Twenty-ninth Day of the Purple Moon ① - Totos Early Run Games
Even after "Jomtien's Day," we were able to have a full day.
After a ten-day Easter turning point, the Inn Town is finally busy. On the night of "Jomtien Day," a little incident arose over the outlaws trying to fake my copper coins, but it never developed into a big fuss either.
"... yesterday, it was really bad."
The next day, the outlaw visited the stall and apologized to me. Accompanying it were the inhabited youths of the Inn Town, who pulled this figure to the stage of a puppet play last night.
"I was born in the west, but the aristocracy crushed my family business. The folks by the woods heard that nobles were looking good... so I thought I'd make a lot of money."
In a quiet manner, he was speaking that way.
Last night, we also saw him watching Kamadu Asta by the Forest. When we got to the stage, Rico and I were just taking a break, so we asked him to reveal "Kamadoku Asta by the Forest" if he'd like.
"I was just fine today because I was thinking of revealing" Kamado no Asta by the Forest "at the top of the day before closing the store. I'd be delighted if Asta and the others could see it."
With that said, Rico revealed "Kamado-no-Asta by the Forest" to me.
He remained silent ever since, so he could not even ask what his thoughts were to be, but after one night he seemed to harden his feelings, too.
"I can't believe the people by the woods are getting into nobility. It was a lot of weather. You guys bumped into nobles from the front and got your current position. I cried and fell asleep like this. I feel sorry for myself."
"We have finally found the right path through the hands of all our compatriots. I guess it would be difficult to give thanks to the nobility, just the family of one house"
Ai-Fa had a solemn face and had answered as such.
And one of the young men turns his hand on the shoulder of the outlaw.
"But you're such an asshole, right? I can't welcome such a person as a guest of the town when I've solved my misunderstanding of the people by the woods. There's one thing here, isn't there something you should change your mind and work for?
"Even if I say it works, the only people who hire outlaws like me are the same villains anyway."
"Then that's why I should take care of the aristocrats. If you've broken down because of your nobility, it's up to the nobles to burn your care."
Laughing cheerfully, the young man said so.
"If it was Genos, I wouldn't have a problem with my job. Even the fence protecting Dareim has not yet been completed to rebuild Turan's house... and after that, he has a reputation for starting another big job on the other side of the Morga Forest."
I guess that's about the construction that hit the previous stage of the establishment of the second lodging town, which was once more said. First, we talked about the establishment of accommodation for the travellers to rest and barracks for the guards to stay in.
"When we're done with Easter, we're going to get hired for Turan's construction. Anyway, the noblemen seem to be holding their heads because they're understaffed. You should be able to get a pretty good bounce on your paycheck, too, huh?
"But I'm... a leftover, a drifter..."
"That's why they live in this lodging town, too! If we go around the back a little bit, there's a lot of long houses for the rest of us to sit back in. If you step too far back, that's what makes you an outlaw's nest... but it's up to you to fall."
The young man was only cheerful.
"If you're having trouble with copper coins, why don't you start working today? Something tells me a drunken southern architect is starting to work in Turan during Easter."
"Oh, that's probably the people we're letting be kind to. It's a holiday and we should get back to work tomorrow."
When I opened my mouth, both the outlaws and the youngsters circled their eyes.
"Really? Funny thing, you're connecting edges!
"That's true. Indeed, the architects were blurry that they couldn't get a job done with this number of people."
That's how I was supposed to hook up with the architect who came too far from Jomtien.
"You've got a lot of guts trying to steal copper coins from the forest folks! But that's reckless, not brave!
Listening to the story, Aldas and Maytons were laughing a lot.
However, the old man looked at the person with a gleaming eye.
"Did you really change your mind? Anyway, we're going to be out of work by the purple moon... but if you have feelings for the people by the woods, you have to make an offer after we leave."
"Don't be evil to the people by the woods. The truth is... I don't want to hurt anybody."
That said, the person spilled tears.
The old man is on the top of the Buddha, poking his shoulder small.
"A good old man, don't spill tears or anything.... then I'll talk to the Genos. It's tomorrow and three days from now."
The person was thus decided to work at Turan.
I guess, like Levi and Lars once did, poor humans are always in danger of falling into the path of evil. I only took this opportunity to hope that he could get his rightful life back.
◇
The day shifts like that, three days after "Jomtien's Day".
That day was the day of Totos' early race.
We were asked to open stalls around the arena that day. Well, is it a request or a suggestion? Perhaps since many humans would head to the arena that day, such a message was delivered by Polearths that even if they did business in the boarding town, they would not be expected to sell as usual.
We are thankfully accepting the proposal. It's not the first time I've done business in the arena, so it doesn't create that much anxiety either. Moreover, when the brothers from the woods appeared, it was humane to wish to see the masterpiece after business.
So it's the 29th of the Purple Moon.
Today's tournament was set for the same amount of time as Genos's regular martial arts club, so we needed to move along with it. The usual business starts at six moments up, but today it starts at half the four moments up.
A moment in this world is about 60 to 70 minutes, so opening hours will be quicker than an hour and a half. And it also takes extra about half an hour to travel, so I had to put the work forward for over two hours.
But this haste has also been experienced in the martial arts club. Ask Ai-Fa to collect firewood and vanilla, and prepare more people than usual for the first time, and the response will be possible. However, since the number of stalls varied between then and now, there has also been a dramatic increase in the number of jobs at the bottom. That had to be cut through with man-made sea tactics already.
(But back then and now, then, because each one of us has different powers. If I hadn't, I would have had to narrow down the number of dishes)
With all that emotion bitten down, I was able to get it down to its intended inscription.
Even Tour-Din, who rendezvoused at the promised time, said he could have prepared the confectionery without any problems.
Well, then, let's go.
As always, there were 10 Kamadu numbers and 6 escorts.
However, the escort is an extravagant member. Oh, my God, from all five families except Sudra, the head of the main house was supposed to leave.
"Of course, the others are going to go out with the arena! But you're going to walk on your own feet, so my parents are going to let me use their luggage!
Rad-Lid said so. In other families, it was for roughly the same reason.
In it, Chim-Sudra, who is not a single parent, had a rough face.
"What's wrong with you? Sounds like you're in a bad mood."
Since Chim-Sudra and I were to get into the same luggage, I asked him that way on the way to the Lou family.
"No, I'm happy about the night now. I'm not in a bad mood, I get nervous."
Chim-Sudra was invited to a celebratory feast today, just like me and Ai-Fa.
And if he should ask why, it was because he had captured the thief that had struck Marstein on the Day of Jomtien.
"There doesn't seem to be a companion to the thief, but that's not a sure story either. Therefore, I would like to treat it in secret that the people of the woods have cooperated in the capture so as not to cause unwanted disaster."
The messenger sent from Castel Genos said so.
That's how Chim-Sudra was supposed to give the silver coin of the prize in secret, but it was even offered a side prize: an invitation to the feast.
"The Marquis of Genos would like to thank the meritorious Chim-Sudra, but if this one comes by the woods, we will gather people's eyes. Thank you for your time, but I'd like you to take me to Castle Genos."
Mulstein's wounds were deeper than he could have imagined.
Malstein was unlucky and was shot through the shoulder through a gap in his armor, which caused him to have a high fever and he is still lying down. The worse Malstein's condition was, the heavier the sins of the outlaws became, and the dimension was that the Chim-Sudra feat that captured it also rose.
"It seems that Mel Fried is cutting it up as a proxy for the Lord now. Looks like that Melfried wants to thank Chim-Sudra in person."
It was, of course, Camua-Josh who secretly told me such a story. Camua-Josh, who had a pass, apparently went to visit Castle Genos, but because Malstein was in such a condition, he didn't even get to see him.
"Well, a cool number of people are invited to the feast today from Moribe. I don't suppose you need to be so careful."
That's what I said, but the look on Chim-Sudra's face didn't clear.
"But would it be just the sheikhs who are invited? I don't know if a family as small as myself, or a parent, could be invited to a feast in Castle Town."
"When I say that, I'm still in the same position."
"Asta is an exceptional man. You're not in the same position as me."
Chim-Sudra is a suggestion from Castle Genos that his companion, EA Fou-Sudra, should also accompany him. Therefore, I may have been so distracted.
"But I'm glad to have a feast with Chim-Sudra. I don't think so."
When I said that, Chim-Sudra finally gave me a smile.
"That's what I think, too. If it weren't for Asta and Ai-Fa, it would have been sarcastic and careful."
While we were having such a conversation, we arrived at the settlement of Luu.
That's more than usual, as it's joined by contestants Rudd-Lou and Schmiral-Lillin, as well as VIP Giza Lu, Raina Lu and Vina Lu Lillin. And since Raina-Lou and Vina-Lou-Lillin were already feast costumes, we were supposed to breathe admiration.
Recent feasts routinely feast costumes for Castle Town were prepared, but this time they were to be challenged with their own feast costumes, just like the last fight. Wearing numerous ornaments normally enshrined in care, Vina Ruu-Lilin and Raina Ruu-Lou, wrapped around a jade bug-colored veil, were of radiant beauty.
"I gave you a wedding, so I thought you'd never wear a banquet costume again..."
Schmiral-Lilyn stares inadvertently at Vina Luw-Lilyn, who speaks that way. As far as I'm concerned, I've been greatly delighted by how Schmiral-Lilyn looks.
"At the feast of when it was, Yumi said that even the ladies who gave you the wedding could wear it, right? I agree with that."
"Hmm......? It's so strange to wear a banquet costume with such short hair..."
"But it's beautiful," makes a statement that Schmiral-Lilyn is honestly past.
"Hey..." Vina Ruu-Lilyn said with her partner's arm as she rubbed her long-nosed side of hair.
Against the sweet air of both names, I gave Schmiral-Lilyn a laugh.
"Good luck with today's tournament, Schmiral-Lilyn. Please, don't get hurt."
"Yes, people by the woods, as representatives, I will do my best."
Then Limi-Luu, who appeared hiccups from across, spoke as he hugged Vina Luu-Lilin's creased hips.
"Limi will be there for you, too, so I'm not trying! If Schmiral-Lilyn can't go to the feast, my sister Vina won't be a sabing!
"I hope I don't..." Vina Ruu-Lilin smiled embarrassingly, stroking her sister's reddish hair happily.
"Is that it? Today's duty wasn't Limi-Lew, was it? Did you take turns with Lara-Lew?
When I called him that way, Rimi-Lou shook his head "Yeah," while holding him to Vina Luu-Lillin.
"It's supposed to be tougher than usual to wash dishes and stuff today, so I decided to add more Kamado numbers! So Limi, Rutim and the Ming ladies are going!
"Oh, you did. If you'd told me, I'd have prepared it over here."
It was Sheila-Lou, the partitioner of the day, who responded "no" to my words.
"There were many people here who wanted to see a comparison of Totos' runs, so they decided to increase their numbers because of that too. Please don't worry about it."
"I see. Well, you wouldn't miss this tournament if you were Rimi-Lou"
Rimi-Lou said cheerfully, "Yeah!" He nodded and then looked back at his brother, who was instead chewing up the yawn.
"Good luck to Rudd and Lulu! If Schmiral-Lilyn was your opponent, you could lose!
"Shut up. Compared to the power of the town, it's an act that defiles pride."
"Regardless," Schmiral-Lilyn smiled at Rudd-Lou.
Rud-Lew laughs a lot "hehe".
"I'm talking about the noble Totos being awesome and fast feet, and I'm just looking forward to seeing what they look like. Good luck with the ruuuuuuu and the others."
That's how our morale grew, and we were set to go for the arena.
Schmiral-Lilyn and Rudd-Lou, contestants, are outfits spanning each tototoss. Somehow that appearance should not have seemed more brave than usual.
(I hope we both win through enough to attend the feast...... well, all this has to do is pray to the woods and western gods)
According to the information communicated in advance, if you eat up to the top eight in today's tournament, you can attend the feast of celebration at Castel Genos.
This was supposed to be quite a narrow gate, as it had a reputation that would extend to nearly a hundred contestants.
"But was the early run of Totos an unfamiliar act even in Genos? Well, that's what we've been able to gather close to a hundred human beings."
Chim-Sudra was twisting her neck on the road to the arena, so I decided to explain it to you.
"It seems that three white copper coins will be distributed to players who have been able to break through the qualifying round because too few contestants will not boost the tournament. Since more than half of the participants seem to have arranged to move on to the main race, I guess a lot of people thought I'd try one."
"Three white copper coins? If you're going to distribute that to more than 50 people, don't lose a lot of money. Besides, will there be a reward for the top winners? Don't the nobles of Genos just lose money"
"Yeah. I guess the purpose is just to revitalize the town.... but Camua snuck up on me, and I'm talking about the huge profits you make because the people in your torso who are betting in these places are usually connected to nobility."
"I see. Rather, you're good enough to be."
While enjoying such a conversation, Ai-Fa's manipulated luggage was on the road gushing.
The arena runs north on the main street that runs through the boarding town and is present in which location it has been half an hour since it crossed the Turan. It was also since the Martial Arts Association that we took this path, sandwiched by barren wilderness and groves.
The main street, about ten metres wide, is already busy with humans and luggage. People who don't use luggage trucks walk for about an hour to relax in the arena. As the aristocrats thought, no fewer than the martial arts club were interested in Totos' early run tournament.
As he drives his luggage careful not to cause an accident, he eventually sees a yellowish stone wall in the direction of his left hand. It is a stone wall surrounding the arena, founded in the wilderness.
In front of it, the interrogation had also been conducted today by the guards of the Guardian Militia.
If you peek from the side of the palace, it is Marus, the platoon leader, who is partitioning the scene. We waited for our order to come around and I asked Mars to say hello.
"I'm out of time. Besides Easter, it's tough."
"Hmm. Either way, it's no different than not taking a break."
Mars had a bumpy face and handed me a wooden plaque, which was a permit for business. The cost of the place is five red copper coins at a slightly higher rate.
"There are VIP people in the last luggage only, and the two across Totos are tournament contestants. … and you remember having the same interaction during the martial arts"
"We don't have time to be wasting pounding. It's jammed up later, so get your luggage to the right place."
Like I was told, we put Gill's neck around the space on the left.
In front of the arena is a vast square, where a large crowd is already packed. At the southern edge of the square, a workbench was set up to sell snacks.
The quick-minded people are already out selling their food. With that on the side, we proceeded with the luggage.
"Speaking of which, wasn't Chim-Sudra the escort even during the fight?
When I asked, Chim-Sudra nodded "Uhm".
"Not only me, but all the hunters of Ai-Fa and Sudra, should have accompanied them as escorts"
"I knew it, right? Something tells me that's when I first heard Chim-Sudra's name."
"Until such a thing, do you remember"
And Chim-Sudra smiled as if to haunt her.
Since then, Chim-Sudra hasn't changed at all. He's a small, skinny young hunter with a very honest look.
But since then, Chim-Sudra has shown strength enough to be a brave man at the Joint Harvest Festival, welcoming a companion named EA Fou-Sudra, who has been invited to Castle Genos this evening.
The martial arts club was held on the silver moon, so nearly a year has passed. After about that amount of time, it would be natural to talk about different changes coming - but still, emotionally, it didn't change.
"Hey, Asta. Good luck."
"Have the Astas come too? Then this is the battle."
And that's how the people who worked on the workbench call out. This would also be a huge change, as the people who serve snack stalls only knew about the innkeepers who were pleading with them back then. It was the result of a street tour on a holiday night, and most of the people working on the spot were the faces they saw.
"Astor! Over here! Yo!
In the meantime, a familiar girl's voice flies from afar.
When I looked him in the eye, at the end of a work bench arranged upright, Yumi was waving a bump. Luia, the other side, is also lowering her head with a smile on her face.
"Hey, Yumi. I knew you were pulling this way."
Even though the first people were filling the workbench in front of them, Yumi was purposefully expanding the store on the western edge. It was also the same sight as it was during the martial arts club.
"I always sell Giva food, so there's no reason for Asta and the others to stick together anymore. But there's no reason to leave on purpose."
Yumi laughed more as she baked the okonomiyaki dough.
We dare to take over the shop on the western edge in order to manage the dishes. Because the Blue Sky Dining Room does not exist today, it becomes difficult to collect dishes when the store is closed in the center. For that reason, it was also the yumi of the martial arts fold that advised me that I should do business on the western edge.
"Look, I left the end empty. As usual, seven is fine, right?
"Yeah, because Levi's not here today."
Levi and Lars refused to open the store here because of the time they were planting.
But, of course, it's not like people don't stay in the lodging town either. Moreover, the main stalls are all headed out this way, so Levi was breathtaking that he would feed the remaining guests a noodle ramen.
Either way, we each decided to get ready in the space on the western edge that Yumi secured for us.
The workbench is made of brick and can be used as a tear. However, due to the structure, it was not possible to warm the two iron pans, so it was difficult to open the Levi's shop in that sense. To sell ramen and pasta on this occasion, you have to rent two workbenches and pay double the price for the place.
That's why I'm also preparing 'Giva Curry' today, not pasta. The daily menu is a bit crackly 'sauce-baked noodles', and the combination of 'giba-man' and 'kel-baked' is as usual.
Let's start with this' Giva Curry 'and wait until the juices and stews of the Lew family are reheated while we light the iron plate.
Then the people of the square approached each other, as they were led by those scents. From that, Wads laughs "Yo."
"You can smell the food from afar. It's so early in the morning, my stomach's going to ring."
"Haha. Please wait while the food warms up soon."
Instead of the big wads, of course, there was a small Delus figure. but it is a face that is somehow chewing up bitter bugs.
Wads, who noticed my gaze, sneered at my partner's back laughing "Oh."
"Dels said he didn't want to come, but I forced him to pull it off. Ooh. There are so many outlaws during the festival that I was worried about leaving Dells alone."
"Oh, did you? In Jagal, they're not very familiar with Totos' early run either."
"Otherwise, I don't think Dels wants to get near the casino. I'm sure it hurts your body."
"Hey," Dells said, scowling at Wads' giant.
So I was good at it. Dells was once taken out of the house for gambling.
"I see. Have you been trying to stay away from gambling lately?"
"Hmm! The only reason I had it together was because I had no gambler, but my talent as a merchant. Pouring copper coins into something you don't know is what fools do."
"I don't mind gambling either, but I was looking forward to this tournament. Well, if my folks from the woods hadn't competed, I wouldn't have gotten that interested."
While we were exchanging those words, neighbor Yun-Sudra told me that 'Giva Curry' was ready.
The same signal was sent by the Lou family, so I turn to the Dells once again.
"Now we will begin business. Today's daily dedication is probably the first time for both of you."
"Hmm? We've been sitting around for so long, we still don't know. Did we have food?"
"Yes, at least it will be a dish we didn't serve before Easter."
Since pasta was handled in curry and rotation in our stall, the frequency of the grilled noodles had dropped considerably, also considering the combination of the Levi's ramen.
But it doesn't change that it's a dish of confidence. When I teased Uster sauce on the noodles and ingredients I baked on the iron plate, further people were to push me to the stall.
"It smells delicious. This one smells just like the dish my daughter in the west over there serves."
"Yes. That would be a pretty great fragrance to be burned on an iron plate, wouldn't it?
Many customers lined up in daily dedication stalls, led by Dells and Wads.
But no other stall has lost it either. If you notice, there was tremendous momentum in the space on this western edge that killed people in the square.
If today's tournament is running on the same timetable as the Martial Arts Association, the qualification will begin in half an hour. Many would refrain from eating until the rest of Jomtien, but it was still quite crowded.
So far, no other face I've seen shows up besides Dells and Wads. Ai-Fa was crushing, "Looks like a lot of people from the woods got together," but those people didn't even try to buy food.
In that way, only half an hour passes quickly, and the sound of the drums echoes when lightning strikes from the arena surrounded by stone walls.
People rushed to pack the food and now they're going to kill it in the arena.
For us, it's a good break time.
"Oh man, you've been busier than usual. This one's fine, so can you help me wash the dishes better?
"Ha, yes. I understand that."
Malfira-Naham ran with the mundane, and several other women followed it.
That's how when I'm cleaning up the scorching of the iron plate, the folks by the woods finally get close.
"That was a lot of noise. We're going to let Jomtien buy us food."
It was the men of Fou who spoke to me that way, and all the others, were the families of Fa's nearest families. It seems that today, which is not exactly a holiday, only the people who are in the period of rest came out.
"But can this many people get into that place? Seems a lot bigger there, too, but do we have to make sure we have somewhere to run Totos?
"Probably fine, because about 1,000 or 2,000 people were going to be able to get in."
"2,000 people? That's an unimaginable number."
Leaving those words behind, the people by the woods also walked away into the arena.
The square is completely deserted, and the lazy queue at the entrance to the arena is quickly shortened. In the meantime, a group of new arrivals from the streets came straight to us.
"Good job, Asta. Come on, I'm late."
It was the face of the Silver Pot led by Radajid. The number of people is exactly nine.
"Good luck. I was just about to announce the start of qualifying."
"Yes. In time, above all. It was on foot, so I misjudged the time."
"Huh? You have a luggage truck, but you came on foot?
"Yes, because I need a luggage truck, a watch,"
I see. Guards patrol the parking lot for visitors, but it's basically their own responsibility to manage Totos and the luggage. I dare to climb up on foot because I can't manage my important tototoss and my luggage next, and if I put up a watch, I won't be able to watch the game only with that person.
"Schmiral-Lilyn, we'll see how far we can beat it. I'll tell you the results."
"Thank you. We need backup from Schmiral-Lilyn until our minute."
"Yes," he narrowed his eyes slightly, then Radajid flinched.
The queue is completely swallowed up in the venue. Soon, the race will start, I guess.
Schmiral-Lilyn and Rudd-Lou, my brothers by the woods, decided to pray with all my heart once more so that I could finish the race without going too far.
