Isaac

Newport City (1)

Isaac arrives at his destination, smoking a cigarette and lighting a fire.

At the center of the extended Grand Canal lies New Port City, with clean streets and buildings to the east, and lots of warehouses and loading lots to the west.

Isaac glances at the large tunnel behind his back, like a rare dragon, and mutters.

“This place is bullshit. ”

With Isaac in mind, Newport was a hell of a place. Located on the border between the central and southern Minolen Mountains, Port City and Newport City, situated on a small plain between a lake named Levernen and the mountain ranges, demonstrate the ugliness of human greed.

As a center of logistics and distribution, Lake Levernen has a stream of water that runs through the south, and flows from the east and west to the heart of the continent. Supplies from the west, east and south gather and scatter.

When Port City was the only place here, a madman called for access to the middle and north, claiming to pierce the waterway into the shielded Minolen Mountains, and one or two who responded to the speech began to appear. Specific plans were put in place, and funds and personnel gathered.

Dozens of noble families and merchants went bankrupt during the construction period consisting solely of private resources without the support of the Imperial Government. After 50 years of construction, 10 years ago, human greed finally overcame nature. Connecting to the center, Port City boasted that it was the heart of the elite empire and the second city of the empire, but it was a matter of aftermath.

After almost 50 years of construction, it is natural for workers who came to work to settle down.

Laborers who could not afford to live in Port City, comprised of fertile land and lush landscapes, occupied countless tributaries of Lake Levernen stretching like roots, and numerous small hills, hardly called geysers, swamps, and gardens, to the west.

It was the worst place to live, but one or two people who were gathering for work began to live.

The problem was the remaining labor after completing the construction. Some were about to leave their homeland, where they had already begun to take their place. There was an oversupply situation where the workers who were mobilized to the construction remained seated, penetrated the path to the central office, and even the new recruits were looking for jobs, which resulted in the fall of the wage only to be fed to the landlord and the top.

Fort City called for independence at all, and it was soon accepted as a town of more than 100,000 people, leaving Port City with signs of rioting in people's furious exploitation of hard labor.

The property of Newport City is entirely owned by the people of Port City, so even the fabulous amount of money paid by workers eventually flows into Port City. When the city got excited about the abundance of wealth, New Port City became increasingly slum.

Newport City's aspiring mayors initially fled with a headache due to the city's poor circumstances and budget problems, and the city has been vacant for several years.

Increased poverty, lack of security, and poor administration provided a very suitable environment for criminal organizations to work in, while rough seafarers, harbor workers, restaurants, bars, and brothels were great sources of funding.

The absence of security brought about an increase in violent incidents such as murder, robbery and rape, and it was no exaggeration to say that the city of Newport was transformed into a huge slum after the vicious cycle that filled the slums and families once more.

“This is definitely the place to get knifed. Well, that's a good choice. ”

Isaac nods and rubs his feet against the tobacco butts. Walking towards Newport City Hall, I recalled the documents on the current situation in Newport City that Magellan met in Gavelin after graduation.

It really is a cradle of corruption and crime. It was organized crime that took over the city without a mayor or an administrative officer. Five criminal organizations that could actually rule Newport City among large and small organizations. Four of these organizations were tied up with four enforcers in the real life of Port City, while the other one was a security guard in Newport City.

I don't know why the criminal organization isn't detaining Isaac, but Magellan smiled bitterly and said to Isaac that the situation is no longer deteriorating due to the fact that the security forces are taking care of it.

But Isaac smiled as if Magellan's eyes were funny, and I was able to hang my wealth and hands.

According to the traditional administrative classification of the Empire, the city is divided into five districts. Four-criminal organizations adhere to the region and were feeding on the backs of the slums, while security guards were located in the theta district, the center of the city, divided into: Alta to the east, Beta to the west, Zeta to the north and Meta District to the south.

In fact, it was the center of the city, but without any plan, it started out as a shantytown. Everything was a mess, but the place where the city hall was located was attempted to refurbish.

Isaac arrives in the Seta district and stands there staring at the city hall, a small two-story box. There was nothing wrong with it.

“I thought it was a mess, but you're okay. But you still haven't bothered to say it belongs to the Empire? ”

Come closer and open a thick iron door ‘Yuck!’ With the annoying noise, the door opened and I sighed.

“Only the outside was fine. ”

The interior was lung level. There were no clean pickings, a table with broken legs, trash piled around the window, and spider webs spread like nets...... not even a thumb to go in.

Isaac turns away shrugging his shoulders as he looks at Zigsy Barra, wanting to clean up the mess inside.

“I need to call someone. ”

The good thing about having money is that the annoying thing is to leave it to someone else and just pay the price. This place is also a slum. Even if I gave him a loaf of bread, there were a lot of people who could work hard.

After coming back out, Isaac, sitting on the ledge of the stairs, took off his bag and searched inside Juju Island. When he got bored, he took out the bread and drink he had bought to eat, and looked around.

The town hall was located in the center of the Amphitheatre.

On the left side of the radially extending road, the guard standing in front of the guards' headquarters, is a more lavish and clean building than the town hall. The bastard enters and leaves the building with no one, and sits and stares at Isaac with the expression of wanting to eat something.

“What a great location. ”

Most of the buildings on either side of the road were windows. It was foaming at the mouth of a knowledgeable group of men who knew there was a guardhouse in the middle of the windows where men were about to resolve their needs.

I looked around the quiet street because it was still day. At least the clean place is near the guards' headquarters, but other places are piled up with garbage, and there are drunks or dead bodies lying around every corner of the building.

From walking around staring at the street with empty eyes to peeling off the garbage piles of fallen people's clothing, I was literally a favela. At least this is where the survivors in Newport City would be.

“Hmm?"

Isaac stares blankly at the street and turns his head to the popularity he feels next to him.
