New Encounters ③ - Study Group at Fa's House

After a while, we went home to Fa's.

Get out of the luggage car, get in front of the mother house of Fa's house, and Rico makes his eyes shine "Wow".

"Asta, you live here.... It's kind of good, my chest is pounding!

"Oh, yeah.... er, we need to get the watchdog to remember his face first. Have you ever seen a dog before?

"Of course! Me and Belton are travelers running from town to town! In Jagal, you've also seen a ranch where you grow hounds!

Then I decided to open the doorboard.

"Ugh!" With a delightful voice, "Rico glanced even more as Zilbe revealed the giant.

"That's a lion dog! A lion dog is a dog raised by noblemen and rich merchants to protect themselves, isn't it? How can a lion dog be kept by the woods?

"I got a little lucky, and I was supposed to get it from the nobles. Zilbe, these people are guests."

Zilbe had a decent face and was looking straight at only Van-Deiro.

If Van Deiro was a swordsman who could not be Llada-Luu, he would not be a Zilbe either. As far as I'm concerned, I just had to believe that this old swordsman was a good man with a reputation.

"Well, which job do we have... what do you guys want to do?

"Yes! Let me tour Asta's life! A glimpse of those casual routines should allow you to breathe so much life into the story!

As I sighed, I was supposed to lead my three guests to Kamadu's cabin.

The women who were helping Fa and Din's stalls were going to attend the study group as well, so there were 14 of them, including me. Those people were all a lot obscure because they didn't understand Rico's offer at all.

In front of Kamadu cabin, the women of Fou and Run relaxed one at a time. Looks like you've already done your job.

"Hi, good job. Um, where's Tia?

"Asta, you're back."

And, Tia's voice comes down from the overhead perimeter.

Rico and Belton looked around in amazement, and Van-Deiro stared at a point in the perimeter.

"Would that be a person in town? Can Tia show herself?

"Yeah. These people weren't born in Genos, were they? Although it is unacceptable to deepen rapprochement because, of course, it is still a people of the kingdom"

Along with the voice "Really?", Tia let only a peek into her face from the periphery. It is where Van-Deiro was gazing.

"Have you already started training for tree climbing? Is your back okay?

"Mm-hmm. My right arm still doesn't move well, but my back pain is completely gone. Don't worry about falling out of the tree. … more than that, Asta."

And, Tia makes me mouth cute.

"Asta is the benefactor of Tia, but the redemption of the sins that hurt her has already been fulfilled. Whether Asta is in danger or not, there's no reason for Tia to use this life to help."

"Yeah. What's wrong with that?

"But Tia doesn't feel like abandoning Asta if she's in danger. Unless that's an act that violates the Great God's code, you'll still try to help Asta."

The eyes that reminded me of Tia's garnet also only kept an eye on Van-Deiro.

"But we're not going to be able to beat that old man on the tier right now. He's not Asta's enemy, is he?

"Yeah. I'm a guest, not an enemy."

"Right. I hope so... I hope you never dispute with that person. Tia never wants to see Asta get hurt."

I nodded, "Okay."

Tia keeps her mouth shut and pulls her face inside the perimeter.

"Tia shouldn't have approached the murmur, even if she's not a person on a land called Genos. While Asta is at work, Tia is going to continue her training."

"Got it. Don't just be impotent."

Leaving the word "um," Tia seemed to have begun to aim on a tall tree.

Van-Deiro is breathing with his nose as he follows with his eyes the retraction and swinging peripheral movements.

"Is that the people of the sanctuary? Seems to be a beast, not unlike the wind.... If you fight with someone like that, you won't be safe here."

"It's okay! There's no reason for us to fight, either!

Rico was alone, looking happy. Belton is tongue-in-cheek.

I briefed the women of Fou and Run, who had no idea what was going on, and then let them bow their heads.

"Thank you for taking care of Tia. Say hello to Birdu-Fow, too."

"Yes. Now, if you'll excuse me"

They stayed after work in order not to leave Tia alone. They left the cabin after saluting unfamiliar guests.

This is finally the beginning of the study group, but the work that has to be done before it is left. I asked the other ladies to unload and then I looked back at Van Deiro.

"Now, I'd like to keep your knife...... can you accept that?

"... it was a promise."

With his muffled face, Van-Deiro has offered him a long sword of his hips.

"And will daggers be included in the sword?

"Ah, yes. A weapon made of steel is a gift to keep."

"Well, I'll have to offer you something you missed."

In the words of Van-Deiro, Belton said, "Why not!" and jumped up.

"Anything and nothing, if it is a lesson in this land, there is no other to follow"

"You, you can often offer a swordsman's soul that easy! What would you do if these guys were barbarians with the right reputation!?

"We're the ones who stepped in knowing that. That's why Non was the first to ask if it was really good?

A bright brown eye stares at the boy's dissatisfied face.

"We set foot in this place if we wanted to. If you do not intend to obey the teachings, leave this land immediately."

"You're the only fool Rico ever wanted that! I'm so sorry!

"If so, you can convince Rico to leave this place as well. Please, if that's what it takes."

Belton shrugged his head from the top of his hat.

Watching that look, Rico said, "Nor!" and arms together.

"How can Belton be so poorly heard? You're older than me. You're like a little kid, aren't you?

"Um! Whatever you think, you're the one who's bad! Why should I blame you?

"I'm not bad."

Rico rocks his brown curly hair and turns a puffy face.

I'm sorry about Belton, but I couldn't just keep an eye on that interaction, either, in my position.

"To welcome you as guests, we have to keep the steel. If you really don't feel like it, I'll give you a lift to Inn Town... What do we do?

Belton remained silent for a while but eventually took a big breath and stuck his hand in the cuff of his bumpy top.

Pulled out of it were as many as ten knives that were multiplied. Dangerous areas are housed in leather sheaths, which are tied together by leatherstrings. The same thing was to be pulled out of the reverse cuff as well.

"And then there's the dagger at your feet."

As Van-Deiro raised his voice, Belton turned his dissatisfied gaze towards you.

"Um! You don't have to tell me that I have a knife or a dagger in the first place, do you? How can you not be accommodating?

"Non thought that he would be by his side because he believed that they had the right heart. If you want to dye your hands at the wrong thing, you can't overlook it."

Belton swept up his cheeks and gave him a lot of leg clothes.

Then, a dagger is wrapped in a leatherband around the laid-back tibia. One side is bigger than a knife, a fine dagger. It was also hidden one on the left and right legs at a time.

"... if you lose even one bottle, it's just because...

Belton stuck those gains out at me as I said them in a fuzzy voice.

My hands had gone so well with Van-Deiro's long sword and dagger that Yun-Sudra would take it instead. It was Malfira-Naham who received Lyada-Lu and Barsha's sword. If he was a benevolent opponent, he would never have kept the knife unless he stepped into his mother's house, but at this time he had no choice but to strictly observe the teachings, in front of the Van-Deiro's.

We keep them in the motherhouse, and then we step into the cabin once again.

"Then all you guys have to do is have a look around where it won't get in the way... is that okay?

"Yes! Thank you!

Rico looked around the inside of Kamadu's cabin with his eyes shining again.

It is a proud kamadoku cabin built by a nearby man. Cookware has become much more plentiful, and on the shelf, a small wooden statue of the fire god Vairas looks down on us. Some of the burns left on the wall were remnants of the attack by the Hurricane Party.

The three Ricos stand around the entrance, while Barsha and Lyada-Lou line up beside each other dressed to scuff it. After I saw him, I confronted the people in line.

"Well, the regular study group is a little crackly. What training should we work on today?

"Right. Shouldn't we, after all, be asking the Ravitz people about their hopes?

Of all this, the most to learn will still be the face of Ravitz's blood family. To Yun-Sudra's kind suggestion, the Ravitz women were bowing their heads in a frightened manner.

"If that's the case...... could you give us a hand on how to make confectionery with Chaska? On this occasion, Malfira-Naham is the only one who has learned that yet..."

"Oh, did Day-Ravitz accept to use Chaska for confectionery?

"No, not yet. Because the parents like Chaska, they don't want to waste it..."

Chaska is quite expensive, so I guess that means I don't really want to adventure. But if you prefer Chaska itself, the breakthrough was about to open.

"I see. Then first of all, the new way of eating Chaska, so why don't you let Day-Ravitz know how delicious it is?

"Shaska's new way of eating, is it?

"Yeah. Tool-din's idea of a confectionery called Gonumoki Roll finishes up Chaska in the form of a cake, which is a cooking method that can be used as a regular meal as well as confectionery. I guess it would be easier to explain to them first how delicious the cake is with regular dishes and that this can also be converted to confectionery, but Day-Ravitz is also more receptive."

"Oh, that might be true. After all, parents seem to feel strongly that cooking with Giva is more important than confectionery..."

After stating it that way, the Ravitz women chuckled.

"... but parents should also really prefer sweet treats. When I served Kakiki at dinner, I told him not to waste too many ingredients, but he said he was eating very satisfied."

She's a branch person, so I guess she didn't actually see that.

There is no basis for this, but I ended up laughing bitterly inside, wondering if it was Lily-Lavitz who leaked it to her.

"Then let's move in that direction. If this were the case, it would be a new training for everyone else."

So I'll get to cooking the chaska first.

but another method of cooking existed for gonumoki rolls, so I decided to proceed with that one at the same time.

"It's not a treat. When it comes to gonumoki rolls, as far as I'm concerned, this is the main road, right? It might get a little more difficult, but because of that, let's try it."

I took everyone's hand and cut the pieces. The ingredients used are giva rose meat, carrot rice noodles, octopus rice chum chum, and orange shiitakemodoki.

The cut is all cornered and finely chopped only by Shiitakemodo. The rose meat is soaked in Kerr's root juice and gently left to taste. Once they are sautéed in hoboi oil, add the chaskas raw and release the seasoning with salt, pico leaves, tau oil and nyatta distilled liquor. And then I also decided to add smoked fish stock to give it depth.

"I'll pass the heat after this, so Chaska can stay raw. Once the seasoning and the stock are tame, wrap them with Gonumoki leaves."

Fourteen or so people were on the spot, so I decided to get them to practice in pairs. The majority of the women have their eyes shining in anticipation of what the hell kind of dish they will finish.

"Guys, are you ready? Then let's heat it up in a steam cage."

Nutnuts with Gonumoki leaves, knotted with Fibach's cranberry, arranged in steam cages and hung in iron pans. Barsha, who was also clamping her arms against the wall, was letting her big nose hitch like a dog.

"You just smelled good.... Asta won't let me or Lyada-Lu get the hang of it, will she?

"Yes, of course. I'm ready for both of you."

"Thank you. You have to brag about Michelle and Mime."

Next to Barsha, who laughs like that, Rico is screwed.

She's the one who brought in quite a troublesome problem, but I'm not going to let that make me cold. While I was getting ready for my next job, I made you laugh.

"I'm also preparing your share of the day, are you willing to mouth Giva's meat?

"What! Can we have it too!?

Rico gives a happy voice and then gets a little worried sick.

"But, um... we don't really have much extra copper coins... we decide that only dried meat and fuwano dumplings at noon..."

"This is a culinary taste, so you can't have a bronze coin. Well, I guess it's a sign of your closeness."

"Thank you! Ever since I heard about Pinot, I've always wanted to mouth Giva's cooking!

It was a very innocent smile.

Originally, she was a girl with an adorable style. If there was no such thing as wanting to tailor me to the main character of the puppet show, I would have liked to deepen the bond from this one.

"... Speaking of which, how old are you?

"I am eleven, and Belton is twelve! Van-Deiro is... but he's sixty, isn't he?

In the meantime, I could even find out about Van-Deiro's age. Whether or not to call sixty an old man in my hometown would be a place of disagreement, but in this world it should be classified as old age not least.

(When you say eleven, are you the same age as Tour-Din or Mim? Well, you're as old as you look)

But when it comes to puppeteers, she shows unworthy enthusiasm for her age. With Tour-Din and Maim, they should be just as serious when it comes to cooking, but they feel a different temper of fur than that.

(That's not age, I wonder if it involves character. Somehow...... I'm tempted to remind you of Raina-Lou or Siri-Lou)

Whatever it is, I wonder if this Rico is leaning his whole body towards the business of puppeteering. That was all that was beyond question.

"Well, is it time to do it?

I opened the lid of the steaming cage and took out one of my own gonumoki rolls.

When removing, use chopsticks and wait for them to cool down for a while. That's how I loosened up the spreading grass, and Chaska lit up in a twinkly fox color.

The orange colors of Nennon and Shiitakemodoki peek by the way and are vibrant. The aromatic aroma of tau oil delighted my nose.

"Let me taste it first to see if it's finished properly."

Because it is a tasting product, the size is a small one. I took it small so I wouldn't burn it.

Chaska has enough heat. It's a more viscous chaska than regular rice, so it's quite a snug bite.

But the taste was worse. Since the chaska was on the verge of sticking, this should regulate the water and time when stirring in an iron pan. If I could clear it, I would have been able to make it into a single item that I was not ashamed to serve anywhere.

"Yeah, you're fine. If you steam too much, the finish is going to be bad, so let's take out the rest of it."

The women use wooden skewers and wooden skewers to soothe the dizzy gonumoki rolls. They all had folds on the gonumoki leaves and detailed work on how to tie the crawl grass, so they seemed to be able to secure their own amount of rubbing.

Guests eat for me and the women of Ravitz.

I made sure I settled into enough heat to grab it by hand, and then I switched it to a wooden dish.

"Go ahead. It's only a tasting product, so it's not a complete finish, but I don't think you'll be able to eat it"

First Barsha and Lyada-Lu grab it, then Rico and Van Deiro put their hands up.

On the wood plate, one gonumoki roll was to be left pompous.

Before the boy pointing at me, I'll give him a wooden dish.

"Don't you want it? Well, I don't mind sticking with it."

"Heh! I don't have the muscle to be dusted by someone who doesn't have the edge or itch!

"I see. But this is on Fa's house property, and you're keeping the knife as a guest, aren't you? At this stage, aren't we already bonded?

…………

"Different people's opinions are helpful in completing new dishes. I was born and raised on a lot of land, and I'm just wondering how you feel about that."

Belton looked at the gonumoki roll on the wood plate from behind the hat.

There, Rico's shaky voice echoes.

"What is it, this dish!? I've never eaten such a strange dish!

"I use an ingredient called Chaska that I could buy from the eastern kingdom. We're talking about being eaten instead of fuwano."

"Really?! It's a very strange bite! And... this is Giva meat, right? It's a bit flavorful but surprisingly delicious!

Rico was already in a state of extreme gratitude.

"I guess Asta has been given a rare destiny around this forest and in Genos because she is such a good cook...... thanks! The desire to spin Asta's story has become so clear!

I thought it was a snake, but that innocent smile soothed my mind.

That's how Rico, who was eating the little gonumoki roll looking important, stares at my hand with a decent eye.

"Is that it? Did Belton not eat it yet? This is delicious!

"... Shut up - hey. Eat or not, but you're on my own."

"That's mean enough. Then I'll take it."

That's how Rico tried to put his hand over the wood plate, and Belton grabbed the gonumoki roll in a hurry.

"Oh, if it was about to be eaten by you, I'd rather eat it! You're too tense to eat!

"'Cause it would be a waste if you left the dish behind because of it"

Answering like that, Rico was giggling at the dullness.

Probably let him play the role of a cannibal for Belton. Both names have been arguing since the first time they appeared together, but at the bottom of my heart I felt a tingle of strong compassion for your presence.

"How about Van-Deiro? If you'd like, let us know what you think."

When I turned the water that way, the ungrateful old swordsman snorted "Hmm".

"I also remember Noon mouthing Sim's shasky dishes several times. But it must have been a dish as thin as a string."

"Yes. I dare to finish this shape here, didn't you mind?

"It's not like I didn't care. It was quite a delightful bite, and from the meat of Gibba I felt a rich nourishment. I'm sure this is a unique nourishment for wild beasts"

I hear that "Guardians" are destined for territories everywhere, and there are many opportunities to serve as noble escorts. Therefore, this old swordsman also seemed to have had experience in mouthing dishes from different lands.

"How's Belton? It's delicious, isn't it?

When Rico inquired that way, Belton shrugged his shoulder as he took away the grain of Chaska on his finger.

"There's nothing you can't eat. The meat stinked a little."

"It doesn't stink! This kind of thing is rich in flavor!... Sorry, Belton is not being honest"

"I have nothing to apologize for. Because it's true that the flavor of Giva meat is strong."

That's how I interacted with my guests, and I decided to return to my original duties.

Thirteen Kamadokus have already finished their tastings and shared their thoughts. In the meantime, I spoke to the women of Ravitz.

"How was the flavor? I don't think it was a bad idea."

"Yeah, it was delicious.... but this is similar to the dish you taught me before called Takoshi Shaska? I find it difficult to move a parent's mind just to serve this dish..."

The women of Ravitz gave me an honest, albeit overwhelming, mood.

"Oh, sure. Can't I tell you how delicious the cake is? Well, let's get down to cooking."

Chaska, who was hanging on the kamado, was right around the time of finishing, so we moved on to the next task.

Divide the cooked chaska into a wood dish and rinse it into a cake while adding water. So they envelop the ingredients, and they steam them in the leaves of Gonumoki.

"Over here, you should probably use ground beef. In the meantime, let's convert the ingredients we always use in Giba-Man."

The "meat chisel" I know was a dish that should be called "steamed rice rice rice balls", like the dish I just made. In this way, the dish of doughing the cakes and wrapping the ingredients is unknown by oligarchy. I was just looking forward to seeing what the hell kind of finish it would be - but when I tried it out, not only me, but the majority of the Kamadoku turns were supposed to lean their necks.

"It doesn't taste good...... I don't think so. But… it seems that I prefer to cook as much or as little as I would like to do."

"Right. If it's gourmet, eating the dough and ingredients together makes me wonder how delicious this dish… somehow it would be better to eat it separately"

Yun-Sudra and Thur-din and it was such a sentiment. And that was completely in line with my point of view.

The texture of the cake doesn't work in any good direction. Instead, I can't even feel that it depends on the deliciousness of the ingredients. I had to admit that this was a great failure of crackling.

"Hmm. More than expected, you didn't reconcile the cake with the ingredients. I thought the idea was interesting."

"Um... maybe this kind of dish didn't even exist in Asta's hometown?

I nodded, "Yeah," as the Ravitz women approximated me.

"Maybe it existed, but you weren't in my knowledge. I knew it because it was the first dish I ever cooked."

"Really... you've made me waste precious time and ingredients just because I told you an extra story"

Ravitz's ladies snorted at me, so I made her laugh, "That's not true."

"If you don't actually work on anything, you don't know if you're going to succeed. Besides, I don't even know what this dish would look like if I put my hands on it. There's nothing to waste."

but it's going to take a lot of time and effort to make this a fine dish. Before that, Day-Ravitz wanted to serve a different dish of rice cakes.

"The cake itself can be used in as many other dishes as possible. You said you put it in a juice dish, and I think it would go well with pizza and okonomiyaki. And then... with tomato sauce or cream sauce, you might want to finish it in pasta style."

"Oh, really? So how did you end up with a hand from a dish you don't remember?

"Hey, I was wondering if it would be easier to persuade Day-Ravitz to serve in a manner as similar to confectionery as possible. I was also interested in the finishing touches."

When I mentioned it that way, Yun-Sudra, who was listening next door, laughed "haha".

"Asta hasn't been afraid of failure lately. On your training day, you will be challenged to do many more things."

"Yeah, sort of. But I'm sorry if I finished my study session with a failure, so why don't we finish some cake dishes the rest of the time"

After I answered like that, I let everyone on the spot look around.

"I just want you to be very careful with the cake handling, as I told you before. In my hometown, it wasn't uncommon to talk about dying of a cake stuck in my throat. Especially the elderly and young children, because they are weak in chewing and swallowing, so that even those people can eat safely and never leave them in a big shape."

"Yes, I am aware of that."

The Kamadokus also nodded at me with a serious face.

The new dish I bring must never bring disaster to the people by the woods - I guess that's how everyone thinks about it.

"Then let's start with the easy part and work on the okonomiyaki. If it's okonomiyaki, it's usually made in every family."

So I looked up to the guests as I took up the next task, and I saw Rico breathing deeply.

"Did he suddenly show up to fail and become disillusioned?

"No," Rico shook his head sideways.

"Instead, I was impressed. I guess Asta has brought delicious food to the land as she repeatedly fails this way. I am the end of a puppet, so I am not afraid of failing to create something."

"Oh well. Cooking and puppetry. Well, it seems a lot different."

"Even so, I don't see any difference in the essential parts. … and I may have been distracted by the presence of Asta"

Rico, who would state so, had an adult smile on his face that he did not think was very eleven years old.

Still, I was in a hell of a mood to be tailored to be the main character in a puppet show - but I couldn't help but find this girl named Rico a strong interest and charm.
