Twenty-ninth of the Green Moon ① - Study Group in Castle Town
6 It is the twenty-ninth day of the green month, the day after the harvest festival of the clan joint.
That day, we were supposed to attend a study group on new ingredients in Castle Town.
The day after the harvest festival was a much rushed day, but it was the only day convenient on the side of the woods and on the side of the castle town.
And it has been decided that the feast of rapprochement inviting the people of the town will also be held on the first day of the Blue Moon, two days after this day. This was also the result of a compromise between an invitee, a member of Silver Star Hall, and our convenience in doing business on the street.
If you ask me, the business day of this quarter's stall begins on the day Tia is discovered by the woods and ends on the feast of rapprochement after a harvest festival and study group. It was such a glaring schedule.
Within that period, the partitioning stalls of Fa's house are closed only on the day of the harvest festival. Also, the day after the harvest festival - that is, today - I was only able to prepare 30% less dishes than usual because I couldn't get a look at them the day before. The hole was filled by the Lew family stalls.
Now the day of the feast of rapprochement and so on, on the contrary, only the Lew family will take a break from the commerce of the stalls, and the stalls of the house of Fa will follow them. If either is inconvenient, that's what the other is going to do to make it up to. We wanted to live up to that expectation as much as we could because so many people would be disappointed to see more holidays.
Either way, this is the study group that takes place in such a rushed environment, but I don't see the colour of exhaustion on the faces of the Kamadoku people. Because all the women by the woods have a lifetime strength, their expectations for unknown ingredients exceeded, rather they appeared to be better than usual.
After finishing the stall business, roughly half of the members join the hunters as escorts and take the path to the castle town. The blush was identical to the last time I had a study group on Black Fuwano, with seven people: me, Raina-Lu, Sheila-Lu, Limi-Luu, Tour-din, Yun-Sudra, and Mim.
Besides, the six families had a rest period starting today, so they could not worry about asking for it with regard to the escort. The blushes are four: Ai-Fa, Chim-Sudra, the eldest brother of the Din main house, and the eldest brother of the Lid main house.
Din and Lid's hunters were to be chosen at the request of the blood-class Graph-Zaza. The same blood family, Tour-Din, was to participate, and word was delivered that they wanted Din and Lid's people to accompany them in order to broaden their visibility.
After all, having been baptized by Western God, I guess there was something about Graf-Zaza that I also thought was different. The two young hunters, who received this job as representatives of the bloodline, had a very proud face.
"Nevertheless, I don't know if I'll be invited back to Castle Town in just ten days from the day I got that baptism thing. I didn't really think about this kind of opportunity coming to me."
Lid's eldest brother laughed "not at all," Din's eldest brother said.
Din's eldest brother is a young man with a smooth physique who seems to make a good face, and Lid's oldest brother is a big, luxurious young man of his father's father-in-law. Neither of them remembered to speak intimately, but I knew exactly what it looked like after two harvest festivals.
"Whatever it is, it's our job to protect our numbers. I hear now that the nobles of Genos will never come up with evil, but never be alarmed, so I hope you will do your job with confidence."
Din's eldest brother's gaze, which he describes as such, was directed at Tour-Din. Tour-Din responds to it with a soft smile.
Because Tour-Din was a family member in the main house, he lived in the same house as him. And even from the point of view of the edge of blood, Tul-din was the son of the sister of the head of the Din family, so the two names become a pattern between cousins. The story is that Tour-Din never had a chance to show his face until he left the Sung family and was welcomed into the Din family, but from between the two I felt a very unraveling atmosphere.
The Totos car in Castle Town is large, so all eleven people are in the same car. Lid's eldest brother, who was observing the castle town township through a small window, turned to Ai-Fa as he thought he would.
"By the way, it's Ai-Fa. For today, I'd like you to take charge of the escort's partition, but would that be all right?
Me and Rimi-Lou sat down, Ai-Fa looking back at Lid's eldest brother with a pungent face.
"I don't mind sticking around, is that all right? If it were you, would you be the chieftaincy's family?
"But we hardly know anything about castle flushing. I think you deserve a partitioner when you visit Castle Town every now and again."
"Right. Well, it's not like I have a big job as a partitioner, and if that's the case, let's take it."
They had shown respect and fraternity, both to Ai-Fa and to Chim-Sudra. I don't put it in my mouth, but I may be heartily impressed by both names who have won the title of brave man twice in a row.
And Limi-Luu watches over such an Ey-Fa interaction with a much happier face. I'm sure it doesn't make me happy that Ai-Fa has the right ties to the people in his neighborhood.
I 'm-Fa said, "What are you laughing at?" When asked, Rimi-Lou said, "Be-tzu!," he laughed and embraced Ai-Fa's arm.
While doing so, the Totos car stopped.
Familiar every time, it is the guest house of the former Count Turan residence.
Even in study groups, we must first clean ourselves up in the bathroom. Not if you don't step into the cook, but because of the opportunity, all the hunters of the escort were also to experience it.
When I took off a set of clothes and stepped into the bathroom filled with white steam, both Din and Lid's names were entertaining.
Compared to that, Chim-Sudra is a calmer one. He had already experienced this mastery at his last dinner party, and I guess he has the original temper. Speaking of which, Chim-Sudra was supposed to be the youngest of these four, but he had a deposition he didn't seem to have.
That's how the women waited to clean themselves up, too, and then as they tried to cook, Polearth appeared.
"Hey, hey, I've been waiting for you. Looks like some of you will be the first to see it. I have been assigned an assistant mediator with the people of the woods, Polearth of Count Dareim."
When Polearth, who brought two martial arts officers, greeted him casually as usual, Din and Lid's hunters regained their serious look and gave him a name.
"Din and Lid are the families of Zaza, the chieftaincy muscle, right? I always take care of the chief, Lord Graf-Zaza."
"It's the same here that I take care of. I've always wanted to thank you."
"Courtesy of what?
"When Asta was once exposed to nobility, was it you who added strength? I am truly grateful for saving my compatriot Asta."
When Din's eldest brother mentioned it that way, Polearth smiled fuzzily as if something was illuminating.
"That was almost a year ago, wasn't it? I'm glad to have the right bond with the people of the woods.... Well, let's head to the cook."
It is, of course, the bigger chef who was led by Polearths.
There were more cooks there than last time, roughly twenty or so waiting.
Varcus and the three disciples, as well as Roy, an irregular assistant, and Jan and Timaro, are also in full swing. Several people who first saw the people by the woods were still facing a lot of tension.
In the meantime, the hunters of Ai-Fa and Din enter the kitchen, while the hunters of Chim-Sudra and Lid wait outside the door. That instruction had been given by Ey-Fa, who had been entrusted with the partition.
"Thank you for waiting. I'm very happy to have so many cooks gathered today. I want Genos to devise an effective use of new ingredients so that we can have more prosperity than ever before"
Polearth is the partitioner of this occasion because he is a mediator with the people of the woods, as well as an aide to the diplomat. The fact that Genos would also be more moisturized if commerce with the marginal lands were activated meant that this task was laid down in the jurisdiction of the Foreign Secretary.
"The main focus this time is on the ingredients from Wang Du and Baldo delivered the other day, the oil of the fruit of Hoboi that we are buying from Jagal, and the ingredient called Chaska that we are buying from Sim. Regarding them, I would like to ask for an explanation from both Lord Varcus and Lord Timaro"
Again, both of those names serve as guides for any ingredient. I was the head chef and deputy chef of the Count Turan family, which once had a monopoly on ingredients, so I was just wondering if that would compare.
So, as always, Vulcus has a face that he doesn't seem to like, and Timaro has a very clear face. Varcus is a cook who has a really troublesome policy of not wanting cooks who don't approve to handle rare ingredients.
"The ingredients delivered from Wang Du are mostly dry. But they are very effective in giving depth to the flavor, and there are many different uses for one ingredient."
Without looking at the silent Vulcus, Timaro spoke with emotion.
Last time, the ingredients delivered from Wang Du didn't have that much stock either, so they were rarely even eliminated at the study group. It's just that I revealed how to take stock from fish and seagrass dried to make "Black Fuwano Soba".
Today, other dried marine organisms similar to crustaceans and shellfish and octopus were also carefully prepared.
The auditors of Wangdu bring these ingredients to us at the end of every audit. Instead, they were talking about bringing home tons of fuwano and mammalian liquor.
"These can be used as ingredients if returned with water, and just simmering won't take stock that has a really unique flavor. It is also very compatible with you because these are all ingredients that come from the outer sea. On the other hand, the ingredients we originally deal with often collide in flavor, but it's the cook's arm that uses them."
Timaro, who describes it as such, has a truly auspicious look. I guess Timaro is very fond of showing off his skills and guiding people. I can't even feel any sign of sparing the knowledge that we're all supposed to be commercial enemies on this occasion if you ask me.
(Speaking of which, when you first left the cook with me, you said you wouldn't use any ingredients I couldn't use. If you're competing for arms, maybe the idea is that it doesn't make sense unless you're on the same terms as the other person)
It seemed to me that Timaro was a very confident man and at the same time a holder of a fair and clean mindset.
In addition, these properties of Timaro have also been demonstrated in the last study group. Polearth was listening to Timaro's long and wide tongue with great satisfaction.
"Lord Asta was talking about using all these fish and seagrass dries, but didn't he interest you about the other ingredients?
And suddenly Timaro points the water at me, and I "er" sort my head out.
"It's not like I wasn't interested. However, as Timaro said, you think these ingredients are powerful enough to put up a leading role in cooking, don't you? Then, by the woods, I have a strong instinct to play the lead role in Gibba's meat... so I figured the flavor would bump a bit."
"Hmm. At the dinner party the other day, you were using that giva meat and Mallory dried food at the same time. It impressed me that it was a brilliant dish... but isn't it so easy to finish it even with the servant Lord Asta?"
What Timaro is saying is, "Giva and Mallory's Okonomiyaki," which he gave to the auditor.
Although that was easy to come up with because there was an original name for a mix of pork shrimp, it seemed quite challenging to reconcile ingredients similar to seafood and octopus with giva meat.
In addition, there is the notion that it is evil to dispose of ingredients that have taken stock by the forest. In doing so, I was also driven by the thought of whether it was necessary to bring any more animal proteins to the woodland.
"... So it's not hard to handle these ingredients without using Giva meat, either?
Even Varcus, who has stood silently all along, calls me that way.
"Right. Instead, I think it would be easier for me to use it uniformly with seafood ingredients. For example, seafood curry sounds delicious."
Varcus rocked his body as he remembered even when he stood up.
"Do you want me to use these ingredients for that dish? I just imagined it, and I was about to be crushed by expectations"
"Yeah, no, well, I don't even have plans for that at the moment."
Aside from my personal preferences, the people of the woods are indifferent to cooking without giva meat. Then it didn't seem worth taking the time to do the research.
Varcus breathes, "Really?" very unfortunately.
With that sidelined, Timaro started talking again with his gains.
"In the meantime, we'll have to ask you to bring it back on your own when it comes to dried food and make sure it tastes good. It is a very expensive ingredient, but I can assure you that it has the power it deserves."
Timaro thus began to eloquently explain how to return those dried foods with water and how to take the delicious stock. Even today, the writer has written down the procedure.
Once the work has been completed, the next ingredient is the ingredient that Black Wind Cut Feather brought from a town called Bardo.
"So far, here will be ingredients loose in numbers. Tinfa, Remirom, Bre's fruit, and Aneira."
Like Varcas, Timaro seemed to have dealt with those ingredients before. Also, for me, it is an ingredient that is currently under study.
Tinfa is a cabbage, Remirom is a broccoli, Bre's is actually a bean, and Aneira is an ingredient similar to Tobiuo's dried food.
Timaro talks about its use in a way he seems to be good at again. It was Timaro's view that Tinfa and Remirom were good ingredients to boil and fry, and that the fruit of the bre was best boiled and used in the same way as the fruit of the tau.
"Has Lord Asta already received these ingredients? Could any effective use have been devised?
"Ah, yes. Tinfa doesn't have a crush, so I think she can handle it just like Tino or something. Remirom smells a little blue through the fire… As far as I'm concerned, it's better to combine dairy products such as caron milk and gamma cheese, or sour ingredients such as tarrapa and mammalian vinegar"
In terms of acidity, it was an associative statement from dressing and mayonnaise and ketchup.
Timaro nods "I see".
"You seem to understand the characteristics of the flavor well, too, Remirom. When baking Remirom, I mostly use milk fat."
"Oh, milk fat is good too, right? I love it, too."
And I accidentally ran my mouth off, but that was a statement made in association with the broccoli fried in butter.
Timaro glances "Really?" looking a little vain.
"I didn't think I would get the endorsement of Lord Asta. We cook under a very distant fashion."
"Right. But I think there's a part of it that goes by where it's important."
Timaro had trouble choosing his expression and was smiling.
"... So how about the brae fruit? Although this still seems to be the only way to simmer, as stir-frying is hard to get rid of."
"Right. And I want to mix the sugar and make it into sweets."
"Is it confectionery! It's also... quite a novel use."
However, Baldo's ingredients are still not so loose in number that we only receive the portion to try. I just wanted to teach Tour-Din and Limi-Lu how to make it when I was able to trade enough numbers any day.
The rest is the dried Aneira, but since this is the same content as the ingredients of the King's capital, I have nothing to add in particular.
Varcus doesn't want to open his mouth either, so the agenda is finally set to move on to the next ingredient.
"Next thing you know, it's about Hoboi's oil. With all due respect, I would like to explain to you on behalf of Varcus."
And, out of the cook's circle, the bozzle advanced.
He is one of the disciples of Vulcus, a people of Jagal with a great body. Bozzle looked around at the crowd with bright green eyes with a smiling grin.
"I was finally able to learn how to squeeze Hoboi's oil from Jagal humans the other day. Again, it doesn't seem very different from the oil of Leten, so it might be difficult for us to oil the fruit of the Hoboi we could buy ourselves."
After roasting the fruit of Hoboi, which resembles golden sesame seeds, it crumbles. After filtration, it is often aged and then filtered again. Simply put, that seemed to be the procedure.
"So that's the oil we made. It seems to be a much more aromatic oil than the oil of Leten."
A glass bottle was placed on the table, where the browned liquid was filled.
The plug is pulled out with the hands of the bozzle and turned into the hands of the people. Let me check, too, and it smelled just like sesame oil.
"Because of its strong aroma, it can't be said to be suitable for any dish. I wonder, however, if it will be quite treasured because it can produce a completely different flavor than the oil and milk oil of Leten"
Smiling and freshly stating that, Bozzle has turned his eyes to me.
"This is the oil created by Lord Asta's proposal in the first place, but what use was Lord Asta supposed to use?
"Right. I thought it might be good for sautéing with tau oil and other things, and then flavoring the juice dishes."
"Hmm. Can you try one dish, make something for me?
That was an unexpected suggestion, as it was meant to be only a listener today.
but I hope my knowledge helps Genos thrive. I've decided, by all means, to start cooking the prototype.
Whatever it takes too long, I decide to show off a simple stir fry. With caron breasts and aria, pra and chumcham as ingredients, the flavors are tau oil, sugar, nyatta distilled liquor, myrmu and kel root.
Finely chop breast with salt and pico leaves and sauté in hoboi oil with vegetables. Add the seasoning about half way through the fire and fry further and you're done.
The flavoring is almost identical to the sautéed pot meat-style sautéed dishes served on the daily menu of the stall. It's just that this time I use caron finely chopped meat, so it had a close finish to Chinjao Low Sue.
It was quite enough to prepare one mouth at a time for everyone on this occasion, but there is nothing to say about it, as the Raina-Loux and the others helped us out in total.
When he mouthed the finished tasting product that way, Bozzle raised his voice as if he was impressed with "cheeks".
"This is a brilliant honor. I can't believe this is the first time I've dealt with Hoboi's oil."
"Yes, because oil with similar flavors existed in my hometown."
When I tried it, I felt that the use of Hoboi oil had increased the amount of Chinese food at once.
Now I wonder if it would be almost perfect if I thickened it later using chatch powder as well. Then I also felt like I could finally declare the pot meat-style stir-fry with my chest stretched as' Giva's Pot Meat '.
"This is really delicious. Even though I use all sorts of seasonings, I think the oil from Hoboi creates a more wonderful flavor instead of getting in the way."
Mime and others gave me ears like that, glittering eyes.
The Rayna-Luu and Tour-Din are all mouthwatering their tastings with a serious and satisfying face. Rimi-Lou was laughing "yummy" innocently by himself.
"Uhm, it's delicious indeed. Now with a little more vanilla, you'll be able to get a lot of popularity in Castle Town."
Timaro describes it that way with a deep wrinkle on his brilliant forehead.
And instead, Varcus was breathing all the time.
"After all, Lord Asta can cook so much food even with caron meat. Well, Lord Asta can use even live fish, so I guess that's a natural story."
"Ah, yes. As a matter of fact, until the other day, they served Kalon and Kimmus dishes in the dining room of the Inn in Inn Town."
When I responded that way, Varcus stared at me with a gaze that looked like he was asleep.
"Really? If you'd just spoken up, I would have liked to take a leg."
"No, no, no, I don't think it's gonna be easy for Varcus to go to a lodging room in the town."
Bozzle smiled and took the spot back.
Varcus was talking about being extremely bad at crowds. Otherwise, he would have liked to be present at the feast of rapprochement held in the settlement by the woods.
"Well, whatever it is, I would have been able to tell you the unique taste of Hoboi's oil. If you all want Hoboi oil, you can buy a ton of Hoboi accordingly."
"Yeah. Because the people of Jagal also crave fuwanos and fruit liquors. Especially since Fuwano is still left in Turan's warehouse with mountains, it would be very helpful if we could expand our business with Jagal."
The study group also proceeded well, and Polearth looked satisfied.
"Well, then, at the end of the day, it's about Chaska, Sim's ingredient. This was a story that Lord Varcus only knew how to handle, so thank you."
"Yes, I did."
In response to Varcus' gaze, Tartumai and Siri-Low brought a large wrap from the table next door.
We had a treat at Silver Star Hall, Chaska. At that time, it was used as an instant dish for noodles without juice, so this was the first time that Shaska, the main unit, was seen as an ingredient in the vegetable state.
"This one will be the fruit of Chaska. From Sims, it can be delivered in this state."
On Varcus' signal, Tartumai took up a small plate. Insert it into the bag and soak up a small amount of chaska fruit.
That's how I tested the contents of the dish I was exposed to, and I was supposed to swallow my surprise voice.
It is a small, white grain.
The shape is oval, 5 mm long and 3 mm across, which size would it be?
Slightly transparent but beautiful pure white.
In short, it had a very similar appearance to the "rice" I know.
