Chapter 2549: Something’s Not Right
Xu Huo has an absolute talent in Super Evolution, a talent that even those born from Rank-A Wormhole Points cannot match, but one of his shortfalls is his player evolution level. As a Rank-B player, his evolution rate still hovers around 80%. It seems he will need quite a bit of time to reach the evolution rate of a Rank-A player. It’s hard to say how high his achievements will be in the future.
There have been players in the game who have maxed out their three-directional evolution, and because of this player’s existence, several wormhole points have gone to war. Although the conflict did not occur here, Carmen Field’s battle site frequently appearing in game news makes it clear how strong this person is.
Of course, Carmen Field has grown into a genius, and it’s hard to say that Xu Huo won’t be another Carmen Field in the future, but for now, he’s still quite easy to kill.
Whether it’s the District 001 government or the twenty players who witnessed this temporal slaughter, all are potential channels to leak his identity, especially the twenty here. In another place, even if the game channels were cut, they would have some strength to gamble, but here the space-time is chaotic, and Xu Huo’s defense against mental interference is maxed out; they are no different from the people of the Holy Sword Society!
To conceal his combat information, killing them here is Xu Huo’s best choice.
The players in District 001 remain silent as chickens, not only because their lives are in Xu Huo’s hands but also because they underestimated his strength. If they start attacking here, it is highly likely he will go on a killing spree, and there are many companions still trapped here.
But unexpectedly, Xu Huo did not attack them; instead, he said, "You know how to leave, right?"
"Remember my face, if you don’t want District 001 to be wiped out, find a way to cover up my information."
"You go back first, I’ll check the Chaotic Space over there."
Seeing he was about to leave, an older player hurriedly said, "The Chaotic Space over there may not necessarily have an exit!"
Xu Huo did not linger because of his words, waving his hand, he said, "Even if there’s no exit, there must be someone."
Watching his figure disappear into the forest, the others from District 001 gathered around, "What should we do?"
"Check again, make no mistakes." The older player said gravely, "If his identity leaks, the situation in District 001 will only worsen."
"From now on, you cannot leave my sight range. If you do, you’ll be considered a traitor. When we return, I’ll apply for hypnotic treatment with the higher-ups."
"Let’s move!"
The players present replied in unison: "Got it!"
Xu Huo is right; he’s using the face of a District 001 person. If people find out he has Space-Time Dual Evolution, Outer Zone forces will definitely try to kill him before he becomes a top Rank-A player to eliminate potential threats—at that point, all of District 001 would become hostages!
Xu Huo can leave just like that, but they are the ones to suffer!
After splitting up with the District 001 players, Xu Huo instructed the girl in the painting to go out and meet with Bubble Bean first; he couldn’t store the girl in the painting here as the chaotic time forces might leave an image.
"Follow the District 001 people, have them protect you if necessary." He advised.
The girl in the painting nodded, waved goodbye, then turned and jogged away.
Xu Huo sped up along the safe passage in the forest towards the entrance to the Chaotic Space, killing any Holy Sword Society players he encountered instantly, regardless of their identity.
When he reached the entrance to the Chaotic Space, he happened to meet the "Lord Envoy" of the Holy Sword Society coming out. It’s no surprise that the Holy Sword Society sends people here as the Chaotic Space is a good training ground, so there are many stationed here.
Xu Huo didn’t approach immediately but used Spatial Power and Psychic Power Materialization to orchestrate a surround kill. Of course, there are Super Evolvers in the Holy Sword Society, but compared to District 001 ones, they’re much weaker. Even those barely able to block a few attacks were killed by the subsequent Time Force.
In just a few breaths, over twenty Rank-A players from the Holy Sword Society were dead, and the remaining had already spotted Xu Huo’s location. But he was hiding amidst the gaps of Chaotic Space-Time forces, leaving them helpless. Moreover, his large movements made the already unstable Chaotic Space-Time entrance even more chaotic. Two players surrounding the Lord Envoy were even killed because they couldn’t find a gap to escape, directly pierced by Spatial Ray Blades.
"Fools! Wear your defensive clothing!" Screamed the cloaked and half-masked Lord Envoy angrily, hollering at their companions, repeatedly retreating into the Chaotic Space while signaling to nearby areas with a signal lamp. After receiving no response from those at the training ground, he decisively retreated into the Chaotic Space and used spatial rays to seal the entrance.
The danger of Chaotic Space is the same for everyone; while Space-Time power is handy, it’s also more unstable. If there’s a force fluctuation somewhere, other places might react too—like vast floating ice, when one piece crashes into the second, then the second into the third, the direction, range, and number of impacts become uncontrollable, possibly leading to an uncontrollable tsunami. Hence, the Holy Sword Society’s envoy blocked the entrance hastily.
Xu Huo didn’t exert much effort to create another entrance, observing the connection between Chaotic Space and Portal Space; it was about twenty meters high, resembling a tear. The edges and top were relatively stable, leaving a ten-meter-high, seven-to-eight-meter-wide pass that seemed navigable.
There were floating Spatial Ray Blades in it, but it was much more stable compared to other areas after entry, resembling a pre-prepared corridor.
Perhaps left by a Super Player.
After pausing slightly to observe the fragmented floating rocks below, Xu Huo stepped inside.
The Holy Sword Society people weren’t far off, so he didn’t follow too closely, maintaining a distance and engaging through the manipulation of spatial rays. And due to the terrain limits, both sides left room for maneuvering.
Xu Huo initially thought inside was the exit set by the Holy Sword Society, but the deeper he went, the more pressure from Space-Time power he felt. Less than two hundred meters in, he felt he was walking under thousands of blades; making significant moves was impossible, even simple arm swings while walking risked triggering Space-Time power’s outbreak.
It’s not right!
Realizing this, he opened the Mental Portal, returning through the narrow passage formed to the space entrance. As he stepped out, the passage was instantly crushed by the overwhelming Space-Time power, leaving the Holy Sword Society people uncertain of their fate.
