After helping him up, Xue Feng transferred a bit of Energy into his body to stabilize him. He listened to the man’s thanks and nodded without expression. "Family Head Zheng, if this matter weren’t still under investigation, I wouldn’t have bothered with you. Furthermore, our progress has been severely hampered because of you. I trust you are aware of that."

Xue Feng’s emotionless words instantly stifled Zheng Ming’s feelings of gratitude. Still, Xue Feng had saved him regardless, so Zheng Ming maintained his deeply moved expression.

The next second, Old Cui’s figure blurred. An earth-yellow Longsword appeared in his hand, and he charged mercilessly toward Xue Feng.

Seeing this, Xue Feng’s brow furrowed. He also drew a Longsword to meet the attack.

The two swords clashed violently with a deafening roar. Two powerful streams of Energy erupted outward, kicking up a fierce wind that instantly toppled the surrounding trees.

With a cold snort, Old Cui swept his Longsword fiercely, enveloping Xue Feng in a sky full of sword shadows. Sword gleams flickered and Sword Qi crisscrossed the area, illuminating the entire sky as brightly as day. Countless motes of light shimmered like a thousand golden dragons in flight—a truly terrifying sight.

Not to be outdone, Xue Feng flicked his own Longsword. Countless sharp Ice Blades instantly condensed from the cold air and slashed toward the sword gleams. However, it was unclear if Xue Feng was holding back or if his Energy was simply too depleted. These Ice Blades were completely unable to withstand the assault of Old Cui’s Sword Qi.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The Ice Blades shattered one after another, sending fragments flying in all directions and obliterating the nearby trees. Yet, Old Cui’s assault of sword gleams continued relentlessly.

A savage look appeared on Old Cui’s face, his eyes filled with killing intent. He put his full strength into every move, intending to kill Xue Feng in one fell swoop.

Seeing this, a look of resolve flashed in Xue Feng’s eyes. He desperately pushed all the Energy in his body, channeling powerful surges into his Longsword. Then, with an upward flick of his blade, an incomparably sharp Sword Qi swept out.

Old Cui’s Sword Qi and Xue Feng’s Sword Qi collided, setting off an endless series of explosions. The entire sky seemed to tremble as a terrifying shockwave of Energy rolled out in all directions.

A trickle of blood appeared at the corner of Old Cui’s mouth, and he was knocked back several steps by the terrifying force.
