Qiu Xiangming suddenly realized his mistake after speaking, and upon hearing Xu Huo’s retort, he pondered for a moment before saying, "This instance was meant for those with talent. Why can’t this person be a player from the Outer Zone?"
He was a rational person. Although he and his companions both wanted and believed that the Super Dungeon should be inherited by players from District 001, a goal they were determined to achieve at any cost, a voice inside him also said that perhaps the one who could truly take over the Super Dungeon wasn’t in District 001.
This idea arose because before the Super Player died, there had been attempts to select suitable people.
While Qiu Xiangming was not among the first selected, he caught wind of it because the gentleman was old—being a Super Player, he shouldn’t have aged so quickly, but for some unknown reason, he was very elderly, hence the hurry.
However, in Qiu Xiangming’s view, even if the gentleman was aging, waiting for decades wasn’t a problem. He believed many in the District Government thought the same way, feeling there was still plenty of time. No one anticipated the gentleman’s sudden death, causing the District Government to be unprepared, wasting a whole year.
So many people, holding on for so long, made Qiu Xiangming start doubting himself, and whether anyone in District 001 could successfully inherit the Super Dungeon. If so, how long would that take? Would other districts give them that time? Once news of the unclaimed Super Dungeon in District 001 leaked, would countless Outer Zone players rush to seize it?
Xu Huo glanced at him before saying, "Don’t lose heart easily; your companions are still outside."
Leaning against the wall, Qiu Xiangming took out a bottle of wine and asked, "Do you want some?"
Xu Huo shook his head slightly, watching as Qiu drank alone.
Burdened with his companions’ lives and faced with seemingly insurmountable problems, the dual pressure could lead anyone to some self-loathing thoughts; but for most, it would pass after a couple of days since unsolvable problems remain unsolved.
Having eaten, Xu Huo continued to work, this time focusing on the internal structure of complex polyhedra, aiming to increase the number of Super Space Body and Super Space Body Belt.
As his proficiency improved, he could soon freely control more complex polyhedra, and could slowly deconstruct the polyhedral structure without releasing powerful destructive force.
Besides mastering spatial power more thoroughly from both detail and holistic perspectives, he also replicated Lady Palace’s compressed miniature cube, which, once released, has power comparable to a bomb but is compressed by layers of spatial barriers. It’s much simpler than forming a Super Space Body, thus naturally less powerful.
This is one of two detailed applications of direct spatial power. The tutorial left in this instance clearly aims at true space, meaning the barriers between independent spaces. Props and equipment can create channels between different districts or even different Wormhole Points. Perhaps the ultimate goal of Spatial Evolution is to break the spatial walls with human power...
Of course, this goal might not even be achievable by a Super Player.
But still, having dreams is better than not having them.
The polyhedron became visible to the naked eye. Xu Huo attempted to recreate Lawrence Lee’s Spatial Ray, which could connect freely to the rays inside a human body after being released, thus killing. This was unlike directly deconstructing with a polyhedron but more like spatial power extending via released rays to other objects, mimicking a spider lock without needing the physical equipment as a media.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t yet replicate the shape. He could only control a few polyhedra, even struggling to combine them into a Polyhedron Belt, meaning he had seen the Kaleidoscope World but now couldn’t even create its basic units.
Despite not managing to recreate it, he gained some insights on connecting to spatial rays inside human bodies.
Players usually wear prop costumes, which serve as a barrier, making it difficult to deconstruct using Spatial Ray alone due to its precision as a prop. Compared to violent destruction, controlling spatial rays inside a human body could instantly immobilize opponents, a better option than restrictive props.
Feeling his gaze upon him, Qiu Xiangming raised his head, "What do you want to do?"
"Try to control spatial rays inside a body," Xu Huo replied candidly.
Qiu Xiangming would never let him try; what if poor control led to deconstructing his brain and internal organs like any other object?
"Human spatial rays are far more complex than ordinary objects," he said. "Even those skilled in spider locks might not truly control a player; humans move, not standing still for you. If you really want to try, use animals. Then, you’ll understand the vast difference between living beings and inanimate objects."
"You’ve tried?" Xu Huo raised his eyebrow.
Of course, many Space-oriented Super Evolvers thought to try on humans after controlling destructive objects, but humans are more complex than any object, with chaotic internal spatial rays unable to always connect. While Super Space Bodies are complex, they can be patterned once mastery is achieved; humans are ever-changing.
"With your abilities, can you do it?" Xu Huo asked again.
Qiu Xiangming paused in silence, "I once helped a malformed child remove an extra finger."
He added, "Studying this direction has no significant value. Better off preparing more spider locks."
Xu Huo nodded slightly, not continuing the topic.
Two days passed quickly, and a black passage appeared on the ceiling again. By now, he could control several polyhedra, approaching the portal much less confused. After probing with Spatial Ray for a while, he felt he was just a step away.
But trying until that point, he wouldn’t continue further, letting the spatial passage above close after his release.
Watching nearby, Qiu Xiangming took a relieved yet regretful breath and said, "Can you now break the barrier outside the door?"
