Invincible Saint ~Salaryman, the Path I Walk to Survive in This Other World~
104 Earthquakes, demons and a bad feeling
Nothing happened for two days after I went out on the street and the demon never showed up so strong that it was going well.
It was at dusk when I was so cautious.
Gogogogogogogogo
At first I thought it was because of something, but gradually the ground started to shake.
"An earthquake?
Lower yourself and the shake subsided as soon as you balanced... but this earthquake was causing one serious problem.
I was on the fire side, so there was something wrong with the drain that happened to be in my eyes.
"Dolan, are you okay?
Doran, whom I spoke to, had a earthy face and was admitted to sweating heavily.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
That being said, Doran's eyes were vain.
I approached the drain and when I spoke of the recovery, my eyes gradually focused and I felt the confusion had subsided.
"... Could it have been the current earthquake, and you even remembered when you lost your arm?
"... that's what happens to Luciel, the S-class healer... right. Many times I thought I had to even have an earthquake then.
That way you never lost your arm, and you didn't have to blow up the workshop. "
I thought Doran might be a post-traumatic stress disorder.
"Right. But you protected Paula in exchange for that arm, didn't you?
"... bye. That's right. And now I have a good arm..."
Doran was excited, but when he said that and was forced to laugh, he gradually regained his composure by holding and opening his hand.
"Dolan, I don't know how Dolan feels.
But I can hang the healing magic and put it up, and I can talk to you. Sometimes talking makes it easier.
Tell me if you feel anything at all strange. "
"... how lucky I am"
Doran looked at me and laughed.
Paula saw a lot of calm dran and looked relieved.
Fortunately, I shouldn't think so, but Paula's absence of symptoms like post-traumatic stress disorder was salvation.
"Dolan, it's true that in Rockford, earthquakes have been happening frequently for years, hasn't it? Change destination to Meratoni?
I definitely have to go to Rockford... that's not true.
And remember there's a dragon. Actually, I don't really want to go either...
But Doran is not the kind of person who makes weak noises.
"I'm fine. I have a mission to make it, and I want to tell their graves that I could have been a blacksmith again."
There was the usual Doran face there.
"That's good. Well, let's get dinner ready."
"The demons are going to be exorcised before then."
"Nha!? This time from the basement. Demons are like ants."
"Forenoir in"
When I turn the concealer's key, when I order him to enter the stables, he comes right in.
"When the battle is over, I'll get you out again."
That said, the door disappeared when I tightened the lock.
"How many?
"Ni, thirty things like that."
"Ants are vital, and attacks spit out lysate by bites and solids, so avoid them."
Doran's voice echoed after Ketty.
"Don't you have to rest?
"Knock it down exactly and get the demon stones of earthly attributes"
Doran was always back on track.
"That's reliable. If you lose your arm and you don't even lose your life, I'll try to help you. So bust it."
"Ooh."
Doran stood with a hammer.
Next to it was a three-metre golem about to intercept an ant in a fighting pose.
Ant demons were... weak.
"Weak, but not more?
Sometimes I almost forget that the gear I have is cheat performance, but whether it's a spear of a magical dragon or a fantasy sword, I can break the hard back of an ant.
"That's a gradual increase."
"Quite stiff."
"Then I'll decide all at once, Paula."
"Grandpa, okay."
The three-metre golem has become five-metre, stomping and crushing ants on the back of his feet.
That's a totally stomping attack.
Kicking is plain tokick... and they all do that with inspiration? Or maybe the day will come to ask if there is anything.
The battle ended when I thought of that.
"If that thing could be used unlimited, you'd be too strong"
"If you don't know how it works, you don't feel like you can win."
"Sounds good for combat simulations against giants"
I knew Lionel was a combat freak, so Lionel's remarks decided to go through.
"It's dark, so we'll do it tomorrow when it comes to stripping. Just be sure you're dead or don't be alarmed."
I gave it to everyone when I took the light out of the magic bag, and then I purified it while retrieving the carcass in the magic bag.
"There were at least fifty ant demons, but there are so many demons around here?
"There have been more demons since the earthquake activated, but I honestly don't know what's been going on lately"
"... there's no labyrinth near Rockford, is there?
"Oh. There are many mines dotted, but nowhere in the labyrinth"
Can you even think about labyrinth from now on if you suck?
Or......
"Doesn't the mine itself mean it's a labyrinth?
"It shouldn't be a labyrinth because the demon's body will remain."
That's what Doran said.
"We're going camping three shifts today."
That's what I told him, and then I burned the demon-free incense I bought from the Pharmacist Guild.
I just don't know how effective it is outdoors, so I took three shifts.
In conclusion, the demon never attacked me until dawn, but yesterday the ants seemed to have come from underground and saw some fifty centimetre holes.
"It's like a pit. If the carriage wheel fits, you can even think of a carriage fall, right?
"Sure. Considering that there were only so many ant demons, you might want to slow down a little bit from now on."
"It's been going so well, will it?"
I took the carriage out of the magic bag in retrospect of the fact that there was no ant demon in Yenis.
He restarted for Rockford, which would arrive in three or four days.
"Yesterday the ant demon didn't fly or fly the lysate, but that's weak as a demon... you think it's a scourge type?
"I'm not that familiar with demons, but I was wondering if it would be reasonable to think so because demons are homogeneous, but also have strong solids, mutants, and other demons of the upper class"
"Is there a peaceful country somewhere big?"
"If Nerdar, a magically independent city with the headquarters of the Magician's Guild, they sometimes storm Wyburn, Griffon, and monstrous bird-based demons, but it's a mechanism that can't come in all the way inside, so I thought it'd be relatively safe."
"I'm not at all relieved at the point of Wyburn, Griffon, or the monstrous bird-based demons, but are you even putting up some tension in the junction? And why are all the flying demons?
"Nerdar, the magical independent city, is an aerial magic city that floats in the sky, created hundreds of years ago by the brave and wise men of time and spiritual magicians. I have heard that we have made inviolable agreements between nations so that they will never be ruled."
"... I didn't know there was a pioneer... but wait, when I studied, there wasn't a book with any wording on it about an aerial city?
"That would be so. There are a number of constraints regarding Nerdar, and we don't know where he is because he's traveling through the air."
I feel a little tyrannical that it wasn't written because I can't put it on the map...
"...... nice. Airborne Cities"
"I don't really like it because it has nothing to do with combat, but when you put it that way, the Healer Guild and I are friends of the Dog Monkey."
"... why?
"I remember a conflict between believing gods in different ways, etc."
I knew it anyway.
Life isn't that sweet.
"Is it realistic to have demon radar made as soon as possible"
"I'll try to protect you when the demon arrives, so you don't have to rub your mind that far."
"... I expect and would appreciate it"
It was time we were having such a conversation.
When I thought the carriage horse started to get excited, there was another earthquake.
"Come... good, great, Forenoir"
Forenoir did not make it slight when the earthquake struck.
Lionel was calm because Lionel had tight control of the horse.
The earthquake would stop after thirty seconds, but I decided it was a bad idea to let the excited horse tow the carriage as it was, and I decided to let him enter the stables of the hidden and relax.
"Sounds better than yesterday...... Recover"
"Helpful. I wasn't too confused this time because I had confirmed many times that I had hands, but still my body trembled"
"You don't have a choice."
Doran was pale, but not as good as yesterday, and his eyes were well focused.
When I applied the cover, it looked reassuring somewhere.
If Doran's tough spirit would have gotten over it, that's what I would have expected.
Ketty's voice echoed there.
"Another demon will come with us yesterday."
Don't push it.
"I want to see Paula's delightful face in the stone."
After all, Doran was Doran.
The same ant demon as yesterday suddenly appeared to boil out of the hole.
When the area barrier is hung, it runs toward the ants simultaneously.
"Groy when you see him firmly"
The demons of the pushing ants come close like a crowd, but they can be defeated with just one blow, so if they're not surrounded, I can handle it.
Lionel was blowing away, wielding a fiery sword, beating and burning the ants with great momentum.
Thanks to this, there was no collaboration, nothing to be alarmed about, but there was no feeling of struggle.
As I kept knocking him down, I saw an ant with wings coming out of the hole, but there the blade of the wind flew away and cut off the wings.
I guess Lician used spiritual magic.
"Yesterday, I couldn't help you, so I'll let you work this time"
That's what he told me when he met me, and he attacked another ant demon trying to fly again with a blade of wind.
The battle didn't take that long, but the number of demons was higher than yesterday, and I was concerned that its top came out.
"Is an earthquake a precursor to demons?
"... maybe it's easy to think about that."
"Is Rockford okay?
"Earthquakes were frequent, but there were no demons in the city, including underground."
"That would be nice."
All I did was pray that nothing would happen in Rockford while I retrieved Ant's body.
We arrived in Rockford four days later at noon, a city where artisans and technicians gathered in spite of several raids on the ants' demons.
