Master Mingye was dead set on getting Ye Fan’s help, but Ye Fan simply had no time to spare for her.

It wasn’t that Ye Fan was being irresponsible or anything; he just felt this was a waste of time. "I said I won’t help you, and I won’t go back on that. Unless it’s after the heavenly tribulation—if you’re willing to rule whatever Immortal Realm at that time, then I can lend you a hand. You make your own choice!" Ye Fan said.

If the heavenly tribulation had already happened, and Pan Gu and Fu Xi’s troubles had been completely resolved, Ye Fan felt he could swing by to help Master Mingye a bit. "So you finally understand whether Ye Fan truly cares about you? And you still want to help him?" The person in the shadows spoke in a mechanical tone; Master Mingye had no way to tell who this person was.

Master Mingye said, "You bestowed power upon me, so by rights I should support you, listen to your advice, and do what you’ve chosen for me. But I’m not going to do that now. Because, as I see it, I’ve made many mistakes. Ye Fan may be stubborn in some matters, but his heart is kind. He said he could help me after the heavenly tribulation—don’t you think that’s a sort of grace he’s granting me?"

"Hahaha... you’re courting death! You clearly know Ye Fan will never help you, and your potential in cultivation could even reach the point of threatening his life. You think, after the heavenly tribulation, he’ll let you live? You’re imagining him far too noble! Master Mingye shook her head and said, "Ye Fan already knows who the chosen one is. I can’t be that person. You’re using me."

"Foolish. If you stay so stubborn, I won’t help you!" That cold voice came out again.
