Air raids

A group of Phoenix Orc Crusaders exploring the Northwest River Basin of the Great Forest were prevented from marching the moment they entered the basin leading to Hermes territory by an unusual flock of Orcs. The crusaders became more and more exhausted in the battles that took place twice or three times a day.

I don't know why the orcs have grown so much, but the crusaders, who thought it would be difficult to keep up the pace, decided to change their policy as they arrived at the northern rendezvous point to build a stronghold village there and slowly clean up the surroundings.

However, when Feng was looking for a candidate site to build a new base, Mary, who had risen above the sky with the magic of television, noticed something and called him in. Is something wrong? And what he saw when he went up to the sky was the path made by the trees that were beautifully torn down, as if they were even a slug.

I don't know because it's far-sighted, but each tree should have been a splendid tree aged between decades and centuries. That's dozens and hundreds of them. What is that?

When Feng and Mary followed the trail a little further north with a bad feeling, they finally jumped into their eyes as a horrible orc swarm as they knocked down the trees like bulldozers.

"... the army of orcs? That's not the same number as before."

When Feng discovered it, he hurried back to the campsite and told everyone what he had seen.

"Ah, so far, it's been at most 50 or so villages, right? But what we saw over there was a whole bunch of orcs going down the trees in the woods. I just glanced at it, but it was over a hundred times. It disappeared across the horizon and I couldn't see the beginning, but perhaps there were thousands of orcs heading straight north."

"Thousands!? Well, we can't help it! We need a national force....."

"Oh, that's right. You know, orc herds aren't that level. It's an oak country, to put it bluntly."

Feng said so, and there was agitation among the adventurers. If I had encountered such a thing, would I have been safe? Until now, nothing has happened and it was just luck.

Among the adventurers, the inferior Anton said to Feng, trembling with regret.

"I'm sorry... this is not going to help me anymore. Leave me here if I can get my feet together."

Then Samson, who was listening to it, slapped him in the head with frustration.

"Stupid monkey! That's what everyone here thinks. It's not what you say. By and large, penetrating such a herd is like deliberately feeding on it. Still, we can't do nothing, so we're all talking about it."

"Sorry...."

"So, brave man. Do you have a plan?

When Samson said so and asked for Feng's instructions, the serious eyes of the adventurers who were there focused on him. He was under a little pressure.

"You two are right, honestly, we're not the only ones who can do this. We need measures at the national level as soon as possible. The orcs are heading straight north along the river, so if we keep going, we'll be heading out into Imperial Hermes territory. I think it's best to ask the Imperial Army for help."

When I heard the word Imperial Army, the atmosphere became a little harsh. Most of us here were brave adventurers, so I don't think we should rely on the Imperial Army. But I'm not saying that anymore.

"Fortunately, I don't know, but I can fly on the portal to the city of Phoenix, where the Imperial Army is supposed to be now. Someone will have to go and ask the Imperial Army there for help."

"But can you believe this story? A demon tribe has broken out in the forest and an army is headed for the Empire... I wonder if it's in the middle of a war now? I'm not asking you to give up border protection. How did they find out?"

"Still, you can't say nothing. Even if the response is delayed, there is no difference between knowing and not knowing. And to do that, we just have to pass on the information."

"But if they don't believe me when I tell them in good faith, it doesn't make sense. If you succeed, you may be caught and tortured for suspecting a spy. I wonder if we need to do that."

Adventurers react slowly. I don't think you can feel it because you have psychological resistance to the opponent during the war, and you will be bound almost certainly if you go. And the suspicion clears up after the Hermes are ravaged.

After all, there is no power to chase the Orc army and defeat it. The face of the assassination squad is overwhelming me....

"... then, I'll go."

Anton came forward modestly raising his hand while silence reigned over the field.

"Like I said, I can't keep up with this fight anymore. So no matter how many days you're in custody, no matter how tortured you are, no one will be in trouble. Then I'm the right man, right?

Anton, who was a mischievous crusader, showed such courage unexpectedly, so he ran upset among the crusaders. It was not because I made a fool of him, but because I lamented their irrationality.

"You idiot! When you go alone, you won't even listen to me."

"So, what do you want me to do!?

I'm coming with you.

Following that Anton, the other members of the crusade will be named after me and after me. The bravest thing is that he doesn't have the courage to show a man, if he doesn't get in here, he'll be lying. Such adventurers don't understand their psychology and Anton is in a good mood.

"If this happens, you should go with all the people who can go. If so many adventurers testify at once, you can't ignore them."

In the end, most adventurers came to that conclusion by naming themselves. The city of Phoenix is divided between human adventurers who can ride the portal and the rest of the beasts who will defend the place.

As the policy was decided and the adventurers packed, Feng stood alone waiting for them to prepare. Suspicionating about him, Samson came closer and said he had packed his bags.

"Brave man. Don't you have to pack your things?

"Nh, ahh... I thought I'd stay here."

The words of the crusader's leader stopped the adventurers who were preparing to move. Feng thought no one would understand if he didn't tell the boulder why, and it was a little difficult to say,

"Actually, the portal is a one-way ticket. If I want to come back here, I have to walk back from the village of Gargantua."

"I know that, and I've heard that before. I'm staying here and asking what I'm going to do."

Samson had nothing against it and seemed to want to know why it was pure. Of course, Feng didn't want to cheat and stay here. I just didn't want anyone to know if I could talk about it.

But Samson thought about Feng's feelings.

"Brave... no, leader. I'm not blaming you for any wrongdoing. Simply, if there is anything left to do here, I just want you to tell me what it is. Is that what I can do?

Having difficulty explaining why, and having trouble responding, Samson softened his expression.

"I know you're trying to hide it, but nobody doubts that you're a brave man anymore. You are deluded by the power of the wand, but I realize that all the miracles you have shown are your abilities. I don't know why you, the human, can use the spell of the Town Portal called the Forbidden Curse and hide that you are a brave man, but I want to help you as a leader. That's what everybody thinks."

Samson said so, and the adventurers surrounding him nodded with the same soft expression. I was trying to match it because you were hiding it, but it was a stupid expression to say you already knew that.

"If you say it's a tight leg, you can say so. Don't hesitate to tell me what you're trying to do to stay here, if you can help me. If they told me to die, I wouldn't say no, but I knew there was some danger and I was going to be an adventurer."

Samson's words were sincere, which is why he could not evade them with proper lies. Feng scratched Polypoly and the back of his head.

"Yeah, well, it's not like it's just a leg or a leg, but maybe it doesn't make much sense if everybody stays. Simply put, I was wondering if we could reduce the number of orcs before they reach Hermes territory...."

"What!? You're going to fight the Orcs!? Then why do you need our help?

There is a paralysis among the adventurers. Feng shook his head.

"No, there are a lot of people in the way. You know what I'm trying to do... you know, when you build a shelter, you always send down meteorites?

"Ah, ahh... after all, that wasn't the power of a cane, was it?

Feng thought... hey, but he kept quiet. You said you believed in the power of the brave. Well, actually, this is it. Even if your head thinks so, it is the strength of the brave that is unacceptable. Because this is only possible in the game. He went on.

"It's a powerful magic, but the problem is that the aim is uncertain. Even if you narrow it down to a certain extent, you don't know where it falls. The damage is also great. That's why I couldn't use it in battle... I don't know about the orc now, but it's hardened, isn't it? If that's the case, it's harder to get rid of it, so I thought I'd go and hit him with a few shots."

I see, that's what I mean.

After hearing Feng's story, the adventurers, including Samson, seemed convinced. In that case, it is certainly easier for the few elite to move, and first of all, if you fly in the sky, it is definitely faster than walking in the forest. The usual phoenix party is enough to support them, so the adventurers don't need it.

The adventurers convinced me to go to Phoenix instead of Feng and talk to the Imperial Army. They entered the portal in turn from those who were ready to withdraw. Feng's portal disappeared in a few minutes, and I couldn't make it so many times because it would be a waste of MP. But Anton walked away from the line of adventurers rushing through the portal, and when it was his turn, he came to Feng and suddenly said this.

"Feng... if it's not lucky, you might laugh, but I'll tell you because it might be the end. You don't really think anything about Meatier, do you?

"Eh...?

I didn't expect him to say such a thing when he didn't have the time, and he didn't think anything of it. He couldn't reply. Did Anton take it for granted?

"Actually, I noticed it from the beginning. I haven't known her since she was born on Date. If he was lying, you'd know right away... he asked you to pretend to be his lover, right? He... likes me so much that I can't help it..."

………………

I couldn't tell if it was a colored man's arrogance or a childhood frustration....

"But I like Elise. So even if I knew he was lying, I had no choice but to pretend not to notice. Hopefully, I wish you were the good guy he brought me... you're a really good guy. That's why I'm relieved. I may be on my own, but I'm glad you made him happy."

Anton said he was a little overdressed.

"You may not really think about him, but I think he probably likes you. I like you, too. So, when we get home safely, let's go play some more with the four of us."

When he said so, he quickly entered the portal without listening to Feng's reply.

There was a voice on his back saying, "Don't die," but he wasn't worried about his own safety. It was about Feng staying here. Anton walked through the portal, biting his back teeth to the inferiority that he couldn't help himself, and walked into the adventurers he had been waiting for.

Looking around, it wasn't in the woods anymore, it was in the middle of a barn with a small hill nearby.

As the adventurers exclaimed that they could really fly anywhere in an instant, an army of horseback riding soldiers approached them from the nearby gates of the city.

The blonde-eyed priests straddled the leading horses, and the adventurers were nervous that the Imperial Army had arrived quickly, but it wasn't the Imperial Army that approached them unexpectedly.

"Those people! Where the hell did you guys come from? My name is Permel! Lord Hermes Isaac is one of your men, keeping you in charge of the brave army! You know this is a brave army faction! If you don't want to fight back, drop your weapon now! Cut what you're looking for!

The adventurers stopped listening to the words. They should have come to see the Imperial Army, which was supposed to be stationed here, but they didn't expect to have a brave army there. Someday, while they were in the woods, the war changed and the brave army recaptured the city.

I wasn't completely interested in how I did it, but I don't care about it now. Representatives of the adventurers hurriedly abandoned their weapons before approaching Permel.

"Wait! We are not the Imperial Army. I am a brave adventurer. As a matter of fact, I was asked by Leonardo in Vinci Village to investigate the big forest, and I came here because I had to tell you as soon as possible."

"What? When it comes to Leonardo's request... are you Feng-sama's men?

I didn't expect Feng's name to appear even though he hasn't said anything yet... as soon as they nodded without a single word, Permel knew what was going on.

"If Feng-sama were here, she would have flown here using the portal.

"Ha, yes!

"Apparently it's true. Do you have any urgent business? Then I will see Lord Hermes immediately. Follow me."

Permel said so, turning back the horses and paving the way for the adventurers. In the worst case scenario, they were ready to be imprisoned and tortured, but after Permel thanked for this luck, even though they were just a little overwhelmed.

As Anton disappeared into the portal and the adventurers left for Phoenix City, Samson, who remained until the end, turned his back and turned.

I'll stay, too.

"... eh? Mr. Samson, you're not coming? It's almost time for the portal to disappear."

Feng hurriedly tried to push his back, but Samson ignored it.

"If the brave ones stay, and Jeanne stays, then I can't stay. You say it lightly, but it will be a dead end where we're headed. But what are you going to do without me, the most powerful human being?"

"But...."

"I hope nothing happens. But if a melee battle breaks out, I'm sure I can help. I won't bother you. If it's no good, I'll stay here. That's all."

Samson took off Feng's hand and lowered his hips on the spot. It seems that his determination is firm. I was wondering what happened to Feng.

"Isn't that nice? There's nothing to do here, and if you're going to die with me, there's no reason to refuse."

Guillaume is on Samson's side. Feng sighed.

I'm not going to die.

"Then it would be too much. I'm sure you didn't hesitate to send the others back to the city, but I've never had a lot of manpower. Isn't it?"

"... okay. So, Mani, we're going north after the orcs, so you're going to lead the beasts here and stop any more orcs from breaking in."

"No, I'm coming, too.

Feng said, Mani replied with his eyes twitching.

"Huh? Are you coming?

"Yes, I meant to... can't I?

And Guillaume broke in again,

"You can do that. You may have forgotten, but this party is full of rear guards and surprisingly fragile when it comes to fighting. Jeanne and Samson may be enough, but if the Beast King comes in, it'll be a hundred manpower."

Guillaume's manicure seems to have a remarkable reputation. Feng was convinced that that was also the case, and anyway, when she decided that it was okay if she returned them all safely,

"Well then... me and Jeanne, Guillaume, Mary, Lucy, Mani, Samson... I'm going after the orc with these seven. Melee groups seem motivated, but basically avoid melee fights. Repeated strike release from the sky, priority being given to reducing the number of orcs. Is this okay?

"Okay." "I have no objection." "Well, shall we go?"

Each of the companions replied and followed Feng.

The operation is, as I said, a strike out of the sky. Firstly, Feng and Mary floated at each other with a television spell and glided after the orc herd. Guillaume complained that walking a kilometer in the woods would take 30 minutes to an hour, but because this method would only take a minute, it was really ridiculous.

However, not only was it advantageous to come from above, but I didn't know what was lurking at the landing site, so I had to expose it to the proximity team at that time.

When they found the orc herd, they stepped down in the vicinity, eliminating the enemies if there were any enemies around them, followed by the phoenix on the appropriate high ground, casting a meteor strike spell, and then dropping it on the orc's head and leaving.

However, even if that eliminated a significant number of orcs, there still seemed to be as many to chase after. The orcs have stretched across the river, defeating hundreds of demons in a single bombing, but the end was invisible.

Before long, Feng's MP, the key to the Orc extermination, ran out, and as the night approached, they set up their first camp.

Feng had to take a lot of medication to recover his MP, but it was the first time he had taken such a large amount of medication at once, and either he was anxious or tired, or soon his body temperature dropped and he fell into a coma.

Jeanne, who noticed it, hurried him out with the drugs he was taking, but he couldn't get rid of everything because he was a man who was working on all kinds of drugs... and the party ended up spending an uneasy night with Phoenix in a blackout.

The next morning, nothing happened to him, but his face was blue and he didn't seem to be able to fight very well. I have only recovered half of my MP because I vomited the medicine, and I can't expect to be as effective as on my first day.

Still, the orc won't wait, so he pushed his friends against him and repeated the strike and disengagement tactics after yesterday.

However, in order not to follow the same path, Mary now leaves the television to Mary completely, and she focuses only on the meteor strike, taking a break between them to try to recover her MP.

Thanks to him, it was stable, but the processing speed fell considerably, and he was frustrated and fell into an unspeakable situation of dealing with the illicit drug of opium coca. Since I first realized the benefits of MP potions in this world, I've always enjoyed being amazed by my buddies, but I'm not having any fun right now. It was painful to see it.

With almost no rest, he kept on taking medicine, and then he kept on playing magic, and gradually he didn't know what he was doing. My vision is clear and my head goes around well, but I feel like I'm kind of walking around the same place. There was blood on my head and my temple's blood vessels kept twitching and moving, as if I had another creature in my head.

Since he had taken so much drug during the day, he naturally could not sleep at night, and even though his body was tired like mud, he had the feather to spend the night with his head only abnormally sharp.

He lay down with a sense of obligation to get tired anyway, waiting for the evening to dawn in agony as his surroundings sighed gently. Sleepy sweat stuck to my body and made me sick. I didn't have anybody to talk to, so I just had to wait for the time to pass. Occasionally, checking my status was my only pleasure to see my MP recover.

In the dark forest, where the moonlight did not reach, surrounded by a secluded darkness where he could not even hear the wildlife cry, he wondered why he was in such a state of sight.

On the day he came to this world, he was given the power of a brave man, and the woman was said to be all-you-can-hold, rejoicing innocently. But it was a mistake, and he didn't even have the strength, and he had to struggle in a world like this game. But for now, it was fun.

But what about now? Really awakened to his strength as a brave man, he also stunned Samson, the greatest adventurer, and overwhelmingly ravaged the demons. But all the pain was rolling there, and it wasn't fun at all. I'm sure I wouldn't have even thought of doing this without my strength. This is what happens when you get the power to tamper.

Miracles come at a price. When I was innocently enjoying my adventure, I had more dreams. Now that he was empowered, reality only inflicted pain on him.

The sun rises at dawn. A new day begins with a leaky day. He groaned as he looked up at the glowing green ceiling.

"I can't..."

He waited for his friends to wake up and declared a gift up.

"I'm sorry. I was trying to get rid of as many orcs as I could, but there's a limit to what I can do. If I keep going, maybe I'll be a loser before I get addicted. So let's change things a little bit."

"Yeah, that's right, you should definitely do that. Do you know what you look like? You look terrible....."

Jeanne peered into Feng's eyes and snapped worried. On the contrary of Feng, when she told me so, I was kind of hurt very much.

"I think that's better for me... but what do we do now? After the adventurers on the portal?

Guillaume says. Feng shook his head.

"No, even if I chase you now, it's just a two-day loss. Instead, I'd like to continue north and head ahead of the oak. Honestly, I don't know how far this army leader has gone, but if we keep going, we'll definitely get into Hermes territory? You'd better go around and touch the people at the forest exit and the settlements and get out of here."

"Is that realistic? I hope the adventurers move their troops well, but they don't seem to have much expectation."

Flying in the sky makes it easy to go 100 kilometers a day. When they changed course, they went straight north a little further from the river.

And two days later, two nights later, they finally reached the edge of the great forest, and found it.

It was a very unexpected sight of two monsters bumping into each other.
