Japan: A New Age

New Yamato Development Story 1

Maoki Matsumura is a 62-year-old engineer this year. I have a wife and two children, male and female, but the children are already independent and married, living in a different city from the houses of the Matsumuras.

His specialty is the design of water and sewer facilities, and he has been planning and designing overseas facilities for the last decade. Since the energy revolution in the example, the field of water and sewerage has also often been confused by changes in the way equipment is designed.

For example, where it stands out, it is the idea of saving energy. Traditionally, it was most basic and natural to consider energy savings in the idea of facilities and equipment for various installations. That's because electricity and fuel accounted for roughly 30% of the costs, including up to and including amortization of the facility, and it was a good engineer's qualification to design energy-saving equipment.

However, the electricity bill is now at 3 yen/kW, even for domestic use, and its cost has dropped dramatically, so that pumps and various equipment are being gunned down to aim for something that is compact and performs well, that is, both water and sewer, with a high quality of purified water.

It is the filtration equipment that will purify the water supply, but this was developed in the early days and filtered through a fine layer of sand, which is called slow filtration where organisms reproduce on the surface of that layer and also highly remove colors and odors. It is still used in some water purification plants, but the disadvantage is that it is large in area and sometimes necessary sand chips need to be manned.

Secondly, it is a combination of chemical precipitation and rapid filtration. With a chemical called agglomerate, the fine mud grains that are crossed by water are enlarged, and the crude method is precipitated and then filtered with a layer of coarse sand. When the sand in the filtration layer is dirty, the water is sprayed and washed in reverse. In this case, the area of the filtration pond itself is not more than 1/10 of the slow filtration.

Until recently, most water purification plants used this method.

The current mainstream is membrane filtration. This is because the filtration rate per area is much lower than rapid filtration, but the area occupied is small because it is easy to compact, such as making it cylindrical. Until a while ago, I used it without applying pressure due to the fact that it saved energy, but now the filtration speed is also increased because it can be applied easily and cheaply with a pump.

Furthermore, because the petrochemical sector has lost the use of fuel, the development of new products at an amazing rate and the improvement of existing products have led to cheaper and better polymeric membranes (membranes of plastic).

Although these membranes include MF (microfilter) membranes, UF (ultrafilter) membranes, RO (reverse osmosis) membranes, etc., UF membranes can also take relatively large molecular weights and beers, and RO membranes can turn seawater into fresh water. With up to the UF membrane, the treated water will be extremely clean and there is no risk of germ, beer contamination.

This treatment usually uses few chemicals, such as aggregators, and not too much mud that comes out as a result of purification. It now occupies a large area and the method of treating it in a tank of concrete prevails, but in the near future it will all turn into a method of treating it in a package using these membranes in the building.

On the other hand, sewage is collected from the toilet and kitchen and treated at a place called an end-of-life treatment plant. First, we take big things on screens and so on, and sewage is treated using microbes that come out of the water. This is done by putting mud in a concrete tank called a reaction tank with a lot of microbes in it, blowing in air and running dirt water while providing oxygen, which causes the microbes to break down (eat) the dirt and grow its body. Thus, the mixed water of the micro-organisms and treated water is separated in a sedimentation pond so that the supernatant water becomes treated water for further advanced treatment or is discharged as is, and the separated sludge is dehydrated, further burned and discarded.

In recent years, treatment using membranes instead of this sedimentary pond can increase the concentration of sludge with organisms, thus making the reaction tank more efficient and smaller in capacity.

Furthermore, because I use membranes, the quality of the water that comes out is better, precipitation sometimes doesn't go well in precipitation ponds, muddy water sometimes, but that doesn't happen at all.

Although technology has evolved very slowly in the field of water and sewerage, and the system has changed very little, the multiple-use of membranes and mainly pumps is a major change today, among other things.

Get the water, treat it and distribute it. Sewage is collected, treated and discarded where the water distributed is contaminated and comes out. That's the role, but it doesn't change the point of sending water with pipes in the upper water. However, since the flow rate is faster when the tube to be sent is reduced, and the resistance of the tube increases and the power consumption of the pump increases, a thicker tube was used, but now the power consumption does not have to be concerned, so a thinner tube is used.

As a general rule, sewage is collected under natural streams, so it is not very different from the conventional one.

In November 2025, Matsumura was ordered to put together as its chief because the company would next present a proposal for the planned design of the water and sewer facility in the capital city of Pearl with Shinmatsu.

Incidentally, nowadays, retirement remains in the ordinary company, but the law already dictates that the age of 65 be retired, so that he or she may be employed until the age of 70 if he or she so desires. Furthermore, with the so-called smooth effect, the rapid development of medicine in recent years has resulted in anti-age medicines and prescriptions being delivered, so that health can normally be maintained until about the age of 70. Matsumura started prescribing drugs and prescriptions at the age of 58, but either the effect or she is coming with little feeling old. Even when looking at seniors, more people have been healthy before, and the number and frequency of doctors is decreasing.

Matsumura and staff encouraged the creation of a pro posal late at night, based on the given topographical maps, population and other future plans. Subsequently, three companies were selected in the first selection, and Matsumura's company was soon selected as a result of a hearing of the person in charge at the company's Tokyo office. Matsumura naturally went to the site with the person in charge, but the family of the designer also went to the site as much as possible on condition, and he also gained the understanding of his wife.

"Well, it's not nice to be with Shinmatsu. Many times before, you've been abroad for a long time, but you've never been with me. Well, I honestly didn't want to go to the developing world either, but Shinyama is all Japanese, and it's a beautiful place, and the climate is nice, and I want to go" my wife said.

"Well, the departure is mid-February, we need to finish and hand over the drawings and design documents used by the first construction team by then, and we need to make a basic plan in Japan and get approval from the company soon, and we'll be busy for a while," Matsumura said, smiling bitterly at his easy-going wife.

Matsumura, as he had said, had just been driven to work, but by the fact that he and his long-term parents would be gone, his daughter and his son and their grandchildren, aged two, visited him many times, including New Year's. Matsumura's inability to see her grandson for a while, regardless of her son or daughter, was lonely as we played together.

Thus, the condition usually lasted with little or no opportunity to talk to my wife, but time passed, and it became the day of departure tomorrow. After all, the daughters and their wives and their sons with grandchildren are having a farewell meal. Sachi leaves late, so it is a meal at home with her hand cooking from having a young child.

"Dad, thank you. It seems that emigration is basically the principle for new arrivals. So, family ties are the rule," says my son Daiki.

"Yeah, well, I mean if you like it. It's not compulsory," Matsumura replies.

"What about your father? What about your mother again? That's number one," says my daughter Michiru.

"I will, but I will. Your father changed the company quite a bit, and a lot of things happened, but I think he was happy. More importantly, I think it would be better if I could live with your father next time. If your father wants to stay new, that's good again. I miss you so much," Sachi says pale.

"I'm probably full of heads right now about the last big project I'm going to be working on. But I still loved SF novels when I was younger, and the universe was appreciated. So planning, designing, and constructing sewers for the capital of colonial stars is a big deal. In addition, in Shinmatsu, plans for new development cities are on the horizon. Fortunately, thanks to the anti-age treatment, maybe 15 more years should do the job quite well. I honestly want to try it in a new way as long as my body and head last rather than retiring over here," Matsumura says quietly, adding.

"So, honestly, I'm glad Sachi said something earlier"

"Wow, you're in love," says my son's wife.

"As a matter of fact, my company is also thinking of moving forward in a new fashion. So, I'm looking for something that I want to go to as an employee. Therefore, if you have already been chosen as a member of the family to go, it is the principle that the family should be accompanied, which makes it highly plausible to take passenger ship seats." Otsuki asks softly.

"So, you're good, but what about Ee-san? Because you have a family."

"I'm in favor of going. You think it's absolutely good for your son Yoshihiro's future, don't you? Also, since my family is a big family, you don't have to be alone with me," Kei replies brightly.

"So it's just us. What stays is" Michiru says like a shin,

My husband's chief executive said, "Actually, my company has plans to build a new factory soon, and we're gathering personnel. This is just like you, Oki, and if your father-in-law is going local first, I'm still going to be more primitive."

"Yes! I didn't ask. That's what we talked about?" Michiru tells her to blame her husband.

"Yeah, but Michiru would be typing into his current editorial job, right?" A little dull and Oki returns it.

"Yes, but if you're as competent as I am, you can go anywhere to work. I've made up my mind! Let's go too. So, when will it be in that case?" Michiru says softly.

"It's decided in April, isn't it? So if you can still afford a seat, it's principle with you," Daiki says, and I'll try to do it accordingly, but I'll say it while I think about it.

"Then I guess I'll figure out what I can do for two months to get rid of the job I have now."

Matsumura's welcoming party prompted it, and in the end, Matsumura's family was to give up a family and move to a new location for each of its spouses.

On February 17, Matsumura flew out of Tokyo on a plane after being dropped off by his family and flew from Makihara Starbase toward Shinmatsu. with 10 other members of the sewer design team.

After an 11-day journey, Shinmatsu approaches.

Guys, I'm staring at you to eat the screen in. Although it is a familiar terrain in topographic maps and aerial photographs, it is completely different to look at the raw scenes that actually come close.

"Lake Pearl really has beautiful water. It's too good as tap raw water, and I don't need to treat anything, but it's hard not to," says the team member.

"Also, I feel guilty about pouring sewage treatment water over there. But it's the only one there," said the young young pine.

As it dimmed a little, the passenger ship landed at the Pearl City space port and a bus-type commuter is picking it up. The conductor said, "Thank you for the long haul. ○ ○ Mr. Design is on the line. I am Ando the guide. Uh, eleven and, no doubt, the members," but

Matsumura answers. "Yes, definitely. I'm Matsumura, the leader."

"Okay, get on it first," I begin my explanation where I got on it.

"Your inn is an apartment with meals, but it's decided, so I'll show you now. I'll have you guys go to your office tomorrow, but I don't have enough people's hands at all, so I'll give you the map, so go yourself" Ando explains.

The city is only about 5 km from the space port, so you'll reach that apartment in less than 10 minutes. It's a new, white-like five-story apartment format that stands out even when it gets a little dark.

"Come on, we're here. Thank you. Then I'll take over to the janitor of the apartment" waiting, handing over to the narrower woman.

"Thank you, Kawamura-san, for taking over. Well, good night everyone" the bus closes the door and leaves.

Kawamura-san, a woman of about 40 years of age who feels serene, guides everyone to a room and teaches them how to use one street of equipment such as a bathroom and a simple kitchen in one room. Each room is large enough to live alone in 1K.

"If your family can come, you will also be assigned another type of room by its configuration. Then take a rest. Please note that if you would like alcohol, there is a vending machine on the ground floor, and the knobs are sold together, so please use them" guidance from Ms Kawamura.

Matsumura and the others are instructed by Matsumura because the time on board was slightly off from Shinmama's time, and the drowsiness has not yet come.

"In the meantime, let's take a shower. Then, uh, go buy me some booze and a knob. Don't hesitate to drop it at company expense. I'll just give it to you for now. If it's not enough, you can replace it. Let's do it in the meeting room there. An hour from now," he said, handing the 10,000 yen bill to Nobe.

An hour later, as we gather for a drink, the main thing to talk about is the beautiful scenery around the city of Pearl, which we saw as we descended, moving onto the screen.

"It's a good cousin to live in. I'm not rubbish at all. More importantly, it tastes good because of the clean air."

One said, and another said, "There's something exciting about a new city. Well, it's part of this city, but we set the specs for that ability, the placement, and it stays all the time and everyone uses it. Technician, you'll get to the profit," he exclaims.

"By the way, Mr. Matsumura, everyone who comes next time is a wife belt, and basically wives and children are supposed to come about April, right? Soon the company's aim seems to be to make Shinmama like it and live there, but is there a plan that matches it as a company?" Matsumura replies in reply to the question.

"Yeah, if it meant I'd stay here, it would be years in my case, and I'd sign a contract with the company on a project basis, and I'd do my job. However, the company seems prepared to set up a branch office as well.

Also, it's natural to make the Pearl City design progressing for the moment, but the planned design of the town's water and sewer for resource development that we're developing around now is going to be additionally included. Now that we are doing this temporarily and temporarily, I want you to think about the future and take overall alignment. For the time being, I won't be able to finish my job at Shinmatsu. "

That evening's feast was opened in less than an hour, sometimes just for booze and knobs.
