Wang Qin had no good attitude towards Ye Fan at all. In her view, Zhao Lina was a very sacred woman, holding a high status in her eyes.

Ye Fan smiled and said, "It seems your subordinate still cares about you!"

The sound of Zhao Lina and Ye Fan’s conversation had been completely blocked by Ye Fan. Wang Qin lay against the door listening for a while, still couldn’t hear any movement. She continued to knock and said, "Director Zhao, are you still in there? If you don’t open the door soon, I’ll come in..."

Wang Qin thought to herself, "Why am I arguing with someone like him? Even Director Zhao doesn’t engage with him. I trust that with her skills, Director Zhao wouldn’t be bullied... Forget it, I better go in first."
"Director Zhao, then I’ll go in to rest. It’s getting late. Once I see some things, I’ll sleep. You... continue?" Wang Qin tested the question.
She wanted to know the relationship between Zhao Lina and Ye Fan, as Zhao Lina had never had any scandals. "Playing ignorant!" Zhao Lina said, "Isn’t such a little girl exactly what you like? You’re no longer with the department, at most you’re on a temporary assignment. I really can’t see why you even need to come back..."
Ye Fan shrugged and said, "I’m just doing some things I’ve wanted to do but never had the chance."
"Why are you still following me?" Zhao Lina asked angrily, "Go back to your Zhao Jun, to your Xiao Man, all those women out there. Having one more or one less of me won’t make a difference for you. Why keep pestering me? What’s the point?"
Ye Fan shrugged and said, "You know I care about you a lot, and won’t leave because of a word or two from you!"
"You’re making me speechless, do you know that, Ye Fan? Actually, there’s really nothing between us that needs to exist. Maybe you truly believe it’s important for men and women to be together, but aren’t you supposed to save people from the catastrophe? Aren’t you supposed to help humanity overcome difficulties? Why keep pestering me? Am I that easy to pester? Or do you really care about me?" Zhao Lina asked angrily.
Ye Fan found that getting the women around him to accept the fact that he had many women was indeed not easy.
With a woman as independent as Zhao Lina, it was honestly tough to explain anything to her, Ye Fan said, "Are you willing to risk your own safety just to prove a point in your heart?"
"I don’t want any special treatment, I’m just a human. Since humans face difficulties, I won’t break away from humanity. If Earth is destroyed, then I think I should also perish with the Earth. I don’t need your particular care!" Zhao Lina said.
Ye Fan said with a bitter smile, "Your thinking is so different from the mindset of living beings, even ants still seek life..."
"You’re saying I don’t love my own life, is that it? I do love it, but I don’t want to be pestered by you, Ye Fan. Just leave, I want to be alone for a while!" After saying that, Zhao Lina turned around, seemingly not wanting to have any more exchanges with Ye Fan.
She expected Ye Fan to continue pestering her; she was still quite angry inside. After a while, she noticed there was still no sound behind her.
She turned around and found there was no one behind her anymore, Ye Fan had disappeared into the night.
"What are you doing? Hiding, wanting to see if I care about you? Then say some soft words to you? How old are you? You’d better not play this kind of children’s trick!" Zhao Lina said.
Even though she said that, there was no response from Ye Fan.
After a long time, she still felt no presence of Ye Fan, only then did she realize Ye Fan had really left.
