Preparing Under the Puppet Play ② - Resonance

"Hey, good luck today, Asta"

When I went home to Fa's house after completing the stall business, Camua-Josh was waiting for me there.

Rico's car is packed in the corner of the vacant lot that stretches out in front of Fa's house. Leaning on its carriage, both Camua-Josh and Van Deiro stood side by side.

"Hi, good job. You've been able to see me safely."

Camua-Josh hasn't shown up at all since he broke up behind Kimmus's Tail Pavilion. "Yeah," Camua-Josh laughed as he stirred his golden brown hair.

"I'm glad to hear that, but you accidentally missed Asta's cooking. I don't know if I have too much left to sell... I'm sure I won't."

"Yes, thanks to you, the food is sold out every day"

"Yeah, shit. Well, I was able to get into Giva cooking at Kimmus's Tail Pavilion last night, so let's see."

After stating it that way, Camua-Josh looked back at Van Deiro, the straw.

"Speaking of which, what do you plan to do with your evening meal? If you'd like, I'd like to sift fruit liquor and the like as a sign of your closeness."

"Tonight, we shall probably stay here. I don't think there's any reason to wander around anymore."

Van-Deiro is the usual unfathomable face. It's hard to extrapolate from the look of what kind of mood you have for Camuer-Josh, who has suddenly pressed you.

(Hmm. As a person in town, you mean these two are top notch swordsmen.... I knew it wouldn't pin on me)

Doug and Iphius, the knights of the king's capital, for example, were amateurs who had something to feel about me. I'm sure that was the force emitted by humans who have defeated many enemies on the battlefield - and I don't feel that kind of atmosphere coming from Camua-Josh or Van Deiro either. Besides, it also seemed unrelated to the overwhelming sense of power possessed by the hunters by the woods.

From Van Deiro, however, we can feel the same kind of quiet presence as Gazran-Rutim and Dali Sauti. All I feel from Camua-Josh is - a floating, grasping atmosphere.

"Then why don't you join us for dinner at Fa's house today for crackles? Parent Ai-Fa, because I'm sure he'll agree."

When I called it that way, Van-Deiro frowned slightly.

"But the Nons are not in a position to receive charity. How can such imitation not benefit your troubles?

"It's not about the loss, is it? You're all going to leave Genos sooner or later, so it's up to you to want to deepen your bonds by then."

Van-Deiro silenced for a while before pointing his gaze at the carrier behind him.

"Whatever it is, Non is with Rico and the others. If you want me to invite you to dinner, I want Rico and the others to speak up."

"Are the Ricos in the middle of a job there?

"Mm-hmm. You're wearing a puppet costume."

So when I called out, Rico peered into his face from behind the podium.

"Ah, Asta! You're back from work. We rent this place again"

"Yeah. I don't mind that at all. So, about tonight..."

When I told her about the supper, Rico smiled at her.

"Thank you. The folks by the woods are really kind, aren't they? I've always been sweet with that generosity, and it makes me feel kind of sorry."

"You don't have to shy away from anything. Yesterday, you had dinner at Baym's house?

The only way to exchange words with a man by the woods is in the morning or at night. So Rico first went around in the morning, visiting a house by the woods, and from Jomtien, visiting an inn town, and then visiting another clan at night. Yesterday, however, we went to Rats' house in the morning and visited Baim's house at night.

By the way, they're showing puppet plays to the folks by the woods as a thank you for disturbing the house. Recently, Sudra and Din's house were also visited, so the Yun-Sudra and Tour-Din also rarely watched the puppet play.

"Anyway, that's what I'm talking about. I'll talk to you when I get back, and you'll think about it by then."

"Okay. Thank you. The kindness of Astas will never be forgotten."

At the end of the day, with a sunny smile, Rico pulled into the carrier.

"I see," Camua-Josh nodded after seeing it through.

"Though you're a traveler, she seems a lot more pure temperament. Sure enough, we're going to be able to bond with the forest folks without delay."

"Camua, you sound like a traveler who's not pure."

"Yeah, well, when it comes to travelers that I know a lot about, they're like," A Seat of Gamlay. "They're attractive gatherings of humans, but they're not very simple people, are they?

When they said that, it was hard for me to argue with them, too.

Either way, I can't be interested in standing up forever. The baggage cars I hold hold are waiting for me to attend the study group.

"Well, if you'll excuse me. See you soon."

"Ah, Asta! Before I do that, I'd like to make a few checks..."

and Camua-Josh twists and twists a slightly longer body. He is not very cute because he is a thirty man who has grown a mustache.

"Yes, we have the Kamua in the head. Please pray to the Western gods if I can get recognition for Ey-Fa"

"Thanks! I'll be grateful, Asta!

"But you left Late, didn't you? Are you going to stay by the woods until night like this?

"Yeah. Late, 'cause sometimes you'd want to put your wings up."

Well, if you were spending time at Kimmus's Tail Pavilion, you wouldn't even be bothered by the feeling of loneliness that Leyt feels. It's the usual thing for Camua-Josh to move at will.

That's how I said goodbye to the two Guardians and returned to Fa's house.

Rendezvous with Zilbe, who was relaxing in the earth, and head to Kamadu Hut. There Malfira-Naham and Fay-Baim were waiting, and Tia was also encouraging the training of tree climbing.

"Thank you for waiting. Now let's start training."

Today was the third day of my working day and my personal training day. Waiting on the carrier were Tul-din and Yun-Sudra, as well as three Ray-Matua. The story was that Raina-Lou and the others were concentrating on devising a new menu for Easter.

"I hear Rico and the others interrupted Baym's house yesterday. How was the puppet play?

Getting ready for training, when I asked him that, Fay-Baim looked hard, "Right."

"I had no idea that such a art existed, etc. It's as if the puppet is alive... so creepy at first."

"I see. Sure, it's a brilliant art. What play was revealed?

"It's the story of God, the Spirit and man. But... it was a play called The Fountain of Madhual, the god of alcohol."

Then Ray-Matua looked back with a face of intrigue.

"You don't have the same content as the play presented at Gaz's house! This was a play called" Princess Knight Zelia and the Crown of the Black Snake "!

Rico said he was getting seven or eight plays, so does he reveal them sequentially? Whatever it was, it was interesting.

"Those guys make copper coins out of puppet plays, don't they? Will Easter times show the arts in Genos?

"Come on, what do you think? I don't know if Rico and the others have decided yet."

"If that's the case, you want to see all the plays. I totally like the puppet show."

To the smiling Ray-Matua, Yun-Sudra also gave a voice of consent. Tour-Din also nods reluctantly.

In the meantime, Malfira-Naham was swimming his eyes alone.

"How was Malfira-Naham? Rico and the others went to Ravitz's house to talk, didn't they?

"Ha, yes. Wow, I thought it was a brilliant art too... but Day-Ravitz didn't seem to mind."

"Hmm? Wasn't the puppet play a preference?

"Ha, yes. Oh, I understand the mood to invest my heart in something like that and train... and he said that if I inclined that enthusiasm to something else, I would be able to do a better job."

"I see," I convinced. Even in my hometown, I think it would have been a good idea to downplay people who give blood to theatre, music, literature, etc. Such things are values that we see as not so called catagi jobs. If you are a people by the forest that is a quality, I guess it's not strange to have people who think so.

And when I thought that, I was fixing the gaze Malfira-Naham was letting him swim straight over here.

"What do you think of A, A and Asta?

"How? Well, I don't think you know what Day-Ravitz is saying."

"Oh, well, do you? Wow, I did not interpret that word somewhat... De, is it right to think like Day-Ravitz?

I think "Hmm."

"Nothing, I don't think we're talking about who's right or anything like that. Even if I can understand Day-Ravitz's words with my head, I'm never sympathetic."

"So, so, what does Asta think?

"Well... let's say it's a delicious dish. I insisted that the delights of delicious food should give more power to the people by the woods. If you're willing to watch a puppet play and think it's fun, I guess that will increase the joy of living."

"Ku, do you watch puppet plays and have more joy in living?

"Yeah. I'm a gatekeeper too, so I can't explain it well. Plays and music, even if they don't exist in the world, won't stand in the way of humans living? But human beings keep making plays and music. If you think about it, it's because it enriches people's minds."

Think about it, I just said that.

If you notice, the others are watching over us by stopping the work.

"And then, yeah...... I think the act of 'dressing' is the same thing. The people of Moribe also wear banquet costumes at the feast, but without banquet costumes, there would be no obstacle to living, would there? But it's a joy to wrap up a beautiful banquet costume, and it's a joy to see it. I never think that's the wrong culture."

"Bu, bu, bu..."

"Yeah. But some ladies may not find joy in wrapping up a banquet costume, and some men may think regular outfits are more desirable than banquet costumes. That's how people like it, isn't it? So I don't know if anyone is interested in the play or music and I don't think there's anything strange about it, and I don't think I'm sticking with it."

"So, so, but I think Day-Ravitz was impressed by Yumi's song. Duh, duh, how come the song is so good, you don't like the puppet play?

"That may be my personal preference, and then, as Malfira-Naham said at the beginning, I wonder if there's any part of it that says how much hassle I put into it. Yumi is a innkeeper, so I wasn't always practicing songs every day. But anyone thinks that Rico and the others are making puppet puppets into a business, and if they don't get so much training, there's no way they can wear that art. Perhaps you've thought you could do a more meaningful job if you put everything in your life into it."

I let you take a breather there.

"But well, I guess my personal preference is bigger. If Day-Ravitz was impressed with Rico's art, I don't think he said such a tough thing. We liked the puppet play, but Day-Ravitz didn't. It's a matter of preference, so I don't think one of them is right or wrong."

"Hey, I see... A, I think I understand how Asta feels. Well, if that's the case, I could be convinced, too."

"Yeah. By the way, did Day-Ravitz complain to the Ricos face to face?

"Yes, yes, no, I was bumping and crushing so the Ricos wouldn't hear me. It just so happens that I hear it."

"Oh well. Then I wonder if that's okay. I don't think Day-Ravitz wants to interfere with what people do in town."

Malfira-Naham nodded as if he was a jerk and spasmodic.

"Ha, yes. Wow, it's just that I was sick on my own. I apologize for taking the time before your important training."

"No, because this is how Rico and the others were supposed to connect with the people by the woods. I think it's necessary to talk like this."

I guess that means that both Day-Ravitz and Malfira-Naham were so shocked by the art of the Ricos. I decided to convince myself that this would have been valuable intercultural communication.

Thus, it is the night.

At Fa's house, guests were to be welcomed safely. There are four of them: Rico, Belton, Van Deiro and Camua-Josh. Because a few days had elapsed since the last invitation, or because of my love for Van Deiro, I never let Ai-Fa peek into his disgusting face with it.

"Hey, Asta's cooking is crackling. I just scratched the dried meat during the day, so it's a joy."

Camua-Josh, who sat in the place of Van-Deiro, is also a pleasant appearance. With it sideways, Ai-Fa uttered pre-meal language in her mouth.

"Well. It's kind of a different dish today."

That's what I said, and now I'm going to be sidelined by Ai-Fa.

"That's about it, I can see it. What kind of hobby is this?

What Ai-Fa says was the presence of an iron pot, placed denim in the middle of the car seat. After laying many pieces of woven cloth instead of a pot, I set up an iron pot in the place.

"Well, it doesn't make that much sense. I wanted to reveal myself before I split the dishes."

As I said, I let him remove the lid from the iron pan.

Ai-Fa opens her eyes a little surprised, and Camua-Josh speaks out, "Ho ho ho".

"What is this, you look delightful. Is this an eye-pleasing dish?

"That means something, too. Of course, the important thing is flavor."

In the pan, a much yellowish tinfa and giva rose meat, overlapping as if it were a petal, raises the hot air. This was a stacked pot of tinfa and rose meat when it came to cabbage - a dish commonly known as the Millefeuil pot.

Millefeuille is a western sweet overlaid with pie dough and cream. This dish is probably called the Millefeuille pan or something, because the overlapping appearance of cabbage and meat is reminiscent of the Millefeuille cross section.

As for cooking, it is not difficult to stick to. After layering the tinfa and rose meat, I just cut them into about 5 cm pieces and arranged them in an iron pan. If the cross section is arranged so that it comes up and packs it tightly and without gaps, the shape will be preserved in this way even after simmering.

As a matter of fact, the best thing to look at is before cooking. White tinfa and peony rose meat fold in multiple ways, and that's what you can tailor to look like when you're a flower petal. But after simmering, the meat would stain a white brown color, so I couldn't help but enjoy the contrast of color with Tinfa.

Still, it was up to me to bring in the iron pan because it was the Millefeuil pan. I wanted you to look at this before you split it up.

"We are also ready to put it on, but if you like, please keep it at first. I think the flavor is pretty good."

I used chopsticks and a ladle to share the dishes with everyone.

Having received it, Ai-Fa is inclined to his little neck, "Hmm".

"You don't have much broth. Is this not a juice, but a dish of boiled food?

"As far as I'm concerned, I guess I can take both. That's how I dared to make less broth."

I shrugged my shoulder just not sure, then Ai-Fa mouthed the dish of small dishes.

The eyes narrow satisfactorily.

"Mmm. Yummy."

"Right. Good for you, then."

I breathe in relief and look back at the guests. There, Rico was grinning at the full face.

"It's really delicious! The vegetables and meat are slightly sweet, they're so refreshing, but they taste so rich!

"Heh. Grab as many copper coins as you like. Ah, it's natural to be able to cook delicious dishes"

Belton is in a bad mood, stirring up the Millefeuil pan with more energy than Rico. I laughed at you for getting it.

"It is true that this vegetable called Tinfa was bought from a distant territory called Baldo. You're gonna need some copper coins to get in this Genos."

"Yes, if it's Baldo, we're familiar territory too. But I think you could have bought it there for a cheaper price than Tino."

It was Rico who responded that way.

"But this dish is delicious! You can't find any other ingredients besides giva meat and timfa to finish this delicious!

"Yeah. At last, I don't use seasonings."

"Huh?" Rico rounded his eyes.

Belton is frowning at Uranzo.

"This is just a dish of stewed timfa and giva meat. I don't use salt, tau oil, or stock. At last, I didn't even use water."

"Mi, water too? But you're so juicy, aren't you?

"That's the moisture out of Tinfa. Well, this tinfa uses water in that sense because it puts the dried and hardened stuff back in water."

Looking back, Ai-Fa is also staring at me in amazement.

I laughed at you with great satisfaction.

"Using fish and seagrass stock would tailor it to an even deeper flavor, and I think it had a juicy dish-like finish. But I wanted to show you that Tinfa and Giva meat are the only delicious things to finish."

"I see... that's what you say, hobby"

As convinced, Ai-Fa looked around at the other dishes.

Today's dedication is in addition to cooked chaskas, char-grilled loin, chopped salad of Tino and Nenone, and sautéed Aria and Bunasi Mejmodorki.

"These dishes are all prepared with afterhanging seasonings. But I don't have to season it, I wonder if I can make it taste good. Enjoy the difference if you like"

For charcoal grilling and sautéing, I only use salt and pico leaves, respectively. but giva loins, aria and bunasi mejimodoki all have the potential to make you delicious just that. The Millefeuille pot was also abrupt.

"Yeah, yeah, it sure tastes good. I don't think it'll hang anything, but I think it's a good enough dish."

Camua-Josh is also going through a meal with a crying face. Rico and the others were wondering, but that was a testament to Camua-Josh's satisfaction with the culinary prosperity.

"You don't have to use the afterhanging seasoning. You can finish your meal as you go."

"No, no, I can't help but enjoy what Asta calls the weirdness of change. Um, what do I hang on which one?

I tried to explain one by one. The Millefeuille pan is lined up with Ponzu modoki, a tau oil-based sauce for charcoal grilling, a Chinese-style dressing with hobo oil for salad, and Ustar sauce for sautéing.

"Oh, it's delicious. Besides, I can't wait to hear about this Chaska. It feels more like Asta's cooking than Fuwano or Poitan."

"Yes, in my hometown, I used this Shaska-like ingredient as a staple."

If it were Fermes, I would react hypersensitively to any of these remarks. Of course the Camua-Josh guys were enjoying their meals without worrying about anything.

"What do you say, Rico? Do you mind?

"Yes! Every dish is amazingly delicious! After all, Asta is a tremendous cook!

"Thanks, but you could have mouthed some delicious Giva food in other houses, wouldn't you?

After I answered like that, I let him add words.

"Every family now must have come out pretty loose on copper coins. Until the Parents' Council gave them full permission to do business in town, there were many families who didn't loose their minds."

"Yes, Bayme, Ravitz, and Sauti's house seemed to be pretty painful lives because they weren't involved in the business of selling Giva meat"

"Yeah, that's why I was the first to tell them that I don't think they had copper coins to buy tinfa or mushrooms, but they could make delicious dishes just with salt and pico leaves"

Rico stopped his hand and stared at my face.

"So... before you hang something called a backhang seasoning, these dishes hit it, right?

"Yeah, it might not be a good reference for a puppet play, but I thought I'd tell you."

Rico lowered his head when he put the wood plate down, "Thank you," he said.

"I have heard that the culinary guides were given to Bayme and Ravitz's house after the disturbances surrounding Count Turan's house ended, so I'm sure it's a story that has nothing to do with the puppet play. But... now I think we can breathe life into the story."

"Haha. Perhaps it would be helpful if it was ginger meat that didn't drain blood, and if it could be served with potato juice."

Rico's going to change his blood phase to my word.

"Oh, you know, is it hard for me to say it?

"Huh? That's well, because even Giva, who failed to drain blood, once she brings it home to peel off her fur. Wouldn't you be able to say as much to your mouth if you had that meat cut apart?

Rico's eyes turn to Ai-Fa at all costs.

Ai-Fa had a calm eye and looked back at it.

"Since I welcomed the hounds into my family, I've also had less trouble draining blood. It was roughly when I ran into a hungry Giva that I bled out. With a hound instead, it's easy to avoid that kind of danger, so even a hungry gibbon doesn't have to fall asleep."

"Really......" When Rico dropped his shoulder, Ai-Fa added, "but"

"In other houses, there are not enough hounds. In Fou, Run, and Sudra, we should be returning the meat of Gibba to the woods every day. If you want, you can ask those families."

"Thank you! Tomorrow, but let me speak to you!

Occasionally Rico turned into a joyous expression, combining his hands inadvertently.

"Now I will not taste in the same way the delights of the people of the woods from delicious dishes. Oh, my chest's kind of pounding!

"... sounds a lot happier to mouth dishes that don't taste good."

Ai-Fa said so with such a look that he was smiling bitterly.

After that, the innocent bickering continued, and if I realized it, I was out of food. but it's hard to be a carriage of dissolution because Camua-Josh magically took out the fruit liquor and retained the Van-Deiro's. Only the unacceptable tier of deepening intimacy with the people of the kingdom went down to the bedroom, and we were to enjoy even more bickering.

It should nevertheless be noted that it is truly unusual for Ai-Fa not to show one of the faces that seems annoying. Camua-Josh told me about Van Deiro's "Guardian" days and so on, and I'm listening to it with great interest. This should never have seemed to be the first time that Ai-Fa has shown so much interest in people in town.

(If Van Deiro was from his generation, I would have really done it.)

But of course, I was never once disturbed. Instead, I would be delighted if the closed temper, Ey-Fa, could deepen ties with the outside world's human beings. Besides, Van Deiro didn't seem very attractive to me either.

So, did you tell him all about it for a moment after the meal - and when you realized it, Rico and Belton were resting in peace, bringing it to your body?

"Whoa, whoa, you were laughing at me earlier, and you fell asleep with the corn"

"Mm-hmm. I was stuffing my roots and working, so I guess I needed some rest.... I'm sorry, can you help me get these guys to my luggage?

"Absolutely. I'm the one who pulled it off. I apologize for staying so long, too."

"No. I'm not going to apologize for sticking around."

In response, Ai-Fa looked more at Van-Deiro.

"You have mercy on these people like a real family, Van Deiro."

"Mm-hmm. Otherwise, I'm not thinking about acting together."

"It's a fine thing. Your presence is saving the fate of these people"

Van-Deiro then laid his eyes down and stared at Rico and Belton's sleeping face.

"You're not. … it is the Noun who is saved."

"What? What does that mean?

Van-Deiro remained silent for a while, staring at Rico and the others.

At the end of the day, slowly say the words.

"Non... used to marry his partner and have children. In a small village in the corner of Selva, we were to give you a wedding."

"Huh?", Camua-Josh rounds his eyes.

"Did Van-Deiro have a family? I didn't know that either."

"Even after the wedding, Non worked as a" guardian. "Because I didn't have enough to stay in one place, I only went home to my family to count it year after year."

In a low voice, Van-Deiro continued to speak.

The brown eyes are filled with unspoken emotions.

"And about ten years ago... the year the great-grown son of Non married his partner and gave birth to his son... the village was attacked by a group of bandits. The companions, the children, the grandchildren, they all returned their souls."

Me, Ai-Fa, Camua-Josh, I'm gonna lose my word.

Van-Deiro spins his words pale.

"The bandits were to be finished later. But so, it's not like my family's coming home either. Non's heart seems to have died that day at the border. Whatever you eat, you don't feel the taste, and you can't even get drunk from drinking. I sometimes wonder if he's really alive."

Van-Deiro's hand was gently bowed down to Rico and the others.

A large flat palm strokes Rico and Belton's hair with love.

"And Noon met Rico and the others. If the grandchildren of Non had not returned their souls, they would be about the same age today. So... the one who is saved is the one who is saved."

"Well," Ai-Fa breathed.

Its eyes look to the side of Van-Deiro, even with unexpected kindness.

"If so, it means that you are all saved. Just like me and Asta. … I am sure that Western God has brought you salvation"

"Maybe so," Van-Deiro looks back at Ai-Fa.

There was a soft smile on his face that we saw for the first time.

"My mouth has gone too far. If possible, I'd like to keep it a secret."

"I understand. Let's promise not to tell anyone. All right, Asta?

"Yeah, of course."

Answering like that, I was convinced.

Ai-Fa didn't just love Van-Deiro. I must have unconsciously felt something similar to myself inside Van-Deiro.

In evidence, the two of you now looked very closely at each other and saw what you looked like.
