Chapter 2601: The Situation Isn’t That Complicated
Xu Huo didn’t respond, and the Metal Token Player couldn’t discern what he meant, so they didn’t continue to ask.
The night stretched on, yet the surrounding voices grew fewer. The demon head masks started appearing one by one, prompting the group to rest briefly before moving again. They headed in the same direction, occasionally encountering Space Transmission Gates, but there was no further situation of being transported back to a certain place.
In fact, each time they passed through a Space Transmission Gate, most people didn’t feel anything. However, the little old man’s instrument, sensitive as it was, clearly recorded every change in space when no one else was around to provide a reference.
But regardless of position or time, there seemed to be no pattern. After passing through each space, the seen city appeared to have no special characteristics, making it difficult to determine whether it was a space they had already traversed.
Yet, they couldn’t stop, because once they stopped, the masks attacking them would increase in number, akin to beasts scenting blood and gathering in groups.
"What exactly are we doing?" a Player questioned, suggesting they head toward the ghost headgear area. It didn’t seem right, because although the general direction was correct, they hadn’t followed a straight line, instead winding through streets and alleys. If not for getting closer to the ghost headgear area, they would have thought the person leading them was wandering blindly.
The Metal Token Player, as a rescue team member, was naturally addressed, but unfortunately, he didn’t know either. Even after learning the positions of other teammates from Beneath the Dimension, they couldn’t meet face-to-face. As things stood, before the instance ends, it was difficult for them to leave the restricted area. The only way now was to go to relatively safer places, such as the ghost headgear area, and wait for these seven days to pass.
While the general direction was correct, Xu Huo continued leading without concern. Despite not being a Space-oriented Super Evolver, he was very sensitive to Space-Time Power. It’s not too late to separate after entering the ghost headgear area.
After walking along streets and alleys for a while, Xu Huo began moving along rooftops again. This time, he walked in a straight line, but the Players following him began to understand his intention.
"Is he trying to test if there’s any difference between ground and aerial routes?" Someone found it unbelievable. Given the danger level of this instance, how could there be such obvious vulnerabilities in the restricted area? Furthermore, even taking a step back, assuming there are differences, it doesn’t matter to them. Could they actually breach the space?
In fact, they could travel faster by other methods.
As the patience of the crowd gradually wore thin, Xu Huo stopped to rest again. He didn’t even look at the people behind him and simply said, "I didn’t ask anyone to follow me."
Although his previous actions aimed at investigating spatial patterns, part of the reason was his interest in the spatial layout.
Meanwhile, the Metal Token Player had already coordinated with his companions in other spaces. So far, the rescue team Players could confirm that at least five layers of space existed in the same location within the city—when they passed by the city library earlier, there were four other groups of Players nearby.
However, even if the Block Space hypothesis holds, it merely indicates that, at that time, the library position stacked five layers of space, which doesn’t represent the entire city as having five complete layers of space.
Of course, this is a more complex thought.
This condition actually resembles Xu Huo’s Spiritual Book Tower, where each circular floor of the hundred-story tower contains countless rooms, each connected vertically, horizontally, and behind with other rooms. These rooms can switch and move freely, making it nearly impossible to return to the original room once stepping through a door.
Yet, that is a vision within the Spiritual World, devoid of actual venues and absolute spatial constraints, whereas the Night Tour Sub-venue is indeed a real space.
The isolated state of the space remains quite marvelous because if this instance features spaces truly independent, akin to sectional spaces, they would find it nearly impossible to float or hover like bubbles while being able to swap locations anytime—none of the previously seen space-related Super Dungeons in District 001 accomplished this.
If not independent spaces, it suggests this utilizes a certain approach of Spatial Power.
Such a faint and elusive power can directly split space, with the separated areas essentially non-interfering—a distinct contrast to how Players manipulate spatial power, not constructed by the spatial ray combination known to Xu Huo, and certainly different from the easy dismantling and combining of multi-faceted Spatial Bodies in Kaleidoscope Space.
Its state resembles the Spatial Barrier released by the Water Rubik’s Cube.
Of course, Kaleidoscope World merely represents a state of space power usage perceived by Xu Huo, not implying it’s the absolute or final form. Perhaps, on the journey of Spatial Evolution, many forks exist, and each person’s choices lead to different presentations.
To split space is akin to using true space, though this level of power doesn’t resemble the naturally formed state of real space...
As this thought flicked by, he suddenly paused.
A sectional space, as one providing space for tens of billions or even hundreds of billions of humans, brims with spatial power in every corner and object; the original state of space power is relaxed and hard to detect, only when Evolvers master the method do they manipulate spatial rays, thereby influencing spatial power.
Supposing these spatial portals in the restricted area approach the innate state of space upon appearance, they naturally don’t feel immensely powerful, similar to the Dimension Train traversing different spaces, where Players struggle to sense the changes in spatial power. Its presence is formidable, making Players feel bewildered upon unknowingly crossing spaces, becoming increasingly complex in their thoughts, while in reality, it’s identical to the surrounding spaces connected along the train tracks, simply not easily perceptible by Players.
Not easily perceptible doesn’t imply it’s weak; bound by game power, there’s little difference for Players.
Just like when riding a vehicle, one can feel the shaking but can’t sense their planet’s movement in the interstellar ocean.
Therefore, these spatial portals appearing and disappearing are not divisions into countless blocks of space, but randomly transmitting some individuals or objects to different spaces. Assuming the restricted area space has five layers, then the Space Transmission Gates in the city lead to each layer’s exit or entrance. Players can only explore a limited range temporarily, and significant movement often results in being transported to another space, which contributes to such strong bewilderment.
Xu Huo took out the "Metallic clay".
