Modern magic well understood ②

Modern magic is a technique invented 300 years ago by humans who stood up with brave men to fight the Demon King.

As I have mentioned many times before, there is a brave man who defeated the Demon King in this world... hiding in the shadow and not conspicuous, but he never challenged the Demon King alone, and he had his own people. It seems to be the founders of modern magic.

The companions supported the heroes with modern magic, which was systematized and passed on to future generations after the demon king was crushed. Thanks to this, modern magic is now a skill that can be acquired in the city's training grounds. However, there is another story as to whether it will really work.....

Anyway, now let's talk about modern magic. Modern magic, like ancient magic (ancient magic), falls broadly into two categories.

The first is a magical system called egoistic resonance, a selfish resonance. This is commonly referred to as resonance magic, and can be learned in schools, city training centers, etc. … Simply put, this is a magic application to "sounds" like songs and performances that force the psychology of the subject.

Like the rugby haka, for example, there is a ritual (ceremony) that elevates their own warfare and frustrates the opponent's warfare, but resonance magic seems to have made such an effect a reality.

Remember, there are SAN values in Feng's stats. The priests said it was blurry that even if it reached zero, it would not die, but the level would drop.

Resonance magic has a magic called Insanity that lowers the SAN value and Sanitity that prevents it. When humans fight each other, they first multiply that magic with each other. Perceptually, it's like a long time ago magical battle.

By the way, it seems that the gods and demons have no way of returning it, and like silver weapons, they avoid the users. Even so, modern magic is an effective way for weaker humans to counter stronger races.

There are also battle songs with increased STR, protection with increased HP and VIT, haystacks and throws with increased or decreased AGI, and brave souls that temporarily level up and become mad warriors.

Resonance magic works only on the mind, so you might think it's just your mind's fault, but it seems that your stats actually increase or decrease, so maybe it's the same mechanism as the divine moves (arts) used by saints.

It's a very user-friendly magic system in this condition... but the user is very selective.

I'm sure resonance magic can be used by anyone... Feng also tried to learn it at the training center with interest, but even if he was allowed to practice pronunciation in front of the piano in the first training, you'll see that a bloody effort and genius performer (maestro) class talent are required. There's not such a good story in the world.

Next, another modern magic is the magic system called "Fantastic Vision", which embodies fantasy.

This is also known as scroll magic, but it still needs considerable talent. Think of it as magic to create magic items that use magic on paper and tools, such as tinder and water scrolling.

Incidentally, the scroll of the example Tinder depicts a concentric circle of red and blue, which is actually quite abstract, but it seems to depict a flame. Likewise, the water scroll may have a little blue polka dot pattern drawn on it.

The realization of fantasy began when a genius painter, formerly a fellow brave man, removed the object painted on the canvas from the painting. He removed every weapon he could think of from his inner world (Microcosmos) and put it into battle with the Demons. In fact, the rifles that soldiers were equipped with in the castle were first embodied in the world by this genius painter, and later manufactured in reality. I'm surprised that magic comes first, not science.

After the Demon King crusade, the painter now produced paintings that could be useful for life, not weapons, and succeeded in abstracting and mass-printing the scrolls so that they could be used by anyone. They say this is the Tinder and Water scroll that is currently being used around the world.

It is said that he earned enormous wealth with his usury and lived a leisurely life after retirement. Nowadays, it is the aspiration of the magicians who aspire to modern magic.

Incidentally, what Guillaume is using is also a form of fantasy realization. As such, it is not exactly the same. I call his magic qualia for convenience.....

Qualia is, for example, when a human hears the word fire, he or she can think of it instantly in his or her head. Hot, bright, dangerous. When it comes to water, it's cold, it's shapeless, it's transparent... it's hard to put it into words, but it's easy to create images (images) of fire and water in your head.

In this state, humans are free to create and destroy things in their heads. At this time, the imaginary product that comes to mind is called Qualia.

In other words, scrolling magic can be thought of as projecting qualia into the painting and putting magic into reality... It seems that Guillaume can suddenly take out the fantasy (qualia) by skipping the process of drawing in the painting.

What we are doing is the same as the fantasy realization of the Fantastic Vision, but the process is significantly omitted and can no longer be said to be separate. Furthermore, since Guillaume's (Qualia) consumes MP despite its modern magic, perhaps it is similar to ancient magic. However, the activation conditions are not well understood at this time.

The use of Qualia is very rare and is worth it if you use it. For example, if Guillaume suddenly wakes up one day with a painting talent, he may be able to mass produce a scroll that creates a pistol. Unfortunately, he didn't have the talent to paint, but you'll see that the possibility alone is worth investing in him.

Even if the pistol can't be created, anyone can imagine that there is a lot of use if there is a scroll to shoot. Perhaps that's why he avoided people and came to this city. If his child had that talent, his parents would tell him to paint without regard for what he wants to do or want to do. Well, I don't think he'll get hurt by that....

Let's get back to it. Qualia's talents include innate and acquired ones, and Guillaume was born to use Qualia. Especially since he is a wanderer (Bagabond), it would be better to say the moment he woke up to the memory of his previous life...

Conversely, what is acquired is the power gained by using magic items that are excavated from ruins (Ruins) and labyrinths (Labyrinth). The more the labyrinth has hidden treasures, the better it is to use them to earn quality.

The labyrinth is thought to be a legacy of prehistoric civilization, but it is not well understood why such things are everywhere on earth. However, knowing that the magic items hidden there will only generate enormous amounts of wealth, bourgeoisies around the world demand it, and as an Adventurer Alliance, the Labyrinth is one of the biggest goals.

Now....

In this way, everyone looks for magic items with a bloody eye. It is a quality that can be obtained by using it....

Surprisingly, Feng may have that talent.

Guillaume, the user of qualia, says that those who are innately capable of it have a solid world of their own (microcosmos). My world, in short, is like an individual's attachment that this alone cannot be given away.

I don't know for sure because Guillaume doesn't want to talk much about himself, but he's always carrying a pistol to protect himself in that world. I was routinely driven into a situation where I would die if it weren't for this. I was so thoughtful about my life that I appeared as a quality in this world.....

So one day Feng was told by him.

"If there's something more important than your life, imagine it. If you were talented, it would come to mind and take shape."

That's what Feng thought about what was important to him.

Nevertheless, Feng wasn't so upset when he heard that he couldn't return to his original world. That's why I couldn't think of anything right away, even if I was told it was important.

On the contrary, I immediately thought of regret. If I hadn't changed my avatar to sue Emilia, I wouldn't have had this much trouble by now. I just inadvertently created a new character with an initial status, and I'm still Level 2.

And now, no matter how long she waited at that time, it turns out that she didn't come to the meeting place, and what was the point of just doing something that would make it difficult to live in this world?

In the first place, what I tried to sue in such a game was a mistake in itself. Emilia is a real person, so I should have thought of a way to make real contact from the beginning. Even though speaking up in the game was not a bad idea in itself, there was no need to stretch it until nothing was so close. Shouldn't you have called earlier?

Simply because of Feng's lack of courage, but I can't do it because it's making him suffer enough to die now. Jeanne is having fun as an adventurer, even though the others say hello to her sisters by inheriting the status of the game, but it doesn't make sense to think that she's the only one who can make pocket money on neighborhood spending quests.

At the very least, if Emilia told me what she wanted to do... worst of all, I would still be convinced, but what did I do when I was thrown into the other world at level 2 without being able to do anything? I think that was bad in junior high. But then, I wish you would talk to me about it, but I couldn't help but mention that you went to the house many times and didn't see me. At the end of the day, I was smoked by my family.

Feng began to murmur as he pondered.

My head was full of Emilia.

That's why.....

"Hey, you... how did you do that!?

Suddenly, Guillaume, who had changed his blood phase, said so, and Feng returned to me happily.

My memories got hot, but now I'm in conversation. He tried to poly his cheeks with a bitter smile.

"... oh?

I noticed a piece of paper being held in the hand.

If you look at it, it's a Chiyoshi with a Japanese-style painting... Maybe it's the same as the folding crane I gave Mary when I woke up in the dark castle. I thought I picked up something that was falling.

"Maybe I created this?

Ask Guillaume, who was in front of her while poking.

"I don't know. Didn't you feel like you just let it out? All of a sudden, it seemed to me like you pulled him out of somewhere."

"No, not at all. Thinking about something else, I don't remember anything....."

Speaking of what I was thinking about Emilia... Folding Crane is deeply related to her memories, and the Mary who gave it is just like her, Emilia is the god of this world, and the character of the game she made in that world is the true ancestor of this world...

Is that what this is about? If I had feelings for her, of course...

"Try again anyway."

Inspired by Guillaume, Feng tried hard to remember his memories with Emilia. But no matter how much I thought about it this time, Chiyoshi didn't show up. In other words, the act of giving out a thousand copies of paper and thinking about her are not linked as images. How do you think about her, it leads to Chiyoshi?

Should I remember that face? Should I think that I love her? On the contrary, should I be angry at her for not seeing her again? In general, when I was a child and recently, I had a different impression of her. Nowadays, my memories from elementary school have faded, and Sofia's image in the game is stronger. So maybe it's not Emilia that reminds me, but Sofia? No, there's another one. I met Mary in the mysterious space of that castle. At that time, the direction of the light that appeared indicated where she was. And in this world there is a god named Emilia, whose incarnated true ancestor, Sofia, exists....

The image I had of Feng's girlfriend was divided into such a state, and it didn't work out well. Of course, I met her at the end of the first semester of junior high school, and in reality, it was years ago.

So no matter what I thought, it didn't connect to her present, and no matter how much I tried afterwards, Chiyoshi never showed up.
