
Scorching Sun True Form: Celestial Monarch.
"Oh? Now this is a little more interesting. Compressing vast Divine Energy into scale armor... Does this mean you’re choosing a head-on collision for the next part of this fight?"
A faint smile touched Zhou Yuanjue’s lips. He gazed at Rainbow, suspended in the sky—a half-man, half-dragon figure clad in Scorching Sun Scale Armor, wearing a crown, and radiating terrifying energy fluctuations. "A dragon?" he said softly.
The next moment!!
CRACK! CRACK!!
His body also began to undergo a massive transformation.
His height shot up rapidly. His spine seemed to come alive, squirming slightly as it elongated and unified the immense power throughout his form. His body entered the faintly fluorescent state of Star Transformation. His arms extended, hanging low. The life imprints on the surface of his skin squirmed into being, covering his entire body like individual scales.
At this moment, he too seemed to have transformed into a humanoid tyrant dragon.
Four Holy Forms: Cyan Dragon!!
"Let’s see who the True Dragon is."
