Affinity Supper ③ - Juice and Chaska

"The next dish will be a juice dish"

Six full-course lid items, a juice dish, were served to us according to Genos' aristocratic manners.

I still don't know what kind of dish it is because the crochet is covered. Some voiced amazement when the dishes were delivered to all people and then the crochet was opened by the hands of the surnames.

"What a beautiful shade this is"

It was George-Zaza who said so.

The people of the Marquis de Genos, as well as Fermes, have been eating Dia's dishes for a long time, so I guess they won't be surprised. This time, it was none other than us forest people who played that role.

Whatever, it is a beautiful dish.

What is so beautiful is that its soup, poured into a deep silver dish, glittered in seven colors in the light of a chandelier overhead.

"This dish can only be spoken of at dinner. Do you have any idea why that is?

Eurifia said so, smiling like a prank.

Georg-Zaza, who had his eyes round and peeked into the contents of the plate, said, "Hmm?" and tilt his successful neck.

"Only at dinner, can you speak?... In Zaza's house, we are told that the ingredients for copper coins are only used at supper, but it's no good why the nobles spare the copper coins."

"Yeah, we always want to talk, but Dia won't let us."

I twisted my head too, but I couldn't come up with the most plausible answer.

Then Tour-Din gives a voice, "Maybe..."

"Does this mean that if it wasn't under the splendid candlestick light, it wouldn't be in such a beautiful shade......?

"Well," Eurifia rounded her eyes.

"Wow, you're right. How did you know the answer to Tour-Din, who speaks of Diane's cooking for the first time?

"Yes, no, I heard Dia also weighs in on the harmony of appearance, so... I guess this shade is responding to the strong light of the candlestick, I just thought,"

"That's brilliant. I'm sure Tour-Din has enough flexibility to beat your dia."

Even Fermes said it that way, so Tool-din, who turned red in his face, shrunk completely.

After all, Odifia is in a good mood, even with a note mark floating over her head. I guess it would be a supreme pleasure for Odifia for Tour-Din to be praised.

(Nevertheless, the light of the candlestick...)

When asked, it seemed to be a brilliance created by strong light, silver dishes and overlapping shades of soup.

Even so, the hue of the soup is almost transparent. What shines is most likely the oil content of the surface.

However, I can confirm that something like fine gold leaps in the soup where I don't find any ingredients. How brilliant they seemed to be by all their floating.

"... Nevertheless, you don't think this is food. It's like melting a gem."

Everyone, led by George-Zaza, was overwhelmed by its looks and could hardly take a spoon.

As I saw it, Eurifia takes the spoon.

"When I first took this dish before, I thought the same thing. And this is a dish that has an unbeatable taste for the beauty of its appearance."

"Hmmm... I'm just watching, but I can't talk."

We decided to soak up that beautiful soup with each spoon.

Since the spoons are also made of metal, the soup still feels glowing. I carried the spoon into my mouth in a thoughtful fascination.

Really, beyond imagination, the aroma jumps in my mouth.

What an intensely flavored soup it was to the back of its appearance.

What I feel strongly about is the stock of seafood. Um, shellfish similar to scallops seem to be taking stock with different seafood.

I wonder what flavoring is. It shouldn't be tau oil or miso because it looks so transparent. Still strong salt gas, thickness and fragrance. I could even imagine boiling vanilla, squeezing fruit juice, but I couldn't tell any more.

After all, it is oily.

As tight as the oil membrane was, the soup was also rich in oil.

However, I don't feel it at all, and the aftertaste is as refreshing as it sounds. I don't even feel like I have a faint taste of Hoboi oil, but I was wondering if I would be combining a few oils any day.

(Besides, Fermes moaned that Gibba Bone soup smells so strong that it can't be spoken of. I'm sure you don't use caron or kimmus fat or stock either)

Still, this soup was so sturdy and powerful that it was unbeatable in Giva bone soup.

I can hear Raina-Lou sitting in the seat furthest from me, sighing, "Oh."

"It tastes great...... and it doesn't just taste good, it feels very nourishing. Doesn't this dish seem wonderful to the people by the woods as well?

"Right," neighbor Gazran-Rutim responded calmly.

"I was also amazed by this beautiful look, but I guess what really amazes me is this flavor. I think Eurifia was right."

"Ugh. Looks like you were satisfied, above all.... This is a dish inspired by The Fountain of Madhual, the liquor god, isn't it?

To Eurifia's words, Dia nodded yes.

"At the end of that story, if there really existed a juicy dish called 'Jewel Shizuku' brought from the liquor god Madhual, I wondered what it tasted like… so I would think about it and make it up"

"What, what's that? Are we talking about a puppet play or something?

It was Fermes who responded to George-Zaza's words.

"Yes." The Fountain of Madhual, the liquor god, "will be one of the ancient miga. It is dealt with in songs, books and dance plays, so it will be dealt with a lot in puppet plays.... Um, weren't they included in Rico's puppeteer performance?

"Oh, speaking of which, I also sound familiar with that title. Must be one of those plays that was shown by the woods."

That's how I answered. Rico and the others were touring the woods to show the play, and it seemed like Faye-Beim and Ray-Matua were talking about the title.

"Really? But at the masquerade the other day, the Polearths were dressed to imitate the story."

"When it comes to por earth...... you seemed to be fumbling all over your stomach in some exotic outfit. Is that Madhual, the god of alcohol?

"Yes, Madhual, the liquor god, is described as a rich god and a fuzzy figure in any literature. It seems to be treated as a goddess in the south of Jagal and elsewhere, but it doesn't seem to change the point of being fuzzy."

This is Fermes, who reveals so much knowledge here.

But it was not a bad comfort to be able to learn the myths of the land in dialogue with him.

"Speaking of which, Merrim, Polearth's companion, was a spiritual costume in shades like red fruit liquor. Was that the spirit serving Madhual, the god of alcohol?

"Yeah, you're right. You'll be the spirits of Mammalia's fruit. Since Mammalian fruit liquor is the most common in Selva, it seems that spirits serving Madhual, the liquor god, become the essence of Nokimi Mammalian."

Then George-Zaza, who was rinsing the seven-colored glowing soup, raised his face to Uransen.

"I'm not sure. Isn't that Madhual a god? How can it be turned into a man or a woman, or into a spirit who serves by the land?

"This continent is so vast. The myths that were initially the same were going to be independently footprinted on each piece of land."

"Hmm. I wonder if it is something that God cannot be angry with, being treated so crudely. In other words, I can't forgive anyone who calls the Mother Forest the Father Forest."

"That will come from the difference between the faith of the people by the woods and the faith of the people of the kingdom. You're not supposed to be defining Mother Forest as God in the first place, are you?

"Uhm. I would never call my mother's forest God. But we will soon return our souls to the woods. Isn't that what people in the kingdom call God?

"No. Your concept is the same as that of a freelance people."

Fermes finally had a fun face and spoke that way.

"Originally, the people of the kingdom are only allowed to worship the four great gods and their seven little gods. Those who could not put their faith in the norm were to live as free pioneers."

"I don't really know what a freelance citizen is. I looked at her descendants several times, but I didn't feel anything special except to have her."

"That's about the Mass family people Asta is greeting, Siri-Low, the cook Varcus' apprentice, and Van-Deiro accompanying puppet Rico, right? Yeah, they're descendants of liberal pioneering people, but they're people who've already stopped doing what they believe in nature. As George-Zaza put it, it is now no different from the people of the general kingdom."

Hazel Eye of Fermes shines brightly. Um, it's not a look that's going to suck in the soul of the beholder, it's an innocent look like a child.

"Free pioneering people, like the people by the woods, are a people of the kingdom, but a clan that sees to its mother the land to which it belongs. If it was Van-Deiro, if it were a pile of drago inhabited by silver lions, the Mass or Lowe families - this has not yet been proven, but it probably had the Tanto river as its mother. It seems their ancestors never set foot in the Morga Forest."

"Hmm. Van-Deiro was talking about abandoning his hometown mountain when he was younger. So, are free pioneers all a family of hunters?

"No, not necessarily. I have also visited several free-flowing settlements, but very few clans lived as hunters. Usually, you looked like you worked in farming, based on the grace that mountains, forests and rivers bring. Still, for them, mountains, forests, rivers, etc. seemed to be the mother who nurtured them."

"Then you're no different from a normal town person."

"No. It was in the first place the culture of the previous era that I made my birth land my mother. Before the four great gods brought about a civilization of steel and stone - in other words, the time of the great god Ameshorn."

Fermes' tongue never stops. Eurifia, who had placed the spoon, looked at it with a bit of a bitter smile.

"Ameshorn is the Great God, and also this continent itself. In those days, therefore, all men took Ameshorn as their father, and their land of birth as their mother. But when the great god Ameshorn fell asleep, his faith was forbidden, and all men were to live as sons of the four great gods."

"... that it is the people of the sanctuary and the freely pioneering people who did not join it?

"The people of the sanctuary are exactly right. To await the awakening of the great god Ameshorn, they withdrew into the sanctuary, rejecting a new civilization. But liberal pioneers are different. While they embraced a new civilization and the existence of the four great gods, they wanted to leave half their souls in the land where they were born. So that was a different faith, with the four great gods as fathers and their lands as mothers."

"Are we aliens?"

"It's alien. Consequently, freedom-exploring people are regarded as being a step lower than the people of the kingdom. With its alien culture, it was allowed to name the people of the kingdom… perhaps in this world, only the people by the woods"

So Fermes smiled with a grin.

"But it was the former Marquis of Genos who allowed it, as well as His Majesty the current King Takairos, to forgive his place. Because the people of the woods are the people of Genos and the people of the kingdom, they will not be treated like free pioneers."

"Hmm. Whatever the people around us think, it's none of our business... What, Eurifia? If you want to say something, you don't have to shy away."

"Thank you, George-Zaza. I was just worried that the food would get cold."

Fermes gave a disgraceful look with a girl's face.

"I'm sorry. I stuck around and forgot to talk about it. I apologize for being late for dinner."

"No, because you must have thrown a dinner party to talk like this. But how about eating some food?

"Yes, I apologize to everyone else. As long as you're ashamed to show yourself standing up like this."

Fermes looked somewhat, really embarrassed. Doing so seems more and more pathetic.

(But well, I can't say this is a human side either)

That's what I thought, but I-Fa is getting a bumpy face. Is it not up to you that a man full of them is so pathetic?

In any case, the collaboration between George-Zaza and Eurifia led to the resumption of the meals that had been interrupted.

The plate of juice dishes was so empty that a new dish is served by the small names.

"Next up, we have fuwano dishes. … Chaska cuisine, to be precise."

As if nothing had happened, Dia introduced me that way.

What emerged from under the crochet was rarely Chaska cuisine. Chaska dish as a noodle, following basic cooking methods.

But we were stunned by the way it looked again.

He didn't have as distinguished an appearance as the juicy dish just now. But still, it looked breathtaking.

First, the main chaska was divided into three colours.

White, pink and light blue. I know, it's a craftsmanship reminiscent of saumen woven with pink and green noodles.

However, if it is a saumen I know, it is only to the extent that the basics are white and there is about a few colorful noodles mixed in there. Thus, in this Chaska dish, three colors were used in equal parts.

White, pink and light blue noodles make a complex tease on the plate, depicting an unrepeatable geometry. On top of that, again, brightly colored ingredients and transparent fillings were hung to create such beauty.

The ingredients seem to use Neenon, Ma Pra and Remirom for now. At the time of the carrot Nennon is orange, at the time of the paprika Ma Pra is yellow, at the time of the broccoli Remilom is green.

I just can't tell the other ingredients apart. There were two more colors, really bright red and purple.

(Both, sounds like leafy vegetables. Does that mean coloring around Tino and Tinfa, red and purple?)

At the moment, there should be no ingredients in Genos that I don't know about.

Besides, as indicated in the appetizer dishes, Dia should have had the skill of coloring.

"Hmm. Similar dishes to ramenya pasta? I was ready, but meat-free cooking is not enough."

After one admired the look of the dish, George-Zaza turned around as such. Because of the presence of Fermes today, it is impossible to use veterinary meat.

(But then, you should use seafood. In this dish, did you dare only use vegetables)

When I thought of it that way, Dia spoke with a loose face.

"In your Chaska dish, we use fish and shellfish delivered from Wang Du. And in the meat dishes we serve after this, we use giva meat."

"What? Does Fermes eat Giva meat?

"Yes, but we had other people telling us to serve a dish of giva meat. Of course, we prepare seafood dishes together."

Then, Fermes also raised his voice.

"You won't be satisfied with just the seafood dishes to invite people by the woods. I would like to reward you for the kindness of the many seafood dishes you have tasted in the woods."

"… today, you can also mouth the Giva dish you made"

and Rayna-Lew takes it seriously again and looks back at Dia.

"Sincerely, I am delighted. … but first, this dish."

"Yes, if you like it, I'm glad."

Dia's smile made us take the dishes away. It is a so-called fork, which is a spoon.

It also meant teasing the transparent filling, I tried stirring the chaska gently, but I still don't see any fish or shellfish. Is it used as stock, just like the soup just now?

Well, if you try it, you'll see. Thin as a saumen, wrapped a dusty chaska noodle around a fork and I carried it in my mouth.

This also has a waking taste.

Not as intense a flavor as a juice dish. However, the flavor was assembled in great detail.

The sweeter it is, the more spicy it is, and the more sour it is. Kind of reminds me of Thai food, ethnical flavour.

And it's the chaska body that accepts it - but I could find shellfish and fish there. They were finely carved and crafted into a chaska.

(Maybe either pink or blue is shellfish and one is fish)

I wasn't sure about that, but I can clearly feel the taste of seafood. It seems reasonable to assume that shellfish and fish are refined into each third of the noodle.

Its flavour is beautifully harmonious with the ethnical filling.

It's also kind of a natural harmony. Like Varcus, it doesn't feel like he's disciplining a rampaging horse, it seems like he's manipulating a bunch of reins very gracefully - such delicacy was felt.

(It tastes more complicated than the dishes I know well. But you don't care about that complexity... in short, you're so easy to eat)

Not as intensely impactful as Vulcan cuisine.

However, it still seemed to be an extraordinary arm to put such a complex flavoring into such a natural and graceful shape.

Besides, it looks beautiful.

He uses many brightly colored vegetables and also colors chaskas and leafy vegetables. And I guess even the dishes are carefully selected so as to be harmonious with those shades.

Leaf vegetables, by the way, still seemed to be Tino and Tinfa.

The red tino has a hint of spiciness, while the purple tinfa has a fruity sweetness. But if I were to make this redness with just chit fruit or ira leaves, it would be incredibly spicy, and I've never seen purple sweet fruits or anything like that. There is no interrelationship between taste and color.

Now, the shade was in harmony with the flavor.

It was natural that the red tino, reminiscent of chit fruit and the like, was spicy, and as for the purple tinfa - even if it was explained that this was originally a sweet flavored tinfa, it didn't cause discomfort for any reason, as much as it seemed to convince me to do so.

(Kind of feels like you're being held by a dia, even to the reins of your mind and consciousness)

While I truly indulge in this strange dish, I watch Dia.

Dia smiled relaxed and watched us eat.

Somehow - it is the eyes of the Mercy Mother who watches over my lovely child.

It is completely different from Varcus, who has a temporal atmosphere for artists and researchers. With all this brilliant court food, I was kind of in the mood for a home-cooked meal I kept.

"Um... how did Dia end up trying to be a cook?

When I asked her that way, Dia tilted her little neck a lot more properly.

"Is that why I aspired to be a cook... after all, because I saw fine dishes at a young age and got a great deal of inspiration"

"Was Dia's house a job involved in cooking?

"In other words, my parents were vegetable sellers in Castle Town. So you're selling vegetables you could buy from Dalaim in Castle Town, the Inquirer."

That said, Dia smiled with a grin.

"It was quite a big inquirer, so I also had the opportunity for my parents to dine with your loved ones. In doing so, I also gave you the opportunity to eat the fine dishes that your loved ones were told… so that I could gain heartfelt emotion."

"I see. So you're going to be a cook?"

"Yes, those dishes that I first saw felt more beautiful to me than anything else. I guess that's why I ended up with a tough cook who was obsessed with appearance."

"Nothing is difficult. In fact, the food you make is so wonderful."

After returning "thank you" to Eurifia's words, Dia turned to me.

"What about you?

"Huh? Is that me?

"Yes, I hear you were young enough to cook a number of stunning dishes from the beginning. I've always wondered how much training you've had."

It was a real honor to have Dia say that.

but it's me who doesn't have an episode worth it.

"I just grew up looking at that back because my father was a cook. It wasn't something that inspired me to be a cook, it just happened naturally."

"Are you to the left? So the Kimmus child is Kimmus."

Dia relieved her mouth with great pleasure.

"But I guess that was your gift. I had two brothers, but I would be the second brother to inherit the business of my parents. My older brother was not equipped with a commercial gift, and I made an apprenticeship to a woodworker."

"Right. I think I was originally born as a person who thought cooking would be fun because the cook child wouldn't necessarily grow up to be a cook."

Dia nodded satisfactorily before turning to Fermes for a praise.

"I apologize for not paying any attention and speaking for so long. I hope you'll forgive me."

"Terrible. It must be a great pleasure for Astas to bond with you."

Fermes was answering that way, along with an uncontrolled smile.

"Please don't worry about me, just tell me what you want. It's also my pleasure to see it."

So Fermes turned to Melfried.

"You too, Mel Fried. Since just now, won't you talk to me at all? This is the place to talk, so please tell us the full story."

"... I am not very good at speaking in large numbers of places. This is what nature looks like, so notice is useless."

"Really?... You seem a lot quieter today, too, Gazran-Rutim?

Gazran-Rutim, who had already finished his Chaska dishes, said, "Is that right?" and smiled.

"There was an interesting story going on, so you might have heard about it. In the future, we will be careful."

"Hehe. Doesn't that mean that other humans didn't quite have a mouth-watering gap because Fermes was eager to talk about it?

When Eurifia smiled and covered, Fermes gave him another look of shame, "I'm sorry," he said.

So Dia proclaims with a smile.

"Now the next dish will be vegetable dishes. I hope you like it."

The dinner party of rapprochement is also, at last, a turning point.

Ey-fa and Gazran-Rutim had heavy mouths, but Tour-din and Odifia have been whispering, and conversations are not interrupted thanks to George-Zaza and Eurifia. It's also a glimpse of how human Fermes is, and as far as I'm concerned, it seemed like a pretty meaningful time.

It's just that, after all, I'm just curious about how Gazran-Rutim is doing.

Gazran-Rutim's mouth is heavy because he is sharply judging how Fermes is doing, and I shouldn't have felt that way.
