Iron Blood Earl Riccianne

Chapter 9. Desertion (2)

I felt sleepless. If we move our troops around, we'll have them all beheaded. Despite what they said, they must have done it eventually.

“Seize them! Seize them all! ”

Earl Holtz screams and runs out of the tent. Behind him, Baron Buren shouts.

“You've already gone into the mountains! ”

“What! Suck! ”

Earl Holtz leaps out of the tent, frozen like a statue on the spot.

Earl Frost's estate and Earl Gronst's estate were empty.

After the first battle, the Bren Kingdom troops were leaving their original Southern Garrison of the Defense Forces and making their way to Namhae. And where it is now situated was Gressen Acid.

Here in the mountains of Acronia, there has been a long and small conflict between the Kingdom of Bren and the Kingdom of Luo, and there has been a great war, often referred to as an arterial war. Because of this, there were many types of military facilities throughout the Acronian Mountains, including Gresen Mountain.

Of course, acidity was not a properly fortified fortification. A brick wall that comes roughly around the waist of a normal man, taking rocks and stones from place to place. The carpentry that barely repaired the rotting was all. Moreover, if you attack from the north, you will have no defensive capabilities at all.

It was used to temporarily garrison troops while preventing attacks from the south.

In that castle, Earl Prokers and Earl Gronst made camp on the slowest wooden ledge in the southeast and guarded it.

Now, the scaffolding had already fallen and I could not see the two Earls. The rest of the soldiers are just running around busy.

Earl Holtz asks in a hurry.

“Where have you gone? ”

“First, we had fast footed soldiers chasing us. And two regiments and a Knight! ”

Earl Holtz again turns toward the tent, terrified of the end of his report. Then the three of them hurriedly ran this way.

He was the commander of the 1st and 2nd Confederate regiments and commander of the 1st Confederate knights.

Earl Downs, commander of the First Regiment, said in a loud voice.

“The 1st, 2nd and 1st regiments are ready. Give me an order... ”

“You're such an idiot! What kind of orders do you need right now? Go get them now. If you miss one of them, you'll be strangled! ”

Earl Downs, startled by the furious wrath of Earl Holtz, rushes toward the collapsed wooden ledge. It was after that that that another comrade, Earl Keberron, and Earl Poneltz, Knights Captain, shouted to each other.

“Let's go! ”

Seeing the three of them running behind the 1st, 2nd, and 1st Knights, Earl Holtz suddenly changed his teeth.

He had clearly warned. I told them that if they left the encampment in violation of their orders, they would all be executed, regardless of their status.

However, Earl Frost and Earl Gronst have left the encampment as if they were very visible. Not just some troops, but all of them.

This was also a matter of military deception, but more important to Earl Holtz was his dignity and his crumpled ego. Despite what you have said so far, it is a clear disregard for Earl Holtz.

I can't believe you ignored a Confederate commander on the subject of the Knight Captain in one territory. It was a pity to tear the limbs apart.

“How dare you ignore me? ”

In a trembling voice, the Marquis of Holtz rushes toward the tent, as if he had nothing more to think about. Suddenly, he looks back and yells at Birren.

“You fool! What are you standing there for!? ”

“Yes?”

“Do you think you'll only be in two regiments? Wake every last one of them! We're going after them now! ”

The eyes of Earl Holtz twinkle with life.

“Oh, I see! ”

While Biren is running in a hurry, Earl Holtz enters his tent and picks up his weapons in an instant, without being served by an acolyte.

The commander himself says he's not confident enough about the battle, and soon after he died, he picked up a longsword he hadn't held in his hands for a long time. It didn't seem like this painting would fade unless it struck the throat.

I could tell by the look of him how furious he was now.

Outside, there were two Confederates, 20,000 soldiers, all armed and waiting.

The Confederate forces had 10,000 troops uniting other territorial forces, but they were still dominant. It was unlike the elite Southern military, preparing for war for a long time.

And the southern defense forces, 10,000, are already fully armed, just a few miles away. I'm not following Earl Holtz's orders, I'm preparing for a reflexive battle when something sudden happens.

Earl Holtz calls out to the two squadron leaders under his command, as if nothing more could be thought of.

“You will know the situation without having to explain it. We got 'em. Let's move! ”

They knew that if they went out together, they would slow down their movements, so they wanted to leave them behind.

Then a few people rush over here.

“Damn it!”

The shifting gaze of Earl Holtz mutters in a reflexive manner. It was because the Lord Commander, Marquis Robyn, was on his way here with his deputies and his acolytes.

“What's going on?! ”

He was completely unaware of the desertion of the two Earl's forces, whether the report had yet been received by the late Rovanese.

“Earl Frost and the Earl Gronst have broken free of their encampments! ”

“What, what? ”

The look on the Marquis of Robyn's face changes sharply.

“This is all because of how you treated them, Robyn! ”

“I don't think they will.... ”

“What's not to like? Is that what you hear when you look at the results? ”

Earl Holtz was really angry for some reason, but the unauthorized departure from the garrison was nothing serious after all.

The reason for their desertion is to rescue the fallen lords. I understand emotionally, but it was now an exhibition. Even with an emotional understanding, it doesn't change the fact that they have broken serious rules. With that kind of sin, he is beheaded without further ado.

‘Why on earth did you do that.... ’

The horror of the Holtz speaks bitterly towards the Lobein Marquis, whom he thought alone.

“I'm in charge of their disposal, after all, so don't even think about getting involved in this later! ”

“So now you want to lead your troops after them? ”

“Then you want me to just leave it alone? ”

“Moving an army this size to pursue a deserter in the face of an enemy……. ”

“Shut up! I'm responsible for them and the Confederates. So you have no say in moving those troops! ”

As soon as the words of Earl Holtz are finished, the late Robyn exclaims with a resolute expression.

“The Confederates must not leave their encampment until I give the order! ”

He didn't back off this time, either. No, I couldn't back off. Earl Holtz's behavior was also a disregard for command.

“Huh! What did you just say? ”

A smile erupts from the mouth of Earl Holtz. It is not a disadvantage. It was a vanity with the meaning of 'how dare you'. And the heart of the Earl of Holtz was so blatant that anyone could hear it.

However, the Marquis of Robyn is not shaken. He still spoke calmly in his voice.

“I told you not to leave the encampment. This is an order as a general commander, and violating this would be a violation of His Majesty's will. If the garrison leaves without permission, it will be considered treason. ”

Marquis Holtz does not seem surprised at all. Rather, he provoked the Marquis of Robyn.

“Is it beheading after you've considered treason? They think they can handle 20,000 Confederates with only 10,000 Confederates. Hehe, I need to know one of those stupid confidences. ”

The eyes of the Marquis of Robyn are on each of the commanders, including the commanders of the Confederate Forces, behind Marquis Holtz. And they turned their eyes to avoid the eyes of the Marquis of Robyn. It was not the Earl Robain, the general, but something about following the Earl of the Confederate Commander Holtz.

An organization called the Army is not a group that judges and moves right and wrong. It is only moved by orders. And the most influential of those orders was the direct supervisor's.

The commanders had to do what their line manager, Earl Holtz, wanted, and the commanders below had to do what their line manager wanted.

Earl Holtz asks with a smile on his face.

“Now, what are you going to do? Will you take us all in and behead us? ”

I don't hide any emotions that underestimate the commonly held Lovanese Marquis.

The Marquis of Robyn still looks the same. And he spoke in a consistent, endless voice.

“I won't stop you from leaving. But I don't want you to think about coming back. Our arrows will be with you the next time you see us. ”

“Hehehe, if you can try it. ”

Earl Holtz shouts at the men behind him.

“What are you doing?! Let's go!”

I couldn't spend any more time with the Marquis of Robyn. Earl Frost and the Earl Gronst who ignored his words were more urgent than ever.

It reminds me of the complex smile of a cold life on the face of the late Robyn who was aiming for the Confederates who were leaving the castle like a tide.
