Chapter 467: The Man Who Stood Between Them
The Man Who Stood Between Them
Victor took another step.
"First, I’m going to cut off your tongue for talking to Diana the way you did."
Simon instinctively covered his mouth.
His fingers trembled against his lips.
Only moments ago, he had been standing there with the confidence of someone who believed he was untouchable. Now, that confidence was gone.
Victor’s golden eyes remained cold.
There wasn’t even a hint of hesitation in them.
"Next, I’m going to cut off your dick because of what you thought of doing to her."
Simon’s face instantly drained of color.
His breathing became uneven.
His chest rose and fell rapidly as panic took hold of him.
"No..."
The word barely escaped his throat.
Victor continued walking toward him.
"Then I’ll take your eyes because of the look you gave her."
Simon violently shook his head.
"No..."
His voice cracked.
"Please..."
Victor’s expression did not change.
"Then finally, I’m going to heal you and allow you to live the rest of your life with no tongue, no eyes, and no dick."
The words settled over the street like a death sentence.
Silence followed.
Nobody in the crowd dared to speak.
Not a single person.
Even those who had previously sympathized with Simon kept their mouths shut. Some lowered their gazes, while others simply stared at Victor with unease.
Nobody wanted to become the next person standing in front of him.
Simon stared at Victor.

His lips trembled uncontrollably.
His entire body shook.
The image Victor had described had already taken root inside his mind.
Living without his tongue.
Living without his eyes.
Living without his manhood.
And worst of all, being left alive to experience every single day of it.
The thought terrified him more than death itself.
His breath caught in his throat.
His stomach twisted violently.
Fear consumed whatever pride he had left.
Hearing Victor calmly explain what he intended to do made Simon shudder.
His knees weakened.
His legs could barely support his weight.
And then, before he could even stop himself, warmth spread down his legs.
He had lost control of his bladder.
Simon had wet himself.
A few people in the crowd noticed.
Under normal circumstances, the humiliation would have been unbearable.
But Simon didn’t care anymore.
Dignity meant nothing.
Pride meant nothing.
All he wanted was to survive.
He wanted someone to save him.
Anyone.
He looked around desperately, searching the faces surrounding him.
Someone.
Please.
Just one person.
Just as Victor was about to make his next move, a loud voice suddenly rang out from farther down the street.
"What’s going on here?!"
Victor paused.
The crowd stirred.
Several people turned toward the source of the voice.
Heavy footsteps echoed through the street.
They were getting closer.
A group of fully armed men soon appeared, pushing their way through the crowd.
Their armor caught the sunlight as they advanced.
The sound of metal shifting with every step added another layer of tension to the already silent street.
At the front walked an old man.
His back was straight despite his age.
His expression was stern.
Sharp eyes swept across the scene, taking in the damaged surroundings, the frightened crowd, and finally the two men standing in the center.
For a moment, nobody spoke.
The old man’s gaze eventually settled on Victor.
Then on Simon.
Simon froze.
His eyes widened.
Recognition flashed across his face.
And then something changed.
Relief.
Pure, overwhelming relief.
It was the expression of a drowning man who had suddenly seen a rope thrown into the water.
"Sir Kite..."
His voice was weak.
His throat nearly failed him.
He stared at the old man as though he were looking at his only chance of survival.
Then Simon’s expression twisted with desperation.
"Save me, Sir Kite!"
Simon hurriedly scrambled to his feet and ran toward the old man.
Kite remained where he stood as Simon rushed behind him.
The old man did not immediately speak.
Instead, he slowly surveyed the surroundings.
His gaze first fell upon the three unconscious bodyguards lying on the ground.
His brows tightened slightly.
Then he noticed the woman standing to the side.
Her clothing was disordered from the earlier confrontation, making it obvious that something unpleasant had happened.
Finally, Kite’s gaze settled upon Diana.
For a brief moment, even the old man’s stern expression changed.
The spirit of the scythe stood quietly behind Victor, her long black hair falling around her shoulders and her crimson eyes observing the situation with complete calm.
There was an almost divine beauty to her presence.
And standing in front of her was the young man who seemed to be the center of the entire incident.
Kite looked at Victor.
Then at Simon hiding behind him.
He didn’t need to ask many questions.
Based on Simon’s personality, Kite could already guess what had happened here.
The young master had probably provoked someone he should never have provoked.
Still...
Kite’s gaze returned to the three bodyguards.
His eyes narrowed.
It was surprising that the young man before him had been able to take down all three.
Especially the two Master-ranked swordsmen.
That alone meant Victor was not an ordinary young man.
But Kite quickly suppressed his surprise.
His jaw tightened slightly.
’It doesn’t matter, since no matter what I need to protect this brat.’
Kite sighed inwardly.
He had no choice.
Simon was troublesome.
He knew that better than anyone.
But Simon was still the young master of the Valier family.
If something happened to him while Kite was present, the consequences would be severe.
Simon remained behind Kite, gripping the old man’s clothes with trembling fingers.
He no longer had the courage to face Victor by himself.
Kite slowly raised his eyes toward Victor.
"Who are you?"
As soon as he asked the question, he raised one hand.
The armed men behind him immediately understood the signal.
They moved outward.
Boots struck the pavement.
Weapons were readied.
Within moments, they had surrounded Victor.
The atmosphere became tense once more.
Victor’s eyes swept across them.
His patience, already thin, was beginning to disappear.
"I should be asking you that? Why are you protecting that piece of sh*t?"
Victor responded, sounding a little bit more irritated.
His voice was no longer as calm as before.
Kite’s eyes narrowed.
He did not immediately answer.
The young man before him had clearly understood that he was protecting Simon.
Yet instead of showing fear upon seeing an armed group surrounding him, Victor had openly insulted Simon.
That confidence was unusual.
Kite finally spoke.
"I’m Kite Elmhart, the uncle of the Marquis Evelyne Elmhar."
Victor’s expression changed slightly.
Surprise flickered through his golden eyes.
He had not expected that answer.
’So he was Evelyne’s uncle, but then why is he helping Simon, the young master of the Valier family? Weren’t the Elmharts and the Valiers in a feud right now?’
Victor’s thoughts turned quickly as he looked from Kite to Simon.
The situation had suddenly become much more complicated than he expected.
