Chapter 2515: Relic of the Super Player

Xu Huo did not choose a faster time, nor was his purpose to kill, so he merely slowed down the flow of time in a small area. The player from the District Government immediately distanced himself from Xu Huo upon sensing the shift in power, carefully avoiding the Time Force.

The two sides stared at each other across several dozen meters, making the already tense atmosphere even tighter, with a faint murderous aura lingering around everyone.

Bubble Bean was prepared for a deadly battle, but to his surprise, the player who had just tried to attack the Girl in the Painting suddenly retracted his momentum and said to them, "Come with me, Mr. Valen is waiting for you."

After speaking, the player turned forward, no longer paying attention to them.

As the three followed, Bubble Bean couldn’t help but ask, "What was that just now?"

He could only sense the power fluctuations in the air but was unclear about the situation. It could hardly be affected by non-gaming area simulation devices, likely due to Super Evolution Power. However, instruments were placed here too, and Spirit Evolution Power would definitely be disturbed, making it hard to harm players of such a rank... Could it be that Xu Huo’s Spirit Evolution had reached Peak Mastery?

"Just saying hi," Xu Huo said blandly.

Following the player, they quickly arrived in front of a solitary small building. There were not too many devices set inside or outside the building, but like the player leading them, at least three more people with extremely high Evolution Rates were around, guarding the front and back of the building. Only one person stayed close to the middle-aged man in the first-floor living room.

That was the illustrious Mr. Valen. He seemed to be browsing important information; when Xu Huo and the others entered, he didn’t even lift his head, merely pointed to the sofa beside him, gesturing for them to sit.

The player who led them stood behind Xu Huo, Bubble Bean, and the Girl in the Painting.

With these two staring from front and back, sweat beaded on Bubble Bean’s forehead, and Xu Huo also did not dare relax, whereas the Girl in the Painting continued munching on dried fruits from the coffee table, even asking for more.

For a moment, the only sound in the living room was her crunching.

Bubble Bean’s eyes were almost popping out; he kept hinting to the Girl in the Painting to be more restrained, yet immersed in snacks, she either didn’t see or didn’t care to acknowledge.

It was Xu Huo who turned to him and said, "You having a muscle spasm in your eye?"

Bubble Bean was stumped and stopped trying to do anything futile, instead sitting in the corner in frustration. For comfort, he grasped the prop he always carried, though now ineffective.

A while later, Mr. Valen finally found the time. He handed the communicator to the player beside him and, with an apologetic tone, said to the trio, "Sorry to keep you waiting, the matters are truly overwhelming."

"I know all about what you did in Cat Fruit Town, and I’m aware of your purpose here, but unfortunately, I can’t be much help."

If you can’t help, why call us in?

"I’m more curious about the whole situation’s ins and outs than the whereabouts of the Wan Family," Xu Huo replied. "District 001 is developing rapidly, with Outer Zone players settling here long ago. Over time, it’s hard to differentiate between locals and outsiders. Based on the composition of District Government and other governmental personnel, and the laws and regulations enacted, locals in District 001 don’t hold deep prejudice against outsiders, otherwise they wouldn’t continually concede."

"The Wan Family affair seems targeted at you and other election participants, yet the deeper reason resembles a struggle between local and Outer District Forces."

"As I said earlier, the native residents and outsiders haven’t reached a life-and-death conflict. This sudden move appears more like branding the Outer District Forces maliciously, nailing them to a pillar of shame."

"I’m curious about your sudden actions’ rationale."

Xu Huo finished speaking, then added: "Don’t tell me it’s not your doing; with united efforts, involving the Military District and government alike, I believe Outer District Forces can’t achieve this level."

"You’re very perceptive," Mr. Valen complimented with a sigh afterward. "We hold no bias against Outer Zone players; anyone contributing to District 001’s future is our fellow. If interested, you might consider settling here in District 001."

Gesturing to the person beside him, that player placed a Cat Whisker Fruit seed on the table, saying, "Cat Fruit Town will soon return to normal; you can choose another way to complete the task."

That seed was the one previously taken by Lady Shela. Before the side mission triggers, they might have considered it. Presently, it obviously wasn’t viable; who would’ve thought delivering Cat Whisker Fruit to Lady Shela didn’t count as finishing?

Xu Huo simply smiled, "I understand Mr. Valen’s point; in major decisions involving District 001, passers-by shouldn’t probe excessively."

"But I’m quite set in my ways; having chosen this completion route, I won’t alter easily before the final stage, especially when we’re so close."

"Big events are about to unfold in District 001; it’ll be challenging to find better opportunities elsewhere in Cat Fruit Town."

"Perhaps we can approach negotiations differently; I wonder if there’s anywhere I can offer assistance?"

Mr. Valen and others had yet to react, but Bubble Bean’s shock was uncontrolled: Wow, what a bold claim, thinking the well-equipped District 001 needs help from an outsider? Unless mistaken, he’s a Rank-B player!

Normally, it would be so, but Xu Huo stated this precisely because they appeared here; Valen meeting them provides good reasoning.

Since he understands the Mi Family incident, investigation into Xu Huo’s past actions likely occurred. Despite disguises, he trusts there are skilled figures in District 001 capable of deciphering his identity from clues.

The willingness to meet him indicates he possesses something they need.

What District 001 players lack but he possesses, the answer is clear.

Furthermore, choosing this critical timing to meet him highlights the urgency.

Hence, Xu Huo’s proposal for a transaction makes perfect sense.

Mr. Valen’s expression remained unchanged, seemingly unhurried. Shortly, he turned and asked, "Are the three of you interested in the relics of a Super Player?"

Bubble Bean’s eye stopped twitching, the Girl in the Painting paused her snacking, while Xu Huo remained calm, saying, "District 001’s Super Player relics wouldn’t be handed over even if unattained; it seems this relates to relic contention."

"Calling it handing over wouldn’t be accurate," Mr. Valen remarked, "Super Player relics aren’t for everyone; they require capable individuals to claim them."

"While we hope District 001 players inherit the relics, we struggle to find suitable candidates. Should anyone present a relic, we’re willing to exchange it for something more valuable."
