You are a rational person

You are a rational person. Most people are happy when they say this. I feel somehow complimented, even though it's supposed to be nothing special. But what is reason? If the antonym of reason is wild, the story is simple. It is reason that suppresses wildness. And there's a way to find out.

Have you ever seen people who are commonly referred to as alcoholics? Alcohol is not only strong but weak depending on the person, it is also characteristic of the way you get drunk. Laughing and crying. Most people drink alcohol and their blood vessels open and their face becomes red, making them feel better. However, inside, the more you drink, the more pale your complexion becomes, your eyes become bloody and triple white eyes, and when you notice it, there are people who run around with a sluggish tone of tone.

I thought something was wrong and tried to stop the people around me from drinking it, but it was too late at that time, and my reason had vanished, so I couldn't talk. Eventually, it's a matter of getting rough and out of hand, and a few policemen come and take it down, and finally grow up.

There are a few tough cops who are normally training, and they're finally getting sweaty. The power that is exerted at that time, and the fact that I usually wrap my tongue around where I hid it... but when I try to tell the person the next day, I say that I don't remember anything.

As long as the brawl makes him worse and fools around, it seems that he is serious. I wonder if anyone who likes alcohol has had one or two drunken memories. Later on, when my friends asked me about it, our faces turned bright red even if we didn't drink alcohol... but the strange thing is that even after our memories fly like this, drunkards come home properly.

I wonder what happened to him, and the day after the brawl, which made him want to doubt his personality, the liquor went home with his own feet. Even if you drink until you lose your reason and memory, it seems that there is still something left for humans to move their bodies as usual.

It's probably a completely different personality from reason, or wildness. We usually live under the mask of reason to suppress the wildness of the brawl.

In fact, if you look at the brain of a drunk person, it shows up as it is. When a person consumes alcohol, the liver first breaks it down, transforms it from formaldehyde to acetic acid and digests it. At that time, the liver will not be able to break down all the alcohol and only a little will flow into the blood, but when this alcohol reaches the brain, it will paralyze the cranial nerves. This is a so-called drunkenness... but specifically, where paralysis occurs, it is the first part of the cerebral cortex that governs reason and thought.

If you continue to consume more alcohol in this state, the alcohol concentration in your blood becomes stronger and stronger, eventually reaching the hippocampus and losing your memory. Then when we reach the cerebellum, we are inhibited by motor nerves, and we become a houndstooth.

Interestingly enough, this paralysis is only in the field that humans have acquired in the course of evolution, which makes humans inadequate. In other words, what remains is the minimum function to move the body before evolution, when humans were still wildlife. Apparently, there's a so-called instinct... that hides the wildness.

Let's change the story.

Shopenhauer says happiness is passive, but misfortune is positive.

We, animals called humans, are constantly fighting hunger to survive. To escape this pain, you must constantly move and continue to consume food in your body. If nothing is done, famine will surely come and we will die at the end of unbearable suffering. Unhappiness comes from the other side even if left alone. Living is established by avoiding death.

When do we feel happy in contrast? When I ask myself, I don't know if I'm happy. If you don't look away from the shoreline, it's relative so you don't know if the ship you're on is moving. Therefore, if you want to make sure that you are happy easily, you should look for someone who is more unhappy than yourself.

Conversely, when we see someone who is happier than ourselves, we feel pain, so we don't see it from the beginning, or we want that person to be unhappy. We cannot help cursing those who are happier than ourselves. No, if you say that the amount of happiness in the world is better than the amount of misfortune, for example, you can compare the feelings of animals eating other animals with those eating them.

By the way, what is happiness? If humans are driven by two desires: appetite and libido, is it possible to say that life is not threatened and that it is easy to bequeath offspring?

Approximately, we have a vision for the future in the first half of our lives and a nostalgia for the past in the second half of our lives. Now, it will depend on who feels more strongly about it, but the only thing I can assure you is that we have no current satisfactory attempt.

However, the present is the future for the past, the past for the future. Then our lives must be constantly unhappy. And why do we think that the past was good and the future was rosy?

That's probably because you think you're in the middle of life right now. Because everyone thinks that the future will continue for as long as the past he has walked before.

Of course, that's a mistake. The past is only the present (now) of the past, and no one knows what will happen to the future. Besides, humans are creatures that tamper with memories. Life, by analogy, is a cliff-like place that cannot be seen from the front or the back, where humans, by avoiding death, are finally only living through life, weaker than wildlife.

But what a difficult thing to accept.

We desperately hate to face death, whether it's human or other animal. Because when you look at the decaying matter that was shaping us, you have to realize that you are nothing but a phenomenon.

We have a desire for approval that we are special. It doesn't allow itself to be a mass of amino acids and proteins. Wherever this strong desire arises, it is also just a phenomenon of sexual desire.

No, if you say that you don't want to be recognized by someone with a helpful feeling, you should think this way. A desire for approval is a desire to be happy. And why humans want to be happy is because it is easier for them to bequeath their offspring.

By the way, it seems that humans cannot feel multiple pains at the same time. For example, if you have tooth decay pain, you forget your hunger temporarily. If you break your leg, all the usual worries will be blown away. So, if all the pain is removed, will we be happy?

Everyone in the modern age will feel that this is not the case.

Humans get bored this time when they're hungry.

Our ancestors were always hungry. I walked around the world to satisfy my hunger and eventually started farming, making tools. And when we finally got a way to fill our hunger without walking around, we learned to be bored. And bored people think about boring things.

Am I happy now? Which one of us is happier, him or me?

Returning is both negative and relative to happiness. Therefore, I feel like if someone who stands up falls, I can be happy... So we beat up the winners with jealousy and anonymity, imitating politicians and beating up politics. They laugh at things they don't have, incite discrimination, and try to hurt each other. Someone's failure is our happiness. Once we are free from the pain of death, we are ready to start beating our surroundings.

Eventually, the hatred bred conflict, created borders, and allowed people to bear arms. Rational people manipulated science, created powerful weapons, and finally created bombs that instantly claimed hundreds of thousands of lives with a single button.

Isn't this a very strange thing? We wore the mask of reason to suppress the wildness that would ensnare us all. But in fact, that reason hurts more than anyone else.

Almost all religions and philosophers, from ancient and modern times, have persuaded them to suppress their wildness and become rational. Thanks to this, modern people have become quite rational and economically prosperous. But did that really make us happy? Scared of the fear of being lost, you just look like you're working hard every day. As a result of working too hard with reason, we may not feel joy anymore.

If we let go of all human wildness, the world will be in chaos. It should be easy for anyone to imagine. But isn't it rational that is actually creating confusion? What kind of wildlife could take as many lives as that war? We were supposed to be rational, but someday we're turning into a machine that kills people efficiently.

Why did this happen? Everyone will recognize that reason is important for scientific and economic success, but it is not always rational to use the results obtained. Einstein, for example, created the technology to create a nuclear bomb, but it was used by another human being… or society needed it.

Let's think about happiness again.

Happiness is the condition in which a person's life is not threatened and it is easy to bequeath descendants. Then it seems that our happiness belongs to an instinctive part rooted in appetite and lust. By the way, society seeks the greatest happiness of the greatest number. In other words, society is not so rational.

History is a repeated match pump in which rational people light the way and wild people eat it up… rational people create new technologies and wild people use them. Is it no longer an inevitable fate that the destination is just suicide?

A wise man is someone who already knows something that ordinary people first realize when they die. The wise man is as if he were dead alive.

We fear death and think about the world after death. Ask such a person how you were before you were born and they'll say nothing. That's the right answer. We'll just go back before we're born dead, and in the long run, there's nothing there.

Everything turns around, nothing stays in one place. Within the logic of insanity, we will all perish. If civilization is the device that produces rational people, it is already dead alive.

You are a rational person. Most people are happy when they say this. But most people will be surprised when they say you're unhappy. What the hell are we being driven by?
